The limited-edition version boasts an exclusive ‘electro plated’ finish making it look like real polished steel and brass. It also boasts two modes of operation, Open and Closed, as well as five brand new and totally unique sound and light effects, with each accessed by a different button sequence. The Sonic comes in Regeneration style packaging with a sturdy mailer box.

August 2nd, 2023 - 10:14amOf course the important questions are will the only difference be it’s not got the shiny coating, or will it not have the extra colours, and twisty bit at the bottom. I hope it’s just the shiny coating, but feel the extra colours might also be gone.

August 1st, 2023 - 3:53pmI finally received my screwdriver yesterday, without getting any email and with the shipping status on the website still indicating “Not yet shipped”. It was transported by the Royal Mail in the UK and La Poste in France.
However, I have to wonder what the £7.18 tax I paid CO was for since I had to pay importation fees and a tax (15€ !) again on delivery. And as I didn’t get any email when the order crossed the border, I couldn’t pay those fees online, which would have at least cost me way less.
About the screwdriver itself, I really like it but it feels even more chunky in person than it did in pictures, especially when compared to the other CO screwdrivers. It arrived in perfect condition and the chrome effect is really stunning, making the previous ones and their non-shiny plastic look a bit bland by comparison.

July 31st, 2023 - 7:20pmI don’t believe it, they have not been able to find my address AGAIN, on Thursday after the first one was lost, sent somewhere else or whatever happened to it, Character said they would send out a new and they had spare kept behind because this happens sometimes and she read out my address , anyway, meant to come today but has it heck, got an email from DHL saying they were unable to access my address, what is going on?

July 31st, 2023 - 6:41amI ordered on the day of the announcement. No order acknowledgement email by Character Toys, just a PayPal receipt. Several days go by and they don’t answer any emails. Only when I filed a PayPal complaint did they respond by cancelling my order. I asked for an explanation and I never received an answer. Poor service, I say.

Yes, they should have expected an increase, but it’s not usually *that* fast and people would have got their orders eventually.

Yes, they should have responded to your email but again they might not be able to cope with the demand as no doubt a lot of impatient fans have emailed them.
I heard nothing until dhl had my parcel but could see my order on the website.
Disputing via PayPal is pretty much PayPal asking for a refund. Hence why they did and you get no sonic.

August 1st, 2023 - 10:47amI agree with everyone above. Character cancelled your order because PayPal basically went to them saying that you haven’t received it and they claimed a refund. That’s what happens when you tell PayPal that you haven’t received an order you paid for, they don’t “chase it up” for you.

They told me there was issues with the labels with people who have address in the North Ireland and they have sent them via royal mail and I should get mine within the next few days. The women from customer service was lovely and I couldn’t fault her at all.

July 27th, 2023 - 2:28pmSoooo, I called character this morning as they haven’t replied to my email for over 2 days now, had nothing from DHL or any further correspondance from anyone other than PayPal. I spoke with a lovely lady at character and gave her my order number, she identified it and confirmed my address etc, she said I should have heard from DHL by now. You see I have 2 on order as my friend got blocked trying to order it last Thursday so I just ordered us both one and asked him to send the money. Interestingly the lady at character then said because I had ordered 2 it would go with a different courier as its a “bigger parcel” but then asked me to call back on Monday if dont hear from DHL?! im sooo confused. Seems we shall never forget the 14th sonic nightmare!

I wonder if CO is dividing the UK orders and the international orders in two waves, as international deliveries may require some specific processes. I try not to panick yet, but the lack of information makes me a bit anxious.
