B&M 2022 The First Doctor and Electronic Tardis Set
The five new Doctor Who classic lines will be available in November 2022 at B&M stores nationwide.
We think fans will be both delighted and surprised with this rather unique set. This action figure set includes:
- The First Doctor as portrayed by David Bradley
- Electronic TARDIS
As fans know, in the first ever episode of the TV show we encounter the TARDIS and its owner and pilot, an alien traveller known only as The Doctor. It’s the start of a great number of adventures over many years.
Since that first show the First Doctor has been played both on screen, and in audio format, by several actors but David Bradley in both the dramatization of the early years of Doctor Who ‘An Adventure in Space & Time’ and in the twelfth Doctor Story ‘Twice Upon A Christmas’ as well as many Big Finish audio adventures, giving a very unique and powerful portrayal which really captured the essence of William Hartnell’s First Doctor.
Speaking of this wave of releases Al Dewar, Creative Director at Character Options, said: “This range has some real gems in it, including some not so easy to spot ones. The three figure sets are very cool and there’s at least one standout figure in each set, including a new Ninth Doctor with new components and an updated Rose V1. We also have a brand-new Angel variant as well as a physically new version of Yaz. Collectors will delight in looking for both variants of the Angel figure.
“With the Dalek sets – this time we have two absolute standout pieces with ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ and my personal favourite Dalek story ‘Destiny of the Daleks’. For me it has everything and I love the look of the battered war worn Daleks. Following that and much to my own delight, is a new First Doctor figure in the form of David Bradley’s Doctor paired with a very unique looking TARDIS based more on the TARDIS look in the BBC 2013 anniversary drama story which covered the creation of the TV series.
“Lastly to go hand in hand with the Dalek sets is a great special release featuring Davros and a very special Dalek … all I can say is fans will not want to miss out on that one!”

November 19th, 2022 - 4:28pmDoes B&M have an account login system or something? I can’t seem to find one but if I could make an account and input my details in advance then that’d be handy….
Darren
November 19th, 2022 - 5:29pmYou can create an account login, but I think you’ll still have to enter your card number and details during checkout, unfortunately.

November 19th, 2022 - 1:14pmI think the best way to purchase fthis is from the online shop as in store stock might be very few and far between. When i asked today they scanned my barcode and the TARDIS set wasnt even showing up but the rest were. It seems it will be intermittent around the clock online checks if you want one.

November 19th, 2022 - 12:33pmI do find it a bit frustrating that I submitted my details so I am now on their database, clicked the Notify Me link, they “Registered My Interest” and then sighed relief that I wouldn’t need to consistently check the website only to wake up this morning and read that this came into stock during the early hours and was sold out, albeit perhaps temporarily, before the sun rose! Oh, and of course, I had no email alerting me to there being stock, so, um, what was the point of that?! Of course there are bigger things to worry about but my son saves his money for Doctor Who figures that remain persistently out of reach to him. If it was just left to him to try and get these he wouldn’t stand a chance – he can’t travel to ONE B&M store let alone half a dozen and would be in trouble if he stayed up until the early hours in case he could buy one online! I get that it is what it is, and no one actually cares, it’s simply about economics for the businesses involved but it’s therapeutic to have a rant every now and then to relieve some of the frustration!
Darren
November 19th, 2022 - 1:33pmI signed up for email alerts and didn’t get one either.

November 19th, 2022 - 10:27amHi everyone,
I definitely recommend if you can’t get to a store to check the website (link at top of article) around 1am.
Stores are still due to get stock too as not all stock goes to the website.
I only looked as I was catching up on Who news. I checked how many I could add to my basket and it allowed 100. But I didn’t order one as I simply have no room for anymore Tardis’ in my collection.
Websites usually get updated in the early hours of the morning (for example Curry’s and Argos are still updated around 4am) so it isn’t B&M being awkward.
Good Luck

November 19th, 2022 - 2:53pmHi Daz. Not having a pop at you. But often when i have hone into a store after checking stock levels, currys, argos,do this often, they say instock, but it seems they gave non or they sold the last 3 in times im in store.
But online, if a store has 150, and you put 100 in basket, wont that automatically take stock available down to 50,so they dont over sell. Im not sure if in this case that happens, but i know in Some stores this happens. QVC often tells my friend it has some left,as they restocked, after people left them in baskets but did not check out. Not sure how many they had in this batch, or how thier system works. Just not sure its the way to go.
Sorry if this seems like me sniping, its more a question out of frustration. Being disabled i need to rely on others to run around and on line gets annoying, but its the same for everyone
Darren
November 19th, 2022 - 5:35pmBryan, I don’t think the B&M website is currently that advanced, I’ve seen a few people on here and elsewhere who by the time they’ve gone through checkout the stock is gone.
This suggests that the stock level deducts as people place successful orders, rather than ‘reserving’ what’s in people’s baskets.
daz
November 19th, 2022 - 5:35pmHi Bryan,
I think you are right. Websites tend to give you so long to check out before it is removed from your basket.
Although some people said they had it in their basket and when they put their card details in, it reverted to not in stock, so could be first to get to the full check out/order confirmation with B&M.
I emptied my basket before I left the website though so there was nothing held in limbo because of me.

November 19th, 2022 - 9:34amI am not really happy and very annoyed that is twice I have missed out on getting the dr Who Bradley tardis set. Looks like I’ll have no chance of getting one online as they will be sold in limited quantities Looks like my chance has gone now.Not fair at all.

November 19th, 2022 - 10:00amIt says Temporarily out of stock. People will be on and off checking for availability. but to put it up at 1am when people want their sleep is plain stupid. Give us a fighting chance by putting these up at a decent hour. going to ride out today to see what there is

November 19th, 2022 - 8:03amSo, I got one, and there seems to be an awful lot of people still up at 1am.!

November 19th, 2022 - 7:40amWhy on earth did they go on line at 1.00am in the morning….! Have we now got to sit on the internet 24 hours a day to get hold of these things? B&M is priceless.

November 19th, 2022 - 7:59amNothing unusual about websites updating overnight, in the good old days people were up all night waiting for the new argos items to reserve when the new catalogue went live

November 19th, 2022 - 2:10amJust ordered. Pity they can’t do this with other sets. In an ideal world, wish Character would distribute directly from their website and put an maximum number of units per account to make it harder for scalpers.

November 19th, 2022 - 8:01amB&M commission these, it’s their product, so CO are not going to sell them. The stock CO have is old unsold USA stock.

November 19th, 2022 - 1:47amSo pleased I’m up late as I happened to look at this site (for about the 10th time today!) and saw that the TARDIS set was available on the B&M website. Managed to buy one and I’m very happy!

November 18th, 2022 - 11:37amBooBoo,
Just for your info and my fellow whovians I went into my local B &m store in Glasgow and I gave the stock code reference number of the Dr Who 1st Doctor David Bradley Set and when she inputted the info one of the B&M Distribution Warehouse Centre was said to be holding around 2804 of these sets waiting to be distributed. Hope this helps Tom.

November 18th, 2022 - 11:54amyes that’s right, expect them in stores anytime now but if they are selling online as well suspect they might be a bit thin on the ground

November 18th, 2022 - 9:04amAAAAAAAND THEY’RE GONE.
They were available to purchase for the briefest of moments and just like that, they’re out of stock. Hopefully some greedy so-and-so hasn’t just logged on and bought all their stock, could be they just allocated a small sampling of Tardis sets to sell on their site and might restock later.
I’ve already purchased one, hope it arrives soon and not too badly knocked out, but I look forward to it’s arrival!
Doctor What
November 18th, 2022 - 9:31amYeah was really annoying, they had them but by the time I’d gone through payment they went out of stock wish they hadn’t updated the basket as it should stay there if you’re literally inputting your card details and click confirm

November 17th, 2022 - 7:41pmNot really. Just not delivered in the same place as the other sets
Anthony Fagn
November 18th, 2022 - 8:05amYes that’s correct. Had an email from B&M HQ last week saying the TARDIS has been delayed for 2 weeks and it will be released week commencing 28th of November.
booboo
November 18th, 2022 - 8:45amLooks like they were wrong, these arrived in Liverpool 2 days ago
Anonymous
November 18th, 2022 - 9:45amObviously not that delayed if it went on sale today! Unless that’s why it sgone so quick – just a few had arrived?
booboo
November 18th, 2022 - 11:13amThey are probably not used to large volume sales yet, 500 of something else might trickle out but 500 of these would be gone in a flash.

November 16th, 2022 - 6:56pmI want one of these and really hope Russell T Davies brings back the First Doctor with David Bradley plus Claudia Grant as Susan Foreman, Jemma Powell as Barbara Wright, Jamie Glover as Ian Chesterton, Jared Garfield as Ben Jackson and Lily Travers as Polly Wright.

I haven’t commented on here for a while but with all the latest new Who news coming next year with Russell’s grand return things feel different for a good reason. Now we’re getting new Who figures which I’ll definitely be buying for Crimbo!
