I’ve tried the Morrisons near me three times and they still don’t have it. And I’ve checked the WHSmith! It’s just getting annoying!

    Nothing in WHSmiths.
    Nothing in Sainsburys.

It’s like all Who related merchandise has suddenly been banned from Bracknell!

I swear that I am the ONLY Doctor Who fan in my town!

I definitely know that I am the only person that ISN’T an idiotic chav around here!

I thought I would do the right thing. Support WHSmiths and get this. Alas they did not have it. I carried on to Sainsburys for the weekly shop, and it is not the largest one in the area, and they had it. They even had the DVD game.

Still, I am sure WHS aren’t bothered; they’ve got chocolate and sweets to sell.

I’m sure WH Smiths aren’t the slightest bit bothered about this single magazine not being in stock – I’m sure they have more than even other items to sell that probably have a higher profit margin.

More than one Sainsbury’s is known to have it. Sainsbury’s Fareham does 18 miles or so away from you.

I expect FP will have in London.

WHS seem to struggle with this one. Unless someone works out back at WHS, you will not get an answer.

Tomorrow, very unlikely. Later in the month or next, much more likely.

The last one was a staggered release so some places got it before others. I’ve seen a few stores that still have stock of the Daleks one.

Not sure when this new one is due to be publsihed as it says “11th August” above and that’s a Sunday – highly irregular to publish a magazine on a Sunday, don’t you know.

I hope they do something like this for the episodes (a bit like the 200 golden moments which was released in 2009) but from An Unearthly Child to The Name of the Doctor and including some spoilery images/ hints towards the 50th anniversary!

I paid over the odds for the Dalek one, from a seller on Amazon, and was very annoyed to do so but worried I would miss it. Eventually they turned up in York WHSmith and have been there for some time. So all in all, very annoying. I had heard that they are a staggered release across the country, and this does appear to be the case.

      July 30th, 2013 - 7:18pm

Yes, I missed the 1 day window WHS had and bought a tatty copy for Β£10 from FP, and like you, some considerable time later it turns up at WHS in force.

Normally, I do not buy the mag unless in near perfect condition because I know it can be obtained elsewhere, but with these you just never know the rarity.

      July 31st, 2013 - 12:47am

My local bookshop has at least six of the Dalek bookazine (probably more). I kind of feel like buying another one (or more) considering how rare they seem to be now.

Right, It is annoying me now. I haven’t got the Daleks one- does anyone know where abouts I can get it from (in the Sunderland/ Newcastle area) cos WH Smiths copies are damaged.

Or could anyone give me a link to the website where you can buy it from?

It will be much appreciated, thanks.

I got mine from a Sainsbury’s when it first came out, but the sainsbury’s was in Kelso, Scotland. I was on a small holiday. But, interestingly, I am from the Sunderland/Newcastle area and I have not seen them anywhere, either. Definately try a big Sainsburys or WHSmith.

I was expecting the 2nd of these 3 special publications to be about the Cybermen, but I guess they will no doubt be in the final publication.

Or maybe the final publication of these 3 specials should be all about the Tardis ? !! πŸ˜€

The Dalek publication on the other hand is fantastic, so I look very forward to reading this when it comes out, especially when I get to the part about my all time favorite classic series companion Jo Grant and new series companion Rose Tyler πŸ™‚

I think it won’t be the Cybermen- although they are a trademark enemy to Doctor Who, there hasn’t been 50 years of them; whereas there has been 50 years of Daleks, Companions, and The Doctor/TARDIS πŸ™‚

      July 30th, 2013 - 12:46pm

I got it for free because my school gave me a Β£10.00 off WHSmith voucher. I think the cover could have been better if they used a different image of Clara but it isn’t too bad

    • The Comment Man

      July 31st, 2013 - 5:17pm

I don’t like the cover. I don’t hate it but the image of Clara is hardly the best of her. The images behind her, in the background, are very hard to make out because of Clara’s unfortunately large body hence the large, taking up all the space, arms. The purple doesn’t match the gold…

If they had done the Cybermen, they could have had all the cybermen photos, then a silver border and blue-ish, grey-ish background. It would look awesome but this one is… ok-ish.
