Mine has arrived on day of release for the 1st time since subscribing in March but the last 2 issues have only been a day late so very pleased with there service considering all the disruption in the delivery service at the moment.
An absolutely lovely cover by far the best for a while.

Well I know Colin and Peter are involved but I don’t want to pre-order the series without having the full facts

Wait, August issue? It’s not even July yet, how is it so off the date? I know the dates on magazines are usually a few weeks from the actual date, but still, were in June and this is saying August

its “magazine” thing, i believe its classed as “current” until the end of August at which time unsold stock can be returned, or that used to be the case some years ago not sure if that still happens?

That still happens boo boo and the last issue had July on the cover, they are always a month or so ahead.

Love the cover and more intrigued by the content. Death to the daleks set tour ? Unseen behind the scenes photos ?
Also mentions the night walkers… so TV Comic reprint of the strip ? The ice warriors are coming back ? What did we think of the last season ?
Normally everyone more concerned that the cover is photoshopped properly rather then if its worth reading.

I think ‘Ice warriors return’ is a reference to the Fact of Fiction being about Cold War from Season 7? And yes over the next 3 issues, they are reprinting TV Comic’s final 2nd Doctor story, exactly as you say.

The Night Walkers won’t be a reprint, it’ll just be the Apocrypha feature which looks at obscure Doctor Who stories from anything but TV basically, and the Ice Warrior feature will be the Fact of Fiction on Cold War.

I’d love to see the Abslom Daak strips reprinted in glorious colour now that the normal strip is taking a rest.

The Flying Shark – not sure if you read the editorial in the last issue but Marcus Hearn did say they will be reprinting the Night Walkers to cover the 3 month layoff of the regular 13th Doctor strip (to save on costs as the current pandemic has battered its sales with WHS closing etc. Could be worse, Classic Pop has completely audiences publication for 3 months.

In the last issue, it said “It’s the final straw for the second doctor”, implying regeneration. There was also a picture of the second doctor regenerating. Does this mean this issue will have all 6 pages, or will it be spread an issue (2 pages of TV comic was 1 part) a month, covering the three months?

    • Gareth Pugh

      June 26th, 2020 - 10:32am

Well, I stand corrected – the Night Walkers coverage is only as a two-page article about it in the regular ‘Apocrypha’ strand. Funny, I could have sworn they said they were reprinting the actual strip. Hey-ho!

There is a rumor that at the end of the year we are ether going to see season 2 or season 11

It’s a shame that hardly anyone is still alive from the cast or crew of S11. Franklin and Levene are going to be lonely on that sofa.

      June 22nd, 2020 - 4:57pm

Theres no rule on who joins them though, so they could just get Katy to sit, discuss and laugh along with ‘her Boys’.

This makes me hope the Season 11 set is announced tomorrow just before subscribers get their copy as the magazine will cover it.

      Wishful thinking I know.

I would love to see them get Sean Pertwee in on the Sofa, they got Elizabeth Sladen’s daughter, why not Pertwee’s son? It would be awesome to see what he thinks of the show.

I,d love old and new doctors looking over, discussing and summing up each others seasons. Imagine Tom watching season 24.

Slightly off topic… I recently re-watched ‘Bo Selecta’ and Sean is on an episode of Series 1. This is back in 2002 and kept telling Avid Merrian “No Questions about my Dad”.

But yes. I would love him to be on the Set in some way. I hope we get Jon’s 100th Birthday Podcast Tribute featuring Sean too.

I’ve always wondered if they asked him to play 3rd in ‘An Adventure In Space and Time’ before Gatis stepped in?

What a fabulous cover. I literally watched this Saturday morning, and loved the story. Seen it so many times since original VHS release.

    Looking forward to this issue
