Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore (Kindle Edition)
Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore (Kindle Edition)
As it had been foretold, the armies of the Universe gathered at Trenzalore. Only one thing stood between the planet and destruction – the Doctor.
For nine hundred years, he defended the planet, and the tiny town of Christmas, against the forces that would destroy it.
He never knew how long he could keep the peace. He never knew what creatures would emerge from the snowy night to threaten him next. He knew only that at the end he would die on Trenzalore.
Some of what happened during those terrible years is well documented.
But most of it remains shrouded in mystery and darkness. Until now. This is a glimpse of just some of the terrors the people faced, the monstrous threats the Doctor defeated. These are the tales of the monsters who found themselves afraid – and of the one man who was not.
(Tales of Trenzalore documents four of the Doctor’s adventures from different periods during the Siege of Trenzalore and the ensuing battle:
Let it Snow – by Justin Richards
An Apple a Day – by George Mann
Strangers in the Outland – by Paul Finch
The Dreaming – by Mark Morris)

January 15th, 2014 - 10:36pmLooks like his Trenzalore adventures were cooler than most of the 11th Doctor’s episodes actually made and shown!
Cyberleader1010
January 15th, 2014 - 9:46pmPlease let this be released in book form!

January 15th, 2014 - 9:27pmAm I the only one who is kind of bothered by the fact that the amount of time 11 spent on Trenzalore is the same amount of time the doctor was alive prior to 11?
Alisa
January 16th, 2014 - 4:27pmNo, I don’t like it either.

January 15th, 2014 - 8:24pmHurrah! Some of the best classic monsters! The Mara (from Deva Loka – the one on Manussa was black), The Krynoid, The Autons (From the aftermath of the Time War when their homeworld was destroyed) and Ice Warriors (from Skaldak’s era)

January 15th, 2014 - 8:25pmI thought it said “Tales of Trenzalore- Kinda edition” when i clicked on the link and so wasn’t surprised when the Mara popped up!!!
Robert Adams AKA Sutekh
June 3rd, 2014 - 5:40pmWhy didn’t they use the sock puppet Mara for the cover instead of the CGI one? It would have been much more nostalgic, but mind you, modern Doctor Who doesn’t try to be.

January 15th, 2014 - 7:28pmA bit unfair since not all of us have a kindle.

Matt Smithy
January 15th, 2014 - 6:48pmI wrote a fanfiction on fanfiction.net set during his time on trenzalore and thought “huh, you know a story like this would be a cool release for a book” and what do you know, they release 4! 😀
Alex The Geek
January 15th, 2014 - 6:16pmHang isn’t this basically just fan fic?
I Froze Gallifrey
January 15th, 2014 - 6:17pmNope.
Dominic Kane
January 15th, 2014 - 6:09pmcan you get it as an actual book? (please say yes)
DOCTOR WHO ONE
January 15th, 2014 - 6:05pmPretty sure a bit of the synopsis is wrong.
It says the Doctor defended Trenzalore for 900 years.
I’m certain it was only 300 years.
I Froze Gallifrey
January 15th, 2014 - 6:17pmIt was 300 years the first time, but by the time he almost had no hair, it was 900 years apparently.
Obsie
January 15th, 2014 - 8:57pmI for one am certainly getting a bit confused as to how old he is meant to be. Perhaps when the show comes back in the Autumn things will be made a little clearer. For now I’ll stick to the premise that The Doctor lies!
I Froze Gallifrey
January 15th, 2014 - 5:49pmLook is like
Let it Snow – Ice Warriors
An Apple a Day – Krynoid
Strangers in the Outland – Autons
The Dreaming – The Mara.
Trenzalore
January 15th, 2014 - 5:45pmMatt’s face is much too smooth but still a great cover and sounds like a wonderful book too!
Trenzalore
January 15th, 2014 - 5:47pmAlso will this ever come out physically as I don’t have a Kindle?
Still not ginger
January 15th, 2014 - 6:26pmI don’t know for sure, but they will probably make a few more eBooks and then release a physical collection, like they did with Melody Malone etc.
Trenzalore
January 15th, 2014 - 6:41pmHope so…
Peter
January 15th, 2014 - 5:40pmThat’s the Mara on the right there!

Melkur
January 15th, 2014 - 4:57pmSounds good, hope they revisit the War Doctor someday too.
Joethewhovian
January 15th, 2014 - 4:53pmBut, I don’t see why they should keep returning to 11. Capaldi is the doctor now.
booboo
January 15th, 2014 - 4:55pmwhy shouldn’t they, they keep returning to ALL the past doctors in other books and audios what makes this so different
emby2
January 15th, 2014 - 4:58pmMerchandise of a doctor always continues until the next doctor’s first episode, it’s the way it’s always been. David Tennant’s last episode was 01/01/10 but the audios/comic strips continued until april when Matt Smith debuted.
The new doctor’s novels usually arrived a month or two after his first episode.
ParadigmDalek1325
January 15th, 2014 - 5:01pmIt’s nice to see what happened during the times we missed in the xmas special, besides 11 was a great Doctor!
Grand Poobah
January 16th, 2014 - 2:17amBecause the authors who’d write the books would have no idea how the Doctor would be played?
Joethewhovian
January 15th, 2014 - 4:52pmLooks… Interesting
