Doctor Who Caves of the Androzani figure Set
Doctor Who – Caves of the Androzani Set
Please note although just announced in the UK this item has been for sale at retail level in Australia for some time.
The Fifth Doctor and Peri arrive on Androzani Minor, the source of a life-prolonging drug called spectrox. Production of the drug is controlled by Sharaz Jek, a facially deformed madman in self imposed exile, who blames Morgus, a powerful industrialist on Androzani Major, for all his misfortunes. Jek is fighting Morgus’ troops on a daily basis using his android army.
Jek’s android weapons are supplied by gun-runners employed by Morgus, who then receives payment in refined spectrox. But, Jek becomes infatuated with Peri and saves her and the Doctor from execution by Morgus’ troops only to hold them prisoner himself. They escape Jek but contract spectrox toxaemia, a fatal condition with only one antidote – milk from a giant queen bat.
In a climactic battle, Morgus, Jek and all the soldiers are killed. The Doctor now dying, carries Peri back to the TARDIS, where he gives her the antidote. She recovers, but the Doctor has to regenerate to save his own life.

im not sure if she died in the twin dilemia (the first story with the 6th doctor) beacuse i doont have the one but the only companion actuaaly to die is adric in earthshock

November 1st, 2011 - 11:56pmThe figure of Peri is a great figure, but I don’t think the likeness is really convincing enough, ughh, could have done better. Should have given the figure a younger Peri face, this is her more mature face we see. :/
But as far as the 5″ figures go, it’s about as good as the Peri from Vengeance on Varos so it IS well worth getting. 🙂

November 1st, 2011 - 11:58pmYeah, if you look at the pictures of her from Caves, and then back at the figure, the actual PERI from this episode is much younger face than her action figure representation seems.
It should have gone with some adjustment to the face, make her represent this younger Peri who was just new to Dr Who at the time. ❗

where he asks “What about you Doctor all those friends of yours, who have you got ?” And the Doctor answerd:
” They’ve all got someone else. But that’s fine, I’m FINE.”
and I began to wonder, how BC did his acting for that scene, because it jsut seemed so real to me, it didn’t occur to me that it was acting atall. 😯

Some ppl say they would be willing to buy more figures form this story, the Maagma Beast (eughh, 🙁 ) and the Androids/Drones/Droids that Sharaz Jek made.
Just FYI, but all that really matters for nwo is that we HAVE these two characters. 😀

October 26th, 2011 - 11:10pmIf that’s the case, then I think it was a really big mistake for Character Options to have discontinued this action figure range. They were a great accompaniment to the show and, not trying to make light of a bad situation, but seeing as the series isn’t going to continue on the TV, then at least it would live on in some form. As they said, “the story goes on forever” 🙂
