Doctor Who Figurine Collection officially Extended to “At least” 200

These “reveals” are part of #HCHappyHour

The Doctor Who Figurine Collection has been officially Extended to 200. Although it had been mentioned by various sources the news was officially announced in an interview with Doctor Who Magazine in the 2020 year book.

The collection was originally pencilled in for 70 and quickly upgraded to 80 with further extensions over the years.

Congratulations should go to all those involved in what has clearly been a highly successfully line.

2020 will see more companions sets, a new line of Time Lord sets, t shirts and prints with associated products and no doubt more surprises.

Is a Kandyman still off the cards due to the little copyright issue with Basotts? Would love to have him on my desk!!! Ive not got any of these in the past but I would make an exception for him, I might pick up one or two some day as the collection looks great!

Best collection Eaglemoss has ever done in my opinion and certainly the best Doctor Who Figurine Collection on par or better than Harrop’s. I think it’s a fact we have to face now that a Kandyman is unlikely to be a part of any companies merchandise rights, it’s just too much trouble to get permission to produce.

Within the Star Trek collection there are ships based on early but rejected designs. What are the changes that the DW Figurine Collection could do some of the early rejected designs for creatures from Doctor Who?

The Kandyman was originally a human figure with a white coat (if my memory is not cheating me). We could then have Fenric’s original Heamovore or the spider Daleks from the pre viz scenes on the TV Movie DVD. Imagine some of the early 21st century Cyberman designs becoming figures.

The original concept for the Kandyman appeared in a recent Big Finish Eighth Doctor box set so it is conceivable it could appear in that form…not quite the same but at least he would be represented.

More generally I’m so pleased the collection is continuing to at least 200. I’m holding out hope for a Krarg figurine now to go with the fabulous Nimon!

My favourite figurine is the Third Doctor from The Green Death – so well done..although the Seventh Doctor was so very well done too and the Earthshock Cyberman. I was delighted to get Koquillion and Sutekh too.

I’d really like too see Eaglemoss release these ones :–

    1. Terileptil Android!! (Without disguise)
    2. Kamelion!
    3. Kraal!
    4. More Fourth Doctor Costume Variants: Fang Rock, Zygon, Talons!
    5. Gallifreyan Guard from Classic series!
    6. Black Guardian!

Which damaged? Decapitated, Spear through arm, melted head or Puking?

Re: Damaged Cyberman figurine, I would like to see a Cyberman figurine with the spear through his arm and arms outstretched, bending back, his breastplate on fire. Iconic image that one.

Out of all those kills that could work as a figurine.

Well I commend your choice of totally classic figures Fledershrew . Well done !! More Hartnell Troughton era stuff is vastly overdue though. A lot more !

    March 28th, 2020 - 7:21pm

I’d LOVE to have these before the End.

    The Black and White Guardians
    Jackson Lake as The Doctor
4th Doctor as President of the High Council
    Santa from Last Christmas
    Eldrad
    The Brigadier
    Bessie
    State of Decay Vampire
    8th Doctor movie console
    War Doctor console
    The Rani with her console

Also a Big Deluxe version of The Domed Galifrey (New Series) would be a perfect end this the whole collection.

Jackson lake and the black guardian would be great.
Unfortuantly you have to remember the only “human” characters Eaglemoss do are the doctorand the master. For packs they also do timelords and companions.
People such as Grant the Ghost, the Pirate Captain and Colony Sarff, for example, are exceptions as their face are considered covered or changed enough to not ask permission from the actor.
Then again I am looking at my collection there is an early exception for Rassilon and I know they are doing a second, so high hopes I suppose…

If you take a look on the Doctor Who figurine collection Facebook page there’s a list of potential figurine ideas from issue 201-300 and there are still some amazing ideas left to do for every Doctor’s era. That list doesn’t include multiple Dalek and Cybermen variants that are still left to do either so there’s potential to go beyond 300.

I’m not sure how they’ll decide to keep this collection going if they want to. It’ll be interesting to see if they’ll decide to keep extending it, give the collection a break for a year or two and then start it up again for the 60th anniversary & 10th anniversary respectively or release figurines in box-sets once the main collection ends at 200. I’m very excited to see what happens, I’ve supported this collection and its various spinoffs/exclusive box-sets since the beginning and premium subscribed right at the start in 2013 and I would be absolutely thrilled if it could continue for as long as possible. It would be marvellous if the collection was still running to celebrate the shows 60th anniversary which also happens to be the same year as the collection’s 10th anniversary, how amazing is that?

Having said all that I am still immensely grateful for what we do have and consider myself extremely lucky. This collection is wonderful and once it has finished I’m sure it will be regarded as one of the best Doctor Who Figurine collections ever.

Basil Funkenstein, I’m completely guessing here but I think one of your theories – that it might end the regular partwork at 200 (or some point) but then retain a licence to do side releases, box sets, specials etc will continue. They confirmed on Twitter last night that this is pretty much what will be happening with their Star Trek line – partwork has a not extending after 180 but tons more standalone models being released well into 2021.

Got notice that at the moment issues are going from bi-weekly (fortnightly) to every 3 weeks due to the delays from China for the foreseeable future to “expected delivery delays” from issue 173

So if eaglemoss does end at 200 for the dw collection (please don’t because I will cry), there’s about 20 spaces left (if you count the ambassador of death and the watcher that is planned for the last release), so my 20 would be in no order:

    Dreg
    Lone Cyberman
2020 cyberman, (don’t know if they’d do the version seen floating in space with the 2020 body and 2006 head)
    Cybermaster
    Sacha Dhawans master
    Ruth doctor
Skithra queen (unless it’s too big cause I don’t know about the tail and whatever)
    Tractator
    Melkur
    Foamasi
    Hieronymous
    Eldrad
    Clockwork soldier from mind robber
    Skovox blitzer
    Peg doll
    Headless monk
(I think a roboman was planned) so Roboman
    Solonian mutt
(Allowing for time in 2021 a) revolution of the daleks recon dalek
And finally Donna noble with time beetle on back (like lin with dalek mutant)

The 3 special daleks could include:
1.Open Dalek Sec in daleks in Manhattan
2.Revolution 2005 dalek with new claw attachment similar to the 170 rare dalek
    3.Clara in dalek
4.Destroyed dalek from into the dalek (similar to resurrection mutant dalek)
    5.Revelation grey dalek
    6.2005 claw arm dalek
    7.2005 open dalek from dalek
    8.Trapped dalek from hell’s bent
    I’d probably choose 1, 8 and a toss between 5 and 3

    What are everybody else’s ideas?

Well theres two Eldrad variants and King Rokon there and a few pegdolls and i would most definitely want Sarah Jane and that spider on the back, so that with Donna is a duo pack there.

      Auton policeman
      Krynoid
      Hieronymous
      Kraal
      Black quardian
      Foamasi
      Borad

Some companion sets that would be cool, to minimise doctor variants could be:
1 in cape, Vicki and Steven as a time meddler set
1, dodo, Ben and polly as a war machines set
2 with Victoria from fury from the deep/ 2 as salamander as an enemy of the world set
2 with Zoe from the invasion or the war games
3 with liz, brig and sgt benton from any season 7 story
3 with jo and Mike Yates from any story (love Jo’s costumes as much as 3s
(Possibly 3 with Sarah Jane with spider on back like the lin dalek mutant- and we get another Sarah Jane- win win)
4 with harry from terror of the zygons
4 with leela, any story possibly invasion of time
5 with adric, nyssa and tegan, any story
5 with suit turlough and androzani peri
      6 with mel
      7 brown coat with ace
8 with molly/ helen or river song
9 with doctor dances Rose (ik we’ve had rose but I’d like a series one or two variant)
10 blue suit with martha and Donna (and wilf maybe)- dream set right here
      11 green coat with rory
      11 purple coat with river
12 red coat with Clara (under the lake or face the raven)
12 grey coat or tattered twice upon a time coat with nardole
