Definitely getting this set, not sure about the others
So there’s no differences between the original releases and this?

actually there are differences. the paint apps are much better (apart from the Stetson doctor). and rivers hair looks more blonde.

there are bound to be paint variations we have even seen that between batches but there are no proper variants here

Booboo is the River figure identical to the orignal release? Or any of the others for that matter?

I’d have gone for the S6 set had the Eleventh Doctor been without the stetson, but out of the nine figures, River is the only one that appeals.

I think the sets are a great concept, but I think the selection is a little off. Personally I’d have gone for a Doctor / Companion / Monster sort of structure.

Series 4 – Tenth Doctor, River Song and Supreme Dalek.
Series 5 – Eleventh Doctor, Amy and stone Dalek.
Series 6 – Eleventh Doctor, Rory and Silent.

Something like that, though not necessarily those figures.

Rare now, but River now looking back and wished I bought her as did not no how rare shed be must be a kick in the teeth for those who spent a ridiculous amount on her single carded and Donna got two of her give one to my DT fan girl friend Lol so yeah. might get this. Might I must!

They have already done sets for series 1,2,3

    • James A

      August 14th, 2014 - 9:29pm

They’ve made hundreds for Series 1-3, only 1 for Series 4 (the Tesco exclusive) and only 2 for Series 5 and 6 each. Not sure about Series 7, but it’ll probably consist of the 3.75″ figures.

They should do this with the classic series range. Looking at all the figures from the classic series, there isn’t many figures from Peter Davison’s era, which is a shame because I would love to have a Mara figure, a Silurian figure and a Sea Devil figure.

Because Series 1,2,3 have been done? Bring on Series 7!

      – 12th Doctor, in Costume
      – Clara
      – Danny Pink(?)

A Paternoster Gang set would be perfect too!

    • James A

      August 14th, 2014 - 9:33pm

Those would all be new figures. CO only release sets of already released figures (sometimes with an exclusive figure) but that’s it. I think a Series 7 one would currently be like (e.g.):

      – 11th Doctor (S7P2)
      – Ice Warrior
      – Amy Pond

  • James A

    June 21st, 2014 - 4:44pm

About time as well I think, there’s only ever been 1 Series 4 figure set, 2 for series 5 and 1 for series 6! Series 1-3 had numerous!

Good choices for the packs and that it caters quite well for casual collectors or newbies who missed out on the previous mass releases. I’m assuming all three will use the “Classic” themed box. I’m guessing that there will be packs for Series 1-3 but I suppose that if they were coming then we’d know about it at the same time as these three.

Yeah but a re-release in the Diamond Classic boxes for UK and international release. It was fine for those boxes at the time when those figures were widely produced and there only has been three series since 05. We don’t have Tesco stores in my country. 😛

    • James A

      August 14th, 2014 - 9:37pm

I’m guessing these re-releases are so CO can clear their stock piles consisting of those figures, so if release Series 1-3 ones it would only be because they have figures from those Series from previous releases left in stock.

I’ll be getting this, mainly due to River but if they’re anything like the Tesco 3 packs the Rassilon may have a better paint app and, well… you can never have too many Donna’s!

Like the tesco sets before with Korwin and the jacket less captain jack
    It’s a shame we don’t get:
the waters of Mars flood figure for series 4
The mid regenerating 10th-11th doc figure in the series 5 set
The jacket less Churchill from the wedding of river song
It would sell better plus there all figures that were made but never produced

Odd choices, although, if the Narrator is here, you might aswell have thrown in the Injured 10 and the never-released, but sculpted Waters of Mars creature, and you could have a specials set, also, I really would have loved to see that Mars guy :p

have all been £9.99 before but that was a while ago

Tesco’s had them on their site for £20 and then did them half price once they had been advertised for a while

this could be a b&m thing in the Uk just done know

or they could be like the diamond classics and not come to the Uk at all
