May 31st, 2025 - 3:53pmJust got mine, glad I have one haven’t read wheel in space before and Dan liles art of Patrick Troughton has definitely improved compared to his Evil of the daleks cover.

May 26th, 2025 - 4:23pmI’d like a new unedited version of Enemy of the World. Fancy doing it Frazer. You’re Evil of the Daleks was superb.

May 26th, 2025 - 6:15pmFrom my opinion i think they would more only reissue Williams and troutens ones on selected tbh we have i can tell had 4,5 ones so far seasons but not 6 ? Which would make sense if the next one was space pirates maybe and then the williams seasons if they continue

May 26th, 2025 - 6:53amHopefully the next Target exclusive will be The Rescue. Need more of these please.

May 26th, 2025 - 10:00amNever mind the next exclusive, they should be reprinting those old target books along with new ones. Personally I’d rather drop all new fiction and concentrate purely on the target books.
SteveB
May 26th, 2025 - 11:25amI also would prefer them to concentrate on the Target range, and why not do some more of the Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant stories. And just maybe some better versions of stories from the classic era. After all, there are two versions of The Stones of Blood and The Androids of Tara.
Tom Williams
May 26th, 2025 - 1:49pmHighly doult they would reissue ever single target book in my opinion i nearly completed the whole lot now with only 1,2,4 dr ones still to go and the build up on numbers off them would be a shocking amount like especially saying the 2005-present ones getting reprints ie the hard back books
Amypondfan
May 26th, 2025 - 3:42pmPaperback reprints only, wouldn’t buy hardback ones anyway. I’d like to see a reprint and a new target book published every month. 12 reissues, 12 new a year. £240 a year, considering how many hardbacks they are releasing, and I’ve stopped getting any hardbacks (including the two big finish ones at £22 each which I’ve decided to wait for paperbacks for) they are currently releasing material that adds up to a lot more than 240
Rory
May 27th, 2025 - 9:56amThe reason Stones and Tara got new novelisations is because David Fisher had already written them for the BBC audio releases.
Amypondfan
May 27th, 2025 - 12:22pmRory, the only classic story that would need a new edition is shada due to the author. Everything else I would want the original novels reprinted. When I say new novels I mean from 2005 onwards.
Rory
May 27th, 2025 - 2:03pm@Amypondfan, I was replying to SteveB. Should’ve made that clear.
I would love to see new versions of The Daleks and The Doomsday Weapon, to bring them closer to the televised version, since both Targets feature reimagined introductions to the companions.
Nigel Robinson had also written a new novelisation of Unearthly Child which would be great to get hold of, but that’s unlikely to happen with Coburn’s son being a massive… problem.

May 28th, 2025 - 12:47amTom everyone else is talking about target books as this is a target book thread.
Daniel Seymour
May 28th, 2025 - 8:36am“I’d like to see a reprint and a new target book published every month. 12 reissues, 12 new a year”. Agreed with you Amypondfan, starting with The End of the World, New Earth, The Eleventh Hour, Deep Breath and the Woman Who fell to Earth.
Amypondfan
May 28th, 2025 - 1:52pmDaniel I wouldn’t care what they do as long as they did them! There are three newly announced target books for January 26. One by Jenny colgan, one by Joseph lidster. The one which makes me hopeful is by Matthew Jones writer of the satan pit… oh I do hope that one has been done!

May 29th, 2025 - 11:55amEveryone gets in touch with Hachett. They considered doing a collection of hardback targets a few years back.
Amypondfan
May 29th, 2025 - 12:25pmIn this age of financial restraint I’d not buy hardbacks far too many and far to expensive. Paperbacks only for me

May 22nd, 2025 - 8:39pmTie in with Character Options doing a special release would be amazing – long missing cyberman version. But very unlikely.

Bookcollector
May 22nd, 2025 - 6:27pmThis is a re-edited version that corrects the mistakes of both the original 1988 release and the new mistakes that came from scanning the text for the essential Terrance dicks book.
Andy R
May 22nd, 2025 - 9:59pmWhat were the errors in the 1988 version?
Bookcollector
May 22nd, 2025 - 10:17pmThe usual typos.
Mike Phair
May 30th, 2025 - 4:08pmBut still errors in this new version unfortunately.
Bookcollector
May 30th, 2025 - 7:07pmOnly spotted two errors and frankly most books nowadays have errors in. Actually it’s always surprising when I read an old target book or a novel from years back and you spot loads of typos you never spotted before
Matt Parker
May 22nd, 2025 - 5:21pmWow. Took out a bank loan to buy the hardcover copy of that 30 years ago

Alan
May 23rd, 2025 - 5:22pmAny idea if the DWM version is any different/abridged from the main release?
There are a couple of mentions that this is a promotional copy so still a good idea to get it if you’re into that
Bookcollector
May 23rd, 2025 - 9:30pmAlan, Steve Cole has re-edited the book, fixing typos and tidying up text errors. For example a cyberman walks down the stairs and then is back at the top and walks down again. That’s been fixed for this version. As Steve Cole says in the magazine article Terrance once said to him that he wished the latter target books had had more editing before being published. So this is the same book with only minor revisions for errors and clarity
Alan
May 24th, 2025 - 3:18pm@BC thank you. Actually I thought there was a separate full price release for some reason so just ignore me.
