Figurine Collection Magazine Time Lords Set #3
This Time Lords box set unites two influential Time Lords: Borusa and Romana. Once a tutor at the Time Lord Academy, Borusa tutored Gallifrey’s brightest minds – the Doctor and the Master included – and used his position to manipulate Time Lord politics with total cynicism. Stubborn and proud, he had a complex relationship with the Doctor – one that collapsed entirely when he descended into madness, forcing five of the Doctor’s previous incarnations to combine forces.
Romanadvoratrelundar – or Romana for short – was among the Fourth Doctor’s most famous companions. Haughty and aristocratic, Romana was assigned to watch over the Doctor. Romana made her debut in 1978, played by Mary Tamm, though she would regenerate into a new incarnation after one season.

June 15th, 2020 - 7:31pmGetting a bit frustrated at getting my figures now. I rely on my local shop who I’ve got a standing order with for the 2 weekly figures. They’re not being supplied at the moment it seems and yet I look on ebay and people have got 10 or more of the figures I am missing for sale. How are they getting these? For over 6 years I haven’t had many problems but it seems that newsagents are being let down while ebay dealers are being supplied as a priority. Am I right or am I just being paranoid?

I think they said ‘on our possible list but quite a long way behind other things we’d sooner do’. Which is fair enough, it’s their product range of course but Season 19 is a particular fave of mine and I think the Harlequin suited character would be a really nice colourful addition to the shelf

June 7th, 2020 - 11:47amI believe that under British law, an image of someone can be used as long as it’s not derogatory or disrespectful to their reputation. So could we see Edward Brayshaw as the War Chief, in any future releases of Time Lord sets?

June 11th, 2020 - 1:30amI don’t think they wiped the tapes of rentaghost because about 25 years ago I think it was called the family channel showed them and I recorded them to vhs tape because my daughter loved it and it kept her quite lol i still have the vhs tape somewhere

Anyway another very nice set indeed. Love the Romana figure. Mary Tamm is much missed and the single Big Finish series she did with Tom is wonderful.

June 2nd, 2020 - 12:51pmThey may yet do that one day. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. Eaglemoss/Hero Collector seem to have a good rapport going with Big Finish, the two Eighth Doctor companion sets seem to have been popular and successful and people are still requesting Big Finish based figurines and Neil has mentioned he hopes to do some more in the future.
Bearing in mind that there is still tonnes of doctor variants from 1963-2020 (and beyond,) Dalek variants, cybermen variants, Master/Time Lord variants, Companion variants, River Song variants, alien/robot/cyborg variants, and still characters in the show that haven’t even had a single release yet, plus Big Finish on top of that they still have enough to fill an entire new collections worth of figurines. I’m excited to see what they do on the future. I genuinely, honestly, sincerely hope we don’t stop at 200 but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did if there’s something else on the cards regarding the collection.

June 3rd, 2020 - 3:01amJackson Lake that all depends on what Actors/Actresses likeness rights or estates they can track down and gain permission. I’m sure they have tonnes of ideas of Time Lords for these box-sets if they were to extend them. The 3 (or 4?) remaining Borusas, Goth, Castellan (and the other old guy from Deadly Assassin, can’t remember his name,) classic Chancelry Guard, classic Time Lord in Gallifreyan council garb, Time Lords from War Games, Time Lords from Three Doctors, NuWho Time Lord guard/soldiers, NuWho Time Lords in Gallifreyan council garb. Literally so many ideas but it all comes down to if they can do it and if it’s financially beneficial for them as a company, profit is a big factor. I would love to see all of this and more done but we will just have to wait and see and hope.

A Time War Time Lord soldier would be cool (also a cool CO action figure) but I wouldn’t do a character that was only in the BG or had little screen time, unless they were a central character/ well loved.

I once suggested to Neil Corry a long time ago that we could have a River box-set of one River variant for the 10th and 12th Doctor’s and 2 variants for the 11th because she appeared most in his era. Would be about the same price as the 1st & 13th Doctor companion sets. Maybe they’ll consider something like this in the future. Apparently we’re getting a River Song in the main collection but it could still be a possibility.
I’d like to see a Paternoster gang in their Victorian outfits in a set (dress for Vastra, maid outfit for Jenny and butler suit for Drax) and then a battle outfit set for them (battle outfits for Vastra and Jenny and Sontaran outfit with laser blaster/cannon for Drax.)
We can only imagine what the future holds for this collection. It’s exciting to think what might be on its way.

April 27th, 2020 - 8:32pmNot sure if this will post under Mrs Croot and Anonymous’s comments but Neil Tweeted (or posted, possibly here?) back in about December when the Time Lords Series was announced that they wanted to include the War Chief but sadly they can find no living relative of Edward Brayshaw, nor any actors agency that may have represented him at the time of his death a few years back, to grant the rights.

I love that they are optional extras to add to the main collection and it’s a genius idea because it frees space for other extra figurines in the main collection whilst ensuring we get to definitely see certain characters made.
I’d love to see a season 18 Romana 2, more of the different Borusas, the male and female general from 11th and 12th’s eras, a classic time lord chancelry guard (possibly Castellan?), a nuwho time lord soldier, the different time lord’s that turned up in Big Finish. I’m sure there’s loads more but it would be phenomenal if these could be added to the collection either continuing in these time lord box-sets or in different spinoff box-sets of their own.
Either way I’m excited to add these to my display…I adore this collection.

April 17th, 2020 - 7:46pmi think they’ll do Missy and the General from Day of the Doctor/ Hell Bent as a set and a Rani with an Inquisitor as one is a 12th doctor based set and the other is 6th doctor based, like how this set is 4th doctor oriented as was the first set (technically), only odd one out would be set 2. Sacha Dhawan and Ruth will be in the main collection if they do get figures, as Eaglemoss had already decided the 5 time lord boxsets before they appeared on screen. I highly doubt any other media time lords will be in these boxsets

March 31st, 2020 - 10:00amI had seen her in quite a few of her telly roles and a few of the films she did like The Odessa file and the portmanteau horror Tales that witness madness (one of her earlier film Roles). The last thing i saw her in was as Charlie Slaters Love interest in Eastenders. When she died it was so sad especially given we,d just had an endless passing of Who Icons, Elizabeth Sladen,Nicholas Courtney and Caroline Johns, but to hear her husband passed away just after her death was just heartbreaking. Thankfully we as fans have those final Big Finish stories she got to do with Tom Baker as well as the Companion stories and we,ll always have Season 16. One of our Yorkshires finest.
