Just noticed on Amazon you can see the spine/side of the box.it only has the D part if the logo so I’m assuming that the second part will have the W to complete the look.is that enough to make me break my OCD collection…. Not sure

Then why do you bother with these half releases anyway? 😉
I had the single vanilla releases in single amarays (which were packaged as half season boxes for series 6 and 7). Since there was no such release for series 8, I threw them all out and got the full series releases.

If you are a collector, simply avoid these ones 🙂

I don’t like Ike that look on the side so I take off the clip as it feel more like a Blu ray

Nearly had a heart attack!!! Thought the complete series box set had been scrapped. Glad to see its been announced for next year though.
It just made me wander, we didn’t get any individual volumes for series 8 ( only the deep breath dvd) , did anyone have any problems with it for completion sake( for people who only collect the volumes??) ??? There was really no excuse as they did do it for series 5??

I’m annoyed that some of the bonus features from the “Deep Breath” DVD and Blu-ray discs are not included in the full season 34 boxset, but that’s it.

I had the single UK releases, since they fitted better to each other and to the classic DVDs… I completed my collection some weeks prior to “Deep breath” and was very upset that there weren’t any amaray releases coming… so I changed them :-/

      Glad it’s not.
      It wasn’t very good.

I wish they hadn’t included “The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe” in the season 33 boxset as well. That was a rubbish episode.

Just thought they included them, regardless of how good or bad they were

That’s like saying, “Love and Monsters wasn’t very good so it shouldn’t be on the Series Two boxset.”

It’s still part of the series, so it should be included.

    Odd… I don’t recall Series 8 getting Part 1 and 2 releases?

that’s because it was shown as a whole series, this seems to pose the possibility of series 9 being shown in two parts with the christmas special between episodes 6 and 7 🙁

Series 9 has started much later than the last couple of Autumn/Winter starts and finishes 3 weeks before Xmas (12 episodes) As the BBC would want to cash in on Christmas I guess it’s easier for them to get out a hald series early (November is usually the ideal time) To realease the second half next year (and I assume a full set shortly after) they can include the Xmas episode (perhaps…..)

I don’t really see the point of releasing the series in two parts, the complete boxset is usually released before Christmas anyway. Might as well wait for it to be available fully.

No doubt this is so they don’t miss out on the christmas sales. Usually the boxset is released by then. I’m just gonna wait for the full boxset.

I did think it a bit odd running a whole series til two weeks before christmas… But that doesn’t make sense because if the christmas special is meant to be set between episodes 6 and 7 then wouldn’t they have filmed that long ago before filming the series finale?!

Parts? This sounds like it’ll be split…

They are not splitting the broadcast of series 9, it’s set to run unbroken for 12 Saturdays til early December. I do wonder if splitting the DVD/BluRay release of it is to maximise the pre-Christmas sales window – otherwise the earliest they could put a whole season box out would be after the finale airs on Dec 12th. Monday 14th Dec as a release date gives them less than a 2 week window… Also, it’s rumoured there will be another ‘year off’ for the show next year so maybe these split sets give them something to release in 2016, when there may not be a new series?

I Make it December 5th, but even then that’s short notice for Xmas…
