Okay, if you re-release 10th’s ever again, it had better be more accurate, and it had better have the button on the slide. Not that hard to do. Just a couple more plastic pieces and you’re on your way to selling millions.

You know, if you want a sonic that as accurate as possible without having to pay over £100, you could just get the universal remote control by the Wand Company.

      Just a thought.

      Although I wouldn’t mind seeing:

2nd Doctor Sonic (Yeah we all know that will never happen)
The Master’s Laser Screwdriver (seen it rereleased already, but better than Tenth’s am I right?)
The War Doctor’s Screwdriver (We only have it released as ‘The Other Doctor’s’
Jackson Lake’s Screwdriver (A Normal Screwdriver, but rather it in plastic then buying an actual Screwdriver)

      Sonic Lance
      2nd Doctor Sonic Screwdriver
      enough said.

I am also a great fan of the functioning sonic screwdrivers such as the UV pen, LED torch, pens etc.
Beyond the realm of toys, I like the tools such as the actual screwdriver (eleventh doctors) and cutter.

It would be nice to have one with a functioning laser pointer or another with a laser tape measure or spirit level.
Sonic tool for the Doctor, sonic tools for fans:)

The ‘machine that goes ding’ would be far to big for this sort of range, and would require a lot more mechanics and the likes. Great idea, but it would need to be a solo release, and a lot more expensive than these sonics!

And sadly, Second Doctor sonic won’t happen it seems, I am longing for one so I could complete the collection, but I don’t think they have plans to make one for multiple reasons, otherwise it would be out by now!

I was thinking when I’ve finished my exams I might try my hand at making a 2nd Doctor sonic – it looks quite simple, but I’m certain it will be the opposite when I try – like colour-by-numbers, am I the only one that’s terrible at those things!?!

Why CO why?!?!, Give something that we haven’t seen yet as all its been is repeating the same items over and over again and just changing the slightest little thing. Why call it wave 4 when it is the same sort of screwdrivers from wave 3 with the edition of a bogo standard River Song Screwdriver with the wrong basic emitter, again…..WHY?? I would even be happy if the next screwdriver to be released is to be the 2nd Doctors because at least it would be something NEW and not just a re-use of an old sculpt which im pretty tired of seeing. So overall we need something NEW!!!

      March 8th, 2015 - 7:23pm

its been said time and time again that each wave is to replenish sold out stock with some slight variation each wave without is being the same all the time for the mass high volume market

there are no more high profit sonics that would fit into the £9.99 “retailers offers” price bracket ie: 2 for £15

you are not going to get a brand new tooled 2nd doctor screwdriver in this range.

    • the astronaut of death

      March 8th, 2015 - 7:36pm

I don’t see the point of these waves …… They should just make more

    • booboo

      March 8th, 2015 - 7:38pm

the retailers do which why we are now in wave 4, they are mass market high profit allowing offers such as 2 for £15 etc cosy play items for casual buyers and not aimed at the core collectors market

    • the astronaut of death

      March 8th, 2015 - 7:48pm

But surley CO could think of the fans for once instead of the retailers …..

    • booboo

      March 8th, 2015 - 8:35pm

CO are a business, they sell to retailers not to fans.

If you want something you actually need to persuade the retailers to buy it.

    • the astronaut of death

      March 8th, 2015 - 8:36pm

But when selling to retailers , they could sell what the fans want .

Its all about money these days .

    • booboo

      March 8th, 2015 - 8:46pm

yes it is all about money and profit which is why your not getting what the “fans” want, because there aren’t enough fans to make a lot of it viable.

Unfortunately very few people have any idea of how mass marketing works and the investments involved for any new product.

We all should know if retailers dont order we dont get, thats why numerous products shown at the toy fairs never made it to market and why the 5″ mass market line is no more

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      March 9th, 2015 - 8:09am

We’ll, Character are a business, so it HAS to be all about the money. If they did things based on what fans have asked them to, chances are they would have gone bankrupt years ago.

I still don’t understand why they would release River Songs screwdriver with only ONE light!… The red one… Nothing else… Why not stick to the original with blue and red and the “life readout”? That’s the one that everyone wants. The last time they did this people bought it and were very disappointed that it didn’t have all he lights….
Also, why release a 11th Doctors screwdriver that doesn’t extend?? The 11th Doctor is famous for extending his screwdriver. I just don’t get it?!

because they wouldn’t fit into the sub £10 “offers” price bracket that retailers want for this line as has been said on numerous occasions

River Songs sonic was re-released but confined to the USA

    • DerangedAsylumDalek

      February 25th, 2015 - 1:06pm

The 12th Doctor apparently doesn’t extend his sonic screwdriver. They should recall it the 12th doctors sonic. Also there seems to be a few re-released Riversong sonics with red and blue lights in Australia.

My opinions on next waves of sonic screwdrivers:
    Second doctor s sonic screwdriver
Sarah Jane s sonic lipstick re- release
Sixth doctor s device ( Attack of the cybermen )
Ninth\tenth s doctor sonic screwdriver but slider is the activated button
Missy s device ( dark water / death in heaven)
    Master s laster screwdriver

Second Doctor – maybe but unlikely
Sonic lipstick – apparently there isn’t the market for it according to previous questions asked on those lines
Sixth Doctor’s sonic lance – maybe but unlikely
Ninth/Tenth Doctor Sonic with slider button – VERY EXTREMELY unlikely given the changes needed to make this possible, I tried this once myself and it’s very fiddly work and would break very easily! and would cost more than the £10 bracket
Missy’s device – maybe but not really fitting into the range
Master’s Laser Screwdriver – possible but again it’s been stated that there isn’t the market for it.

  • the astronaut of death

I understand that these sell well …. But if wave 1 of the 3.75 figures sold well , then they are not going to relese the same figures every wave are they ?
They could do so much more with this ….

    They could do

    1.sonic pen
    2.6th doctors sonic thingy
    3.tenth doctors damaged screwdriver
    4. 2nd doctor sonic

the problem is these are in the sub £10 price range and subject to offers (meaning a much lower cost price) which is only possible as they are all re-releases or releases using existing tooling, all the ones you have suggested would require new tooling and moulds

    • Anonymous

      February 16th, 2015 - 2:42pm

The sonic pen has already been done booboo, so it wouldn’t need anew mould or retooling

No, because it doesn’t advertise it as having a button on the slider.

  • The Doctor

    February 14th, 2015 - 1:14am

If you look at the packing for the River Song Future Sonic it states at the bottom in brackets “(Red setting with light and sound FX)” so looks like this is the real super version, not that awful re-release. That’ll be the main selling point of this wave, getting the Sonic with Red setting and not having to pay £20 + shipping from a US seller.

These are nice, all the sonics, bar the 11th non extending have been a triumph, beautifully designed and produced, but I cant help but feel that surely by now, everyone who wants one has got a 4th, 9th, 10th and 11th sonics.

2nd is hard to make because it was just a toolbox torch, 6th is a sonic lance, would have to be a totally new sculpt so maybe if these sell well there may be a wave 5, but likely it would have the 11th sound chip which people would complain about.

    Can’t please everyone I guess :’)
