Getting the Dalek one. The Dinosaur one is a bit wrong. There wasn’t a big T-rex in this episode, there was a juvenilee one, sleeping.

And the DWM cover has a big one yelling out of the cover ! 😯

So the Dalek one is fine.

I like the “Dinosaurs” cover the most. It’s a shame I received the one I dislike, ATCM (I’m a subscriber). I wish they’d make a subscribers-only edition for multi-cover issues, since we can’t choose which one we want.

That’s one of the many reasons I don’t subscribe.

They should throw in a free gift, but all they have is a discount. Not interested.

Well, after a long thought, I bought this issue! 😀

Which cover did I get? No, not the silly one with The Reckoner that looks like it has holes on it. No, not the damaged Dalek. The Dinosaur cover! 🙂

I have to say, very good read, but nothing can beat DWMI. 😀

Ahem. The holes are bullets for the Western theme. Also how is DWMI better than DWM may I ask?

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:25pm

I know Esterath, but I dislike the ATCM one.

How is MI better? Just because I love it, collecting the cards is awesome and I enjoy reading the magazine. I’m not saying DWM is bad, it’s just it contains a bit too much of Classics, which annoyed me a bit. Still, enjoying reading it! 🙂

    • Esterath

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:47pm

Well without the Classic series you wouldn’t have Nu-Who. And technically, I prefer Classic series over Nu-Who.

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:56pm

      Well I don’t, so it ain’t that good when I don’t even know what I’m reading. 😐 ….

Ahem! You prefer the Classics? All those weak effects and fake costumes?! Geez, and I thought Classics weren’t as popular as NuWho. Weird…

    • booboo

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:58pm

got to admit i prefer them

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:01pm

It’s not about the weak effects and fake costumes (although I don’t get what you mean by fake. ??), it’s about the acting and the story. 🙂

    • booboo

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:02pm

yep, yet to see anything that can beat talons of weng chiang for pure atmosphere and brilliant acting all round

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:05pm

Oh Give me a Dalek any Day, sorry for using the word fake. I ment to say that they look unrealistic. Don’t know why I said fake! 😳

Still, it’s weird to think someone that prefers Classics, which considering to NuWho, it’s quite weak. I know it’s about the story, but if you get better effects and everything in NuWho, then of course you’ll prefer that!

    • booboo

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:10pm

the effects are just advances in technology, its all about the story and the way it comes over, yes new who is fast paced for today’s audience and does its job very well but i can sit through numerous classics again and again more than anything since 2005. but that’s me, i’m sure there are many the other way around

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:06pm

And I have yet to see a Cyberman story that can beat Tomb or Earthshock. 😀

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:11pm

Oh I feel like watching a Classic. Which one should I watch? (Apart from Daleks)

    • booboo

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:12pm

      tomb of the cybermen

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:11pm

It’s fine. 🙂 I will admit there are some costumes that are a bit odd. 😉

Yes, NuWho does generally have good effects (there have been some dodgy moments, though), but on a few occasions the story tends to be put in the background in favour of the CGI. One of the reasons why I’m a bit concerned about Dinosaurs on a Spaceship is because it’s a CGI heavy episode. I’m not as worried now because it does look good, but I don’t want to raise my hopes too much. 🙂

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:14pm

Oh not again! Why do I always love the least favourites?! It happened to me last year with Night Terrors. I think Dinosaurs on a Spaceship will be great! 😀

Oh and booboo, thanks for suggesting, but I’d rather watch one that isn’t Black and White.

      the deamons

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      What’s the Deamons about?

    • booboo

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:18pm

witchcraft, Human sacrifice, devil worship and it has the master in it and the best line in Doctor Who ever (probably)

      lots about it here http://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/special-feature-doctor-who-the-daemons/

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:19pm

Earthshock (excellent Cyberman story ;)) or The Greatest Show in the Galaxy (creepy Seventh Doctor story. Very creepy). 😉

I know a lot of people that liked Night Terrors. I liked it. It was a nice, creepy, refreshing story which gave us a nice little break from the story arc. I’m not one of those that hated the arc or anything, but it was still a nice little break. 🙂

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      September 2nd, 2012 - 10:31pm

Also, I didn’t say I hated Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. I’ve accepted it as a nice light hearted adventure between two dark episodes, but I don’t want it to go too overboard on the CGI and waste, what could be, a good story. 🙂

    • Commander Strax

      September 6th, 2012 - 6:08pm

I know it might be silly but what is the line in the deamons?

    • Justjeulin

      September 11th, 2012 - 12:01am

City of Death is one of the greatest stories of all time. It was filmed in Paris, had the Doctor and Romana 2 and contained my favourite line from Doctor 4: “Is noone interested in history?!”
      Classic

    • McGann is the Doctor

      September 20th, 2012 - 12:40pm

By that logic, Arc of Infinity is one of the greatest stories of all time.

It was filmed in Amsterdam, had the Doctor and Nyssa, and contained one of my favourite funny scenes ever, when the Doctor and Nyssa are rushing through the street and one of the bystanders gets knocked over and they stop to apologise !

Seriously, Arc of Inifity is great, City of Death only had afew “running down the street” shots filmed in Paris. 😛

Brought my copy today. I decided to E-Mail Doctor Who Magazine my ‘Doctor Who: The Paradigm Daleks – Remastered’ image which you can look up on the website ‘Deviant Art’, just look for me under the same name of Doctor Who One. I’m curious if or not it will be featured in the next issue, and if Steven Moffat likes it or not if it gets shown to him, or to see what other readers think of it. Ive had some nice positive feedback already so Ive clearly done a lot of good with my Paradigm Dalek recolouring.

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:12am

Hey, not everyone likes the Paradigm Daleks, and their colour scheme happens to be one of the reasons, so if I felt I could show an improved more acceptable colour scheme then that’s what I felt I could do, and so far everyone who has seen it has felt rather postive about it so 😛

    • Esterath

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:21am

You know, I didn’t really like your remastering. It didn’t seem Dalek-y to me. I like them the way they are. Much more like the originals!

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:33am

Well you seem to be the only one who don’t like it, but that’s fine. If I was to redesign the Paradigm I wouldn’t know where to begin, but at least I could do them the favior of not looking like child friendly Teletubbies.

    • Esterath

      September 2nd, 2012 - 9:39am

Well in AOTD, they have a slightly darker colour scheme. You can see it better in DWM.

    • Anonymous

      September 2nd, 2012 - 4:07pm

Esterath I completely agree with you, and think the same. What Moffat is trying to do is make the daleks more like the originals. In fact trying to make doctor who like the original doctor who aswell. By doing stuff like making each series about 6 episodes long (well that’s what he said but people seemed to mistook that as being series 6 part 1 and 2 but he said he meant it to be series 6 then series 7 and now we’d be on series 8). Also the new daleks look very similar to the original daleks.
