B&M 2022 The First Doctor and Electronic Tardis Set

The five new Doctor Who classic lines will be available in November 2022 at B&M stores nationwide.

We think fans will be both delighted and surprised with this rather unique set. This action figure set includes:

  • The First Doctor as portrayed by David Bradley
  • Electronic TARDIS

As fans know, in the first ever episode of the TV show we encounter the TARDIS and its owner and pilot, an alien traveller known only as The Doctor. It’s the start of a great number of adventures over many years.

Since that first show the First Doctor has been played both on screen, and in audio format, by several actors but David Bradley in both the dramatization of the early years of Doctor Who ‘An Adventure in Space & Time’ and in the twelfth Doctor Story ‘Twice Upon A Christmas’ as well as many Big Finish audio adventures, giving a very unique and powerful portrayal which really captured the essence of William Hartnell’s First Doctor.

Speaking of this wave of releases Al Dewar, Creative Director at Character Options, said: “This range has some real gems in it, including some not so easy to spot ones. The three figure sets are very cool and there’s at least one standout figure in each set, including a new Ninth Doctor with new components and an updated Rose V1. We also have a brand-new Angel variant as well as a physically new version of Yaz. Collectors will delight in looking for both variants of the Angel figure.

“With the Dalek sets – this time we have two absolute standout pieces with ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ and my personal favourite Dalek story ‘Destiny of the Daleks’. For me it has everything and I love the look of the battered war worn Daleks. Following that and much to my own delight, is a new First Doctor figure in the form of David Bradley’s Doctor paired with a very unique looking TARDIS based more on the TARDIS look in the BBC 2013 anniversary drama story which covered the creation of the TV series.

“Lastly to go hand in hand with the Dalek sets is a great special release featuring Davros and a very special Dalek … all I can say is fans will not want to miss out on that one!”

Does B&M have an account login system or something? I can’t seem to find one but if I could make an account and input my details in advance then that’d be handy….

You can create an account login, but I think you’ll still have to enter your card number and details during checkout, unfortunately.

I think the best way to purchase fthis is from the online shop as in store stock might be very few and far between. When i asked today they scanned my barcode and the TARDIS set wasnt even showing up but the rest were. It seems it will be intermittent around the clock online checks if you want one.

I do find it a bit frustrating that I submitted my details so I am now on their database, clicked the Notify Me link, they “Registered My Interest” and then sighed relief that I wouldn’t need to consistently check the website only to wake up this morning and read that this came into stock during the early hours and was sold out, albeit perhaps temporarily, before the sun rose! Oh, and of course, I had no email alerting me to there being stock, so, um, what was the point of that?! Of course there are bigger things to worry about but my son saves his money for Doctor Who figures that remain persistently out of reach to him. If it was just left to him to try and get these he wouldn’t stand a chance – he can’t travel to ONE B&M store let alone half a dozen and would be in trouble if he stayed up until the early hours in case he could buy one online! I get that it is what it is, and no one actually cares, it’s simply about economics for the businesses involved but it’s therapeutic to have a rant every now and then to relieve some of the frustration!

    Hi everyone,

I definitely recommend if you can’t get to a store to check the website (link at top of article) around 1am.

Stores are still due to get stock too as not all stock goes to the website.

I only looked as I was catching up on Who news. I checked how many I could add to my basket and it allowed 100. But I didn’t order one as I simply have no room for anymore Tardis’ in my collection.

Websites usually get updated in the early hours of the morning (for example Curry’s and Argos are still updated around 4am) so it isn’t B&M being awkward.

    Good Luck

Hi Daz. Not having a pop at you. But often when i have hone into a store after checking stock levels, currys, argos,do this often, they say instock, but it seems they gave non or they sold the last 3 in times im in store.

But online, if a store has 150, and you put 100 in basket, wont that automatically take stock available down to 50,so they dont over sell. Im not sure if in this case that happens, but i know in Some stores this happens. QVC often tells my friend it has some left,as they restocked, after people left them in baskets but did not check out. Not sure how many they had in this batch, or how thier system works. Just not sure its the way to go.

Sorry if this seems like me sniping, its more a question out of frustration. Being disabled i need to rely on others to run around and on line gets annoying, but its the same for everyone

Bryan, I don’t think the B&M website is currently that advanced, I’ve seen a few people on here and elsewhere who by the time they’ve gone through checkout the stock is gone.
This suggests that the stock level deducts as people place successful orders, rather than ‘reserving’ what’s in people’s baskets.

      November 19th, 2022 - 5:35pm

      Hi Bryan,

I think you are right. Websites tend to give you so long to check out before it is removed from your basket.

Although some people said they had it in their basket and when they put their card details in, it reverted to not in stock, so could be first to get to the full check out/order confirmation with B&M.

I emptied my basket before I left the website though so there was nothing held in limbo because of me.

It says Temporarily out of stock. People will be on and off checking for availability. but to put it up at 1am when people want their sleep is plain stupid. Give us a fighting chance by putting these up at a decent hour. going to ride out today to see what there is

Just ordered. Pity they can’t do this with other sets. In an ideal world, wish Character would distribute directly from their website and put an maximum number of units per account to make it harder for scalpers.

    AAAAAAAND THEY’RE GONE.

They were available to purchase for the briefest of moments and just like that, they’re out of stock. Hopefully some greedy so-and-so hasn’t just logged on and bought all their stock, could be they just allocated a small sampling of Tardis sets to sell on their site and might restock later.

I’ve already purchased one, hope it arrives soon and not too badly knocked out, but I look forward to it’s arrival!

They are probably not used to large volume sales yet, 500 of something else might trickle out but 500 of these would be gone in a flash.

I haven’t commented on here for a while but with all the latest new Who news coming next year with Russell’s grand return things feel different for a good reason. Now we’re getting new Who figures which I’ll definitely be buying for Crimbo!
