Doctor Who Mini Titans Have Landed!

Doctor Who Mini Titans Have Landed!

Titan Merchandise is proud to announce our first wave of Doctor Who Titans vinyl figures, arriving in stores this December.

Celebrate the intrepid Time Lord with this unique collaboration between BBC Worldwide and Titan Merchandise, featuring a ‘multiverse’ of figures to collect!

Curated by world-renowned vinyl designer Lunartik, this 16-character adult collectable set (including four super-rare “chase” figures) is based on the global hit TV show Doctor Who and includes stylised interpretations of Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, his amazing time-and-spacecraft, the TARDIS and some of his most notorious foes – including the supremely evil Daleks and the inhuman Cybermen.

Each vinyl figure is 3″ tall and several designs come with character-specific accessories.

All figures are blind-boxed, adding to the mystery and excitement of hunting down all 16 designs.

Available from specialist retailers throughout the UK from 19th December 2012.

If you are lucky enough to track down a Dalek figure – please see the step by step guide for their assembly.

I got a Dalek figure… can I get the arms and eye to stay in the holes ? No chance. The rare ones seem to be the 11th Doctor in various shirts and a green windowed Tardis.

There are instructions on their website of how you have to assemble it, you need to heat the top half of the Dalek in hot water first, then put them in which should keep them in place.

As for the rares, there are four. The Eleventh Doctor in his blue shirt, and variants of the TARDIS, a Cyberman and an Ood.

Went to Forbidden Planet today. There are loads of these figures, but I just could not face spending £160 on a box with no guarantee of a set.

I don’t know what to do. I can actually afford them, but that is not the point, I have read on other forums that die-hard older collectors like myself find this the last straw.

These are simply terrible value for money and the concept of blind packing them is appalling.

As a die hard collector for 25 years and on and off for 10 before that, I am becoming disenchanted by these actions…

Totally agree with you! I was prepared to get a full set & buy a sealed case – But looking at the photos of the boxes they appear to be glued down & not the tuck-in type. I’m not prepared to spend out a fortune blind-packed, so my money will go elsewhere. I predict these will be future peg-warmers, as I certainly won’t buy them as they are.
Probably have to go on ebay instead!

Tried my luck and brought one from Forbidden Planet this evening… I got the Tardis. Reminds me a bit of a dog toy ! Very expensive if you want to find the whole set I would imagine.

Actually I’m a bit surprised the BBC have not licensed any animal toys?

A dog-chew Tardis would be great or an Adipose on a string for the cat…

if you add this up: they are £8 each, and there are 16 to collect (assuming you don’t get the same one millions of times) 8×16=£126! that is the LEAST we are expected to pay for a collection of these, the LEAST!

Not as far as I’m aware, but the twelve figures that were initially announced are the normal ones, but the other four (including that blue shirted Eleventh Doctor) are the rare ones (there’s another TARDIS, Ood and Cyberman but the variants aren’t known).

      December 20th, 2012 - 5:22pm

      Probably be:

      Nephew Ood with green eyes/Orb
      Dematerialising TARDIS (seethrough)
      Cyber Leader

Theae are soooo cheap looking, they are just printed on, and the Tardis looks like something out of DW Adventures, and the doctor looks just weird!

Except i doubt that they are lego compatible, or can be decapitated. They are awesome, but i find them too expensive, and probably should be collected just for fun. Expensive and Blind-Boxed i don’t think this is going to be that popular.

    • The Driver

      December 20th, 2012 - 3:55pm

Well, yes and no. They are like cb figures because they are blind packed and you have to build them. But these figures are bigger than cb and more expensive.

      December 20th, 2012 - 4:01pm

i WOULD buy them if they weren’t blind-boxed. i would have to spend £100s of pounds to collect them all

    December 19th, 2012 - 7:42am

The Doctor is bigger than the TARDIS! I quite like the look of these, might get some. But I think that the idea of blind boxing them is a bad one – I want to know what I’m getting, especially if it costs £8 each – it’s too much to end up with doubles! At that price each, it’s wasteful to end up with the same one twice. Apart from the blind boxing, I really like them.

I might get 1or 2 but it is way too costly to get any doubles, you would be taking them back to the shop and i doubt there is anyway of telling which are which in these boxes.

do be honnest i dont think theres much wrong with doing if its simply boxed and i mean £8

    • Radburn

Unfortunately the boxes are glued down. Also inside the box the figures are sealed in a foil pouch. Obviously not taking any chances!

So I’m guessing that the Blue Bowtie Doctor is one of the “Mystery” figures then? As it’s picture on the first image, and then a red one in the second 🙂

I’m sure I;m gonna pick a few of these up, they look too good to miss out on. And I asked my local FP about these and they said they would be unboxing them all, and selling them that way, but at different prices, which is fair enough I guess, just means I will be paying a bit extra, but won’t be getting any doubles!

I think we need to club together as a fandom collective and encourage vendors to open them. I’ll happily buy a set, or a box if a set is guaranteed, but at £8 a pop it is too costly for any of us to have doubles. Even a swapping community will lead to disappointment with lost items in the post. Fair enough to not get a swapped trading card, but an £8 figure is a different matter.

I have already read elsewhere that blind packets infuriate ardent collectors, and this set has gone too far. Even some vendors I’ve spoken to agree…
