Doctor Who Titan Comic UK Issue 1
Titan Magazines is excited to announce the UK launch of the BBC Doctor Who Comic, featuring the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors in every single issue.
This adventure-packed comic, published under licence from BBC Worldwide, lands in stores 26th February with three on-going stories in the first issue, featuring the three most popular incarnations of the Doctor repackaged into a UK only comic! If you’re desperate to have more from your favourite doctor outside the TV series this comic will fill that Doctor Who-shaped hole in your life with a new issue every four weeks, in a format only available in the UK.
This comic is essential for any Doctor Who fan who can’t stand the long wait until the new series.
Join the Tenth Doctor as he deals with the aftermath of Donna Noble’s heart-breaking farewell. The Doctor feels he may never again have another companion, but maybe an adventure with some psychic aliens, a New York laundrette operator and the Mexican Day of the Dead festival can help change his mind!
Then, while Amy and Rory are away, the Eleventh Doctor will play! Experience a time-twisting adventure as he hurtles down a collision course into a terrifying cosmic threat. Can the Doctor save the day once more with a grieving young woman, a 70s’ musician, and an amnesiac alien? Find out in this issue!
Finally, Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald set off on a brand new adventure in the TARDIS! The Doctor is off to his most challenging destination yet. Whether he’s battling a fearsome, millennia-old entity on a freshly-terraformed planet or fighting the forces of an ancient alien, expect shocks, surprises and time-shaking revelations.
Every issue features stunning writers and artists, including Eisner Award-winning Nick Abadzis (Laika), fan-favourite Elena Casagrande (Angel, Star Trek), Al Ewing (Loki: Agent of Asgard) and Rob Williams (Trifecta), Simon Fraser (Grindhouse), Eagle award-winning writer Robbie Morrison (The Authority, 2000AD) and Dave Taylor (Batman: Death By Design, 2000AD)! Don’t miss their amazing renditions of the Doctors each month! And every issue comes with an original humour strip and competitions offering the best Doctor Who prizes in the Galaxy. In issue one, readers can win a set of the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor Vinyl figures. The first issue will also feature an EXCLUSIVE CODE to download comic strip characters into the ever-more-popular Doctor Who Legacy free-to-play game, completely FREE of charge!
Titan has licensed Doctor Who from BBC Worldwide, the wholly-owned commercial arm of the BBC, and has marketed the title through advertising, online and print ads, PR and social media.
Nicholas Brett, Director of UK Publishing, BBC Worldwide, said: “We’re delighted that Titan will be bringing fans the Doctor Who Comic from next month and extending the relationship BBC Worldwide already enjoys with Titan.”
Issue one of BBC Doctor Who Comic hits UK newsstands on the 26th February and will be available every four weeks in supermarkets, WH Smiths and independent newsagents. Every issue is 84 pages and retails at £3.99.

The Figure Adventurer
February 27th, 2015 - 4:21pmI love this comic, but I can’t help feeling a little bit ripped off. I bought all of the Peter Capaldi Comics that are released and now they are releasing all three doctor’s comics (Excluding Christopher Eccleston, which is a shame) for £3.99, in one for about the price of the normal comic. Just a little bit annoyed at it, but other than that… it’s a really awesome idea and I hope that they continue these.
Not going to buy any of the individual comics again, obviously!
The Bad Wolf
February 27th, 2015 - 3:37pmBought mine yesterday an I loved every second if it as the stories are good and the 11th doctor’s companion Alice for me is really likeable just like Lucy Miller in the Big Finish range. Overall 10/10
Sherlock Holmes
February 26th, 2015 - 9:01pmWhere can I order this?

February 13th, 2015 - 12:04amWill some of these comic stories feature villains/monsters from the show.
If so I hope they also cover spin-off villains in future (we need another Trickster instalment)

February 24th, 2015 - 9:16pmThere’s weeping angels
Michie
February 26th, 2015 - 4:45pmThe Trickster is a great creation in my opinion. I think we should see him in an actual Doctor Who story one day.

February 26th, 2015 - 6:09pmThe SJA writers were intending to write him out “FOREVER”

February 26th, 2015 - 7:24pmUsing these comics would, in my opinion, be a good and relatively risk-free way to (re)introduce spin-off and classic series monsters int the “new who” universe (and could even serve as a form of `test run` for the series)

February 10th, 2015 - 12:16amDoes this contain the same story’s in the single doctor comics or are they brand new story’s?
Sherlock Holmes
February 26th, 2015 - 9:07pmThese contain the same stories from the American releases. A simple deduction based on the fact the descriptions for each Doctor’s adventures are the same as the American releases and it was revealed on numerous occasions.

February 8th, 2015 - 6:30pmI think I’m gonna hold off and wait for the 5 issue collections due this summer.
It’s great that Titans’ comics are coming out like this though, and at a very tempting price, but the US covers are absolutely fab compared to this… all those variants, no gimmicky competition ads and writing everywhere on the cover, just big clean artwork.
TIME DUDE
February 8th, 2015 - 8:14amIs this like those batman and xmen magazines I see in wh smith somtimes
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
February 8th, 2015 - 1:48pmPretty Much.
Cons:
It’ll probably take 3 or 4 issues to complete the equivalent of a standard Titan comic.
At £3.99 it may be expensive having to wait a longer to complete your stories.
Pro’s:
It does feature all Three Doctors (possibly No. 9 will join them some time after March)
The stories on the whole are pretty good.
If you aren’t following the Titan releases, shorter installments probably won’t worry you.
This multi story format has worked for other lines for years.
Extra Features.
I get the digital downloads but will certainly get the First Issue here and see how we go….

February 8th, 2015 - 1:07amI live in the U.S. and I really want to buy this, is this going to be available in the future?
booboo
February 8th, 2015 - 8:40amit doesn’t say so
the doctor
February 7th, 2015 - 9:08pmso is this like adventures but all comics and only out every month and is it 3 separate magazines or all 3 doctors together in one magazine???
booboo
February 7th, 2015 - 9:10pmits all comics, Doctor Who Adventures is a magazine with some comic strips but lots of other things
DOCTOR WHO ONE
February 7th, 2015 - 9:05amThe comic should include Christopher Eccleston’s 9th Doctor.
Feels wrong to leave his Doctor out, since he was the one we was introduced too nearly 10 years ago on Saturday 26th March 2005 [happy 10th Anniversary New Who next month !! 😀 ].
It’s like his Doctor never existed, and I think a lot of people forgot his Doctor cos he did do just that one series.
I guess for some people it must feel as if the new series started with David Tennant and not Chris . . . .
Poor 9th Doctor 🙁
Sam Richard Bentley
February 7th, 2015 - 10:45amThink you’ll find the only reason they haven’t included him is because they haven’t finished work on 9ths comic, and released it yet. This is like a compilation edition of the comics they’ve already released.
booboo
February 7th, 2015 - 11:14amyes the others are several months ahead of him at the moment so maybe they will include him when the time is right

February 7th, 2015 - 5:36pmWhy is it such a tragedy they exclude the Ninth Doctor when none of the 20th century Doctors even get a look in?
booboo
February 7th, 2015 - 5:48pmHow could they get a look in, there are no comics by Titan that cover 1-8 yet that can be included. an 8th doctor comic has been rumoured
There are 9th doctor comics in print, but several months behind the others so couldn’t be included yet as has already been said.
A lot the “classic Doctors” already have a huge back catalogue of previous comic strips from IDW, Doctor Who Magazine, Marvel and others
This is all still fairly new territory for titan so I doubt they want to jump in feet first covering everything all which would take time to set any way.
The five doctors
February 6th, 2015 - 10:01pmNeed to buy this !! 😀

February 7th, 2015 - 9:13pmIt’s not rumoured about other drs titan said that once 9 has his 5 issues another dr will get a run. And so on so if 9 proves popular then maybe they will revisit I for one like that idea that no more than 4 at once.
Well 5 including the UK one that I believe will just cover the us ones and I prefer the us artwork tbh. I have a 2 blank covers that warren martineck is going to work one of them.

February 8th, 2015 - 2:04amWe are definitely due a new sonic, but Im pretty certain that this is just a printing error.
The TARDIS
February 6th, 2015 - 4:49pmWell, I was considering getting these when they came out individually and, having decided not to bother, I’m not missing out on this!
CyberDanny
February 6th, 2015 - 4:24pmThis looks like it’s Doctor Who’s version of the Marvel comics I used to get, with multiple ongoing stories each issue, which is great as I loved getting it!
Will definitely be getting this! 😀

February 6th, 2015 - 2:53pm£3.99 seems like a lot
Exterminator
February 6th, 2015 - 3:30pmI think it’s 3 comics in one bumper issue. So it’s actually cheaper than buying all 3 separately.
Exterminator
February 6th, 2015 - 1:15pmI’ve just subscribed, you get 25% off when you set up a direct debit and a free t shirt too!

February 6th, 2015 - 1:12pmBrilliant idea! Instead of having to track down 40 silly variant covers per issue & forking out roughly the same price, we actually get the reprinted bumper version of the 10th./11th. & 12th. Doctor’s extra adventures without all the hassle.
The Monitor
February 6th, 2015 - 5:23pmI think some contributors think this is replacing the existing “comics” and their 3 – 86 variant covers which we are all struggling to get.
The way I understand this, is that it is in addition to the other “comics”, which are not called comics, but this is.
So we will have:
DWM every 4 weeks- supermarkets, WHS etc
DWM specials/bookazines (5-7 per annum?) -various
DWA monthly (at the moment)- supermarket WHS etc
DW Figurines magazine twice monthly – WHS…
DW Comic ever 4 weeks – supermarkets, WHS etc
then, less commercially available are…
TItan Doctor Who (Comic) 15 issues per year x 3 minimum variant covers x 3 Doctors going to 4 soon – FP, comic shops, wherever you are luckly enough to get it from etc

February 6th, 2015 - 12:34pmWhat’s up with 12s sonic? Its silver!
100000BC
February 6th, 2015 - 12:15pm“Three most popular incarnations”? “Three most recent incarnations” I could understand as a given reason for 10th, 11th and 12th together in the comic but I don’t like the way it presumes that they are the “most popular” – what about 1st-9th?
doctorrivertardis
February 6th, 2015 - 11:43amis this just the first of their individual comics in one book, or is it something new altogether?
Exterminator
February 6th, 2015 - 12:09pmI would say its the individual release comics in one bumper issue. All that’s missing is the 9th Dr.
