It survived fine last time. Commercial circumstances are different these days (all print magazines are suffering) so well have to wait and see but if Tom spilsbury had an idea about what was about to happen when the Disney deal fell through then I imagine (apologies for this one) that the moment has been prepared for…

If i remember correctly the only new who we got in 1990 was the mission to magnus target book. Not the greatest story to represent a whole year!

Oh it’s a fun read but even in 1985 it wou,d have been considered a bit old-fashioned in its attitudes.

Been up in the attic today and found a huge box full of old DWMs. Some oldies ! It’s fascinating reading some of the previews and musings about forthcoming adventures such as Mark Of The Rani and The Two Doctors. Scary really as looking through them transported me right back to the mid 80s. And that doesn’t feel that long ago.

      Very good….!
I nearly fell off my chair when the Master suddenly appeared in Mark of the Rani….for the past year, I had thought he was dead….
And the Sontarans were brilliant in The Two Doctors….

No, no, it’s a flipped photo from Dalek Invasion, it’s a photo of it partly submerged in the water, and you can also tell its from Dalek Invasion because of the white eyestalk lens:

Death Daleks are good, but my ultimate (non 60s) favourite is or are the white and gold Revelation Daleks….
And the whole Tranquil Repose story….

Doesn’t do much for me….a matt, grey Dalek….not a single reflective surface on it….
      Come from the planet Karfel….?

      May 28th, 2026 - 5:31pm

Its not matt grey war chief, its a black and white photo

    • War Chief.

      May 28th, 2026 - 6:21pm

Are you sure…? It looks kind of…odd…
      Even the Daleks don’t shine….

      May 28th, 2026 - 6:42pm

That is definitely a black and white photo from the first dalek story.

It’s a photo from Dalek Invasion of Earth with the base trimmed.

    • Amypondfan

      May 28th, 2026 - 8:22pm

Definitely from the first dalek story. They had the slim base.

No, no, it’s definitely a flipped photo from Dalek Invasion. You can tell because of the white eyestalk iris. Actually, it’s got a slim base in the photo, because it’s from the Episode 1 cliffhanger of the Dalek rising from the water. Tried to send a link to the photo on Tragical History Tour but the comment had to be monitored, but it’s towards the end of Dalek Invasion’s publicity still gallery on there.

      May 28th, 2026 - 8:54pm

Definitely from Invasion of Earth. The Daleks in the first story all had black eyes whilst the ones in Invasion all had white / silver.

      Fair enough
