Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.com

You can see all available tales from The Tardis Comics Here

If the Doctor himself can’t be contained by just one incarnation, then neither can his comics! Titan Comics are pleased to announce the release of the astoundingly Christmassy special edition, Tales From The Tardis: Doctor Who #1, featuring three stunning stories in an all-new format!

Get swept into a winter wonderland with the Twelfth Doctor in Relative Dimensions. When the Doctor receives an impossible Christmas card, delivered direct to the TARDIS, it’s his cue for an extra-sized adventure of unbelievably festive proportions.

Written by George Mann (The Affinity Bridge, The Osiris Ritual) and Cavan Scott (Judge Dredd, Skylanders), with art by Mariano Laclaustra, this inter-dimensional adventure is the perfect companion this Christmas.

Plus, enjoy a double helping of adventure with the Ninth Doctor in Weapons Of Past Destruction where the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack, team up in an all-new adventure, as ancient weaponry from the Time War begins to show up on the intergalactic black market!

Can the Doctor stop the Time War from happening all over again? Written by Who-Ology author Cavan Scott and art by Blair Shedd (Ghostbusters), the classic TARDIS team are back together!

Picked this up today same size as the other comics you can buy like the Batman ones. Looks like in issue 2 there continuing with the Ninth Doctor story and putting the Tenth ones in too.

Yeah, I picked up a copy as well. Titan is asking Customer’s which size format they prefer. To be honest I’d rather they carried on with the A4 format they are currently running for the ‘Dr Who Comic 3 Doctors’ than the smaller version. Issue # 2 look’s like Parts 3 & 4 for the 9th. Doctor ‘Weapons Of Past Destruction’ & a 10th. Doctor single story one-off.

Is this ‘another’ relauch of the Titan’s title or a second title. It’s getting very confusing. It’s alreay been renumbered once for the Four Doctors special. I subscribe usually…

I want a poster of that cover. It’s on the US 12th Doctor comic this week and it’s well timed coming after Hell Bent. Action Girl Clara!

This is presumably the new separate comic which will feature the reprints from the 8th. & 9th. & 4th. Doctor Comics (& presumably all previous Doctors coming up) much like the original book release’s we will have TWO separate comics: Doctor Who Comic will cover the current release’s from the 10th., 11th. & 12th. whilst Tales From The Tardis will cover the current release’s from previous Doctors.

If that’s the case, why is 12 on the cover… I am wondering how they plan to juggle all the Doctors as they come out…

I did say ‘presumably’ Firstly we have to consider that chronologically the current Doctor Who Comic is all over the place. Until this Issue come’s out on Thursday 17/12/15 we won’t know? As I stated about the books, we had one range covering the 7th. Doctor then followed by the 8th. Doctor (Back before 2005’s TV re-launch) running in tandem with the Past Doctor’s novels. As this look’s to be a once a month Issue maybe Past Doctor’s (Or all Doctor’s) may feature to try and keep up with the Individual Doctor’s Comic releases? This Issue seem’s to cover a 12th. Doctor strip with the first 2 parts of the 9th. Doctor’s strip?

The Twelfth Doctor story comes from Titan’s Doctor Who Christmas Special in the US.

It looks like the deal is that Doctor Who Comic will continue to reprint the Tenth/Eleventh/Twelfth Doctor books, while Tales from the TARDIS will reprint other bits and bobs. That would be mainly things like the Fourth and Eighth Doctor minis and the Ninth Doctor ongoing (which was originally a mini but has now been promoted to ongoing) but would also be the occasional Twelfth Doctor thing that’s not from the main comic. The SDCC and Free Comic Day books (both of which feature Twelve) are more like to show up in Tales of the TARDIS than Doctor Who Comic, for instance.

      @ Nuallain

Couldn’t put it better myself! The 12th. Strip is indeed from the Titan Christmas Special plus the first 2 parts of the 9th.’s Weapons Of Past Destruction. As you say, I would expect the 3 Doctor’s 10th., 11th. & 12th. to continue their current story reprints in ‘Doctor Who Comic’ & that ‘Tales From The Tardis’ would feature everything else such as previous Doctor’s, Promotional Strips & the odd 12th. tale. Again, I can only presume that like ‘Doctor Who Comic’ which is only available in the UK, it will be along the same line’s with a UK only release of reprints. Which is much easier to collect than pile’s of separate comic issues, albeit chronologically a bit of a mess.

If this is monthly they’ll catch up with the US fast. I can see some IDW Tenth and Eleventh Doctor material getting used if that happens.

Titan/Panini took over the franchise from IDW, so I don’t think they have any rights to the IDW Catalogue unless they come to some agreement?

they have reprinted some of the iDW stuff but not sure how far the agreement goes

That’s very interesting? I would certainly like to see the IDW Back Catalogue reprinted in the UK. As I only had 2 or 3 of the US Import Graphic Novel Collections. Would be nice to explore IDW’s work further for the UK if they can get full rights for it?

I’ve got the Prisoners Of Time in Hardback & the 11th. Omnibus Versions seem to be the ongoing Doctor Who serial adventures that IDW were running in the US before they dropped (Or were pushed?) the contract. Interesting times ahead methinks?

No idea. I hope so, as I never buy online and there’s no Forbidden Planet store where I am (the only comic book store in Hull is an independent called Amazing Fantasy, as far as I’m aware).
