Thank you very much. I’ve become obsessed with checking this site for updates in recent weeks, mostly for news of when the 2nd wave of FX daleks, and further twin packs will be released (including this mysterious dalek with the 3rd doctor). However shall I fill my days when merchandise calms down again after the 50th.

    Hi!

Just to let you all know, we cover launches in America, so it launches in September in American comic shops. The release date for the UK may well be in August, as Doctor Who is British, and you get most Doctor Who things before we do!

    Much regards,

Well this is contradictory as there is a rumor going around that this collection will launch in August (including one comment on here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Doctor-Who-Figurine-Collection-Magazine/125947807583337?fref=ts a fan page for the collection, who says customer services told them that and not September as this site suggests.

I have not emailed customer services as they are useless and ignore you as I emailed them a couple of weeks ago, and they only answered the question about where my replacements were(awaiting stock from

publisher) and ignored my questions on if subscribers will get issues 4/5 and if they knew if the test was successful and would launch nationally.

Although I did ask EM on there facebook last week “Just wondering if you had any update/news regarding the Doctor Who Figurine collection?as there is a new rumor going round the internet and I am dying to know if its true or not. I suspect you can’t/won’t confirm, but I thought I would ask anyway, as I am so excited for this collection, I take any rumor to be true.”

    • cjayp33

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:41pm

there reply: “Hi there Callum! We haven’t had any news yet. Keep an eye on the FB page for any updates Many thanks, EM”

Makes me wonder who is running that page, as I thought it was by somebody who works for Eaglemoss , but clearly not as they say we have not had any news yet, when surely they do, as they are the publishers of the collection. its the we havent that makes me reach this conclusion as surely it would have been better to say we have no news/updates yet, so I think customer services now runs the page?

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:46pm

this is the problem, preview world have September, someone has been told by eaglemoss August yet they say they have no news.

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:42pm

Again its just what we read else-ware and so many different stories – i know people who subscribed and never got anything

If this indeed launching in September why has this info turned up on a USA preview site. Surely they should tell their actually customers first.

I was told 10 weeks ago to expect issues 4-5 with 21 days as they were waiting for stock, they never arrived and since then i have sent 2 more emails and got no reply.

I really dont understand why they cant just tell people what’s going on – we are the customers after all and we just want the truth.

    • cjayp33

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:47pm

I should point out that partworks are released in set periods (late december to march, end of august to end of sepetember) so its more then likely that it will launch in one of these months.

Yes it is annoying they don’t tell us customers what is going on, and when people email about issues its always we are out of stock/awaiting stock from the publishers. Personally I don’t think we will get our remaining issues if the collection is launching in 2 months as they are/will want to prepare for the national launch.

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:49pm

if they want to get with the 50th hype they need to do it in September as things will be hotting up the for the best exposure

    • drjakeyoung

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:48pm

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:53pm

yes but we want the stuff – I just dont think we should get the launch date from a USA previews site – if its true and that what they have decided to do subscribers should have got a letter explaining what’s happening.

As i have said before many people will have bought the magazines in newsagents and then subscribed without having any idea it was just a test.

    • drjakeyoung

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:57pm

in my opinion there are now far too many Doctor Who collections out there… Card games, action figures, DVD+Magazine collections etc… too many! I’ve stopped collecting Doctor Who stuff now because it’s becoming too much, costing too much money, becoming a big of a boring hobby… Nowadays I’d much rather sit down and build an airfix model…

same here in some aspects mate lol, having a big collection myself, i have enjoyed every second, but it was costly, never the less a lot of it was worth it, but now days i have completely slowed down, only something every few weeks, and i certainly not getting any 3.75 inch figures – really dont like them – but i do love airfix models lol and i do have the doctor version 🙂

i agree, i personally think there should only be the dvd range, about half a dozen books a year, big finish doing all of the audios including new adventures with 11 and so on and thats about it

    • Alex The Geek

      June 22nd, 2013 - 6:44am

But you don’t have to buy everything. As Doctor Who gets a bigger and bigger fanbase (both in UK and the rest of the world) more and more people will want to buy things. Everybody is different and everybody will want different things. For example an eight year old kid isn’t going to want a big chunky hard back book about the making of Doctor Who.

    • Javert

      June 22nd, 2013 - 11:25am

that’s not the point though.. the point is there’s way too much Doctor Who merch on the shelves, and half of it isn’t being sold and retailers are starting to hate Doctor Who merchandise… I mean take the Talking Daleks wave, only FP is getting the second batch because other retailers said no…

    • booboo

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 1:06pm

i have always found some of the distribution quite strange, our Tesco’s never has any Doctor Who stuff at all apart from a token figure or two and a sonic screwdriver, they never had any of the 3 figure sets they had as exclusives.

we have one toy shop now that had 3 new 3.75″ figures and no sets, that’s all

There may be tons of merchandise but you can’t buy it if you live here

    • drjakeyoung

      June 22nd, 2013 - 2:55pm

same here booboo. Only toy shop we do have is in the town center and they want £10 for one 3.75″ figure! THAT’S RIDICULOUS!

That is the only place in Banbury that sells Dr who figures, not even Tesco – Sainsbury’s – Morrison’s sell anything Dr who related. And the only DVD SHOP IS HMV, and we all know they are extremely over priced.

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2013 - 3:06pm

      not just toys though

I really like a lot of the Zeon stuff, the mugs tea pots etc and cant wait to see the Toby type mugs but as far as i know there inst one place in Cheltenham you can buy any of it

    • Big D

      June 24th, 2013 - 10:48am

Yep, Ive largely stopped collecting apart from the Classic Series stuff – and thats darned expensive as its mainly via F.P so even there I have to be very selective.
Im afraid I wont be buying any of the 3.75 figures aswell.
Dont think I’ll be getting this collection apart from the first issue (to go along with all the other first issues I havent looked at).
Anyway, when are we going to get a collection similar to the 11 Doctor Tardis set featuring Classic series assistants?

No, the Company used by Eaglemoss to distribute the magazines is useless. I have had 3 seperate Subscriptions from them & they have always caused problems. If I did not have to subscibe to get the Subscriber Only Products – I would not bother with a Subscription…

    • Bow Tie Wearing Stranger

      June 28th, 2013 - 10:47am

      Agreed.
Took out a subscription, received confirmation then nothing more was heard.
Then, unexpectedly (after issue 5 had hit the shops) received issues 2&3 – but they were damaged!.
Sent in a query about getting them replaced and when would issues 4&5 be sent.
Received a reply saying ‘still waiting on stock’ & no more issues 2&3 available.
To be fair though, payment wasn’t taken for the damaged issues.
I only hope they change the packaging used when the series is launched. The thin plastic+address label they use offers no protection.

      June 28th, 2013 - 10:55am
