How entitled some people are. Just be grateful that we Han an anniversary special and that the series and magazine are both still going. Of course the 50th anniversary is bigger than the 60th, but with different showrunners RTD is getting the chance to put his stamp on the show; if he’d had a chance to do the 50th, then surely he’d have similar ideas as to what he’s doing now. I for one think they could and should have done more with the 50th in terms of including the classic Doctors apart from one small scene.

I have loads of posters from DWMs over the years. Never put one in my wall. Who are the posters for? Does anybody appreciate them? Or is it just an extra few quid for nothing?

i’ve always had at least one poster up in my bedroom starting from my early teen years, either it being video games,tv shows or pop groups i like. Maybe you grew up with the rule of not sticking things on the best wallpaper and it just stuck with you.

One side of the first poster is The meep the other with most of the characters from the 3 specials. Poster 2 has the Day of the Doctor and World enough and Time and the other side of that is the Empty child and Blink.

I think its safe to say this isn’t going to be on the same wavelength as the 50th Anniversary mag, which is okay but a little disappointing maybe…

If you put stock in anniversaries then surely 50th is a more major event that 60th?

Would you bemoan a lack of 64th anniversary special too? 50, 75 and 100 are fine. Don’t forget they’re also expected to do their own DWM anniversary special too for the mag first being published, and then acknowledge every 100 issues with a special.

What would you even put in it?

AXC, don’t be that guy. It’s a legitimate comment.

rich: respectfully, AXC’s reply is a legitimate one. The tone isn’t antagonistic and it is strange how arbitrary milestones are celebrated. Even the biggies like the 50th. What’s so remarkable about 50?

I think AxC’s comment about a “64th anniversary special” is antagonistic and ridiculous, generally anniversaries tend to end in 0s and 5s. It’s interesting as the 20th Anniversary in retrospect (I was not around then!) seemed huge. Having this DWM in hand it’s an incredibly exciting issue in terms of the new episodes, hype and anticipation. But I wouldn’t call the tone of it celebratory, more focused on the new era and exclusive ‘sneak-peek’ content. Which maybe after that being lacking in the last few years, is entirely the right tone to have…

quite shocked that for the 60th Anniversary Issue essentially – doesn’t include a Big Finish freebie or something (I recently got the newest Humble Bundle and whilst the majority of the Graphic Novels I had after buying their previous one years ago, £14 for several more Audio Adventures, a massive selection of the Doctor Who: Adventures in Space and Time Role-playing Game (including Source books for Doctors 1-12) it kind of makes up for the lack now, but even if the Christmas Issue offers the BF adaption of ‘The Star Beast’ as a nice little extra bonus, 3 versions of the tale to celebrate Beep the Meep.

True but you do get quite a lot in the package – another two giant posters plus an extra mag (‘Starbeast supplement’) which I’m guessing will feature the 1979 DWW comic strip of it).

When it says two posters is that what it means, two. Or is it simply a double sided one.

I haven’t received my subscribers copy yet.

Noted/agreed, although I appreciate how sensitive this point might be to a number of regular contributors to this forum! IMO and based on a lunchtime flick through, it looks a really good ‘standard issue’, but with posters included. I do though keep thinking ‘ but it IS the 60th!’ Heaven knows what the cost of it would be if it did include lots of ‘bells & whistles’ too. Perhaps that is why it is what it is (and with Issue 600 just around the corner too)?

Mine just arrived. It is 2 posters, both are double sided.
One is Beep the Meep just like last issues cover, and the newly released poster of the Specials.

Other poster is for each poll winner, so The Empty Child & Blink one side, Day of the Doctor & World Enough and Time on the other.

      Thanks, Batman.

My copy turned up at around 3pm. The post round here is really late today.

Great cover as well. The one shown on this listing is nowhere to be seen with the subscribers copy. Lol.

100%, as Snowman says this is just the card/polybag to hold the poster and the magazine cover will be sans text, and quite possibly a different cover entirely.

I’ve got a feeling it won’t be the Cover. Whenever theirs a Poster included the Magazine usually comes in a bag. I should imagine this is the “bag” on display.
The Actual Cover will have no writing on I bet and could be different.
