Subscriber copy arrived today. I suspect with the situation with Royal Mail this may be the last one early/on time for a while….

Love that Jason Flemyng isn’t embarrassed at all by his Dad’s two Dalek films and instead is one of their greatest supporters. Kudos.

      An excellent issue too.

Nice to see Kevin Lyons write an article. Marcus Hearn is getting all his Hammer Horror mates involved.

Ngl, the Ncuti reveal issue had far too much about the Dalek movies as it is, I don’t see what another issue seemingly full of content could add ><

These features were meant for that issue but were pushed back because of the Ncuti announcement.

The Flying Shark, that issue – in the end – limited itself to just the features (mainly) surrounding June’s release of Dr Who and The Daleks. They had planned to put all the movie features they had prepared into that issue, but then needed space for all the big news that broke in early May about Ncuti, the 60th etc. So they looked at it, thought, the other Dalek movie is released mid-July, we can hold those over ’til then. So these features are more about the Second movie.

Gorgeous cover and coverage of the film that never was should be really fascinating. It sounds bizarre and scotches the myth that it was to have been an adaptation of ‘The Chase’! Looking forward to this edition.

It was going to be the chase (based on) with Cushing but got cancelled after the second film did not make enough cash.

The greatest adventure is from years later in the 1980s or there abouts.

Cushingeffe, it will be interesting to see what the article says. Milton Subotsky’s two sons were in a Q&A at the double bill showing at the BFI Southbank a month ago and talked about their dad’s rough outline for a third film and that it wasn’t based on the Chase after all but a repurposed Hammer script (I think) that might not have involved the Daleks at all but giant killer crabs and has the working title of ‘Doctor Who’s Greatest Adventure’ – they even brought a manuscript along with them…
