B&M 2021 The Sensorites Figure Set

Character Options is delighted to announce its first new wave of Doctor Who action figure sets for 2021 with four new lines scheduled to arrive in B and M stores across the country in Mid-August.

This exciting launch will introduce two more action figure trios plus two additional special collectors’ packs for Dalek Fans. Each and every set of this detailed series will include highly detailed 5.5 inch scale figures featuring multiple points of articulation and come presented in the ‘heritage’ Doctor Who packaging with specially created insert artwork.

This Doctor Who Collectors set is a must have for all Doctor Who fans and collectors and includes a trio of detailed Doctor Who figures from the classic 1964 episode ‘The Sensorites’.

The Sensorites were a terrific alien species with their telepathic abilities and peaceful overtures. Their appearance at the window towards the end of episode 1 must rate as one of the creepiest entrances of any alien in the show.

Celebrating the episode fans will be able to enjoy a First Doctor figure, a Sensorite Action Figure with Probe Accessory plus an alternative Sensorite ELDER Action Figure with Probe Accessory. For the first time in a 3 figure pack we have a detailed insert card rather than bare white card.

Everytime I see a B&M lorry van I wonder if it has Doctor Who figures lol.

One just passed my house now going towards the one down the road. Just hope they are in stores before I move.

I would have been so tempted to yell “DO YOU HAVE ANY SENSORITES?” as it drove by. Just to see the look on the driver’s face.

Perhaps mid September is more likely for these sets to reach stores now? :-/

    its been 84 years

Yep I’m getting so tired of checking the forums every day for nothing new

      August 26th, 2021 - 11:04am

There was nothing in a big B&M store in Southampton yesterday and so I reckon we’re looking at September now. Can’t keep wasting petrol going to check.

      August 26th, 2021 - 4:43pm

our “stocks arrive” posts have always told people for years now when the stock has actually arrived, hence name. I’m seeing loads of people on forums chasing around looking for stuff that hasn’t even arrived at the distribution centres yet let alone the stores.

    • Mhm

      August 27th, 2021 - 9:14am

That’s probably because they said mid-August release xd

    • booboo

      August 27th, 2021 - 9:45am

same applies, there are major distribution issues and delays going on right now especially from with coming from China and outside of CO/ B&M’s control

    • TimelordTim

      August 27th, 2021 - 10:24am

They said “scheduled” for a mid-August release. But that doesn’t mean it was guaranteed to happen then, things change beyond people’s control. We should be used to that, and even expect it, in the current climate.

Ultimately, the current situation, with things being held up at the borders and a lack of lorry drivers at the moment, means we should all have expected to wait longer for these to arrive.

Sites like this are superb in letting us know when things have actually arrived.

To be honest, anyone checking stores at the moment have clearly jumped the gun and are only wasting their own time and petrol.

Stay calm, they’ll arrive and it’ll be clear when they do by visiting sites such as this one or ringing up B&M stores before travel.

    I’ve noticed the Hartnell set is on e bay priced at £ 60.00 . I think I’ll wait ……..

They can’t have it as they have not arrived in stores yet!

    • Colin Beaton

      It’s a pre-order: they’re just trying to get the money in ASAP…

It’s best to look in stores to find the sets…

  • Matt

    August 18th, 2021 - 4:01pm

Will anyone be getting this set and looking to keep just the sensortie figures? I’m only after the Dr figure from this set

    • Coleman.

      August 18th, 2021 - 4:32pm

Your best bets Ebay, they’ll be plenty of people in time selling the Doctor because they only want the Sensorites or ViceVersa.

    • Jack

      August 18th, 2021 - 6:30pm

      Hi Matt,

I was definitely thinking about picking up the Sensorites but didn’t want another Hartnell, so I’d be happily to work something out with you if you’d like!

    August 18th, 2021 - 12:49pm

Just been into my local B&M store in Bognor – no Doctor Who stuff at all! I enquired about the new sets, but the staff had no idea – just a cheery “keep checking”!! Will try again Saturday or Monday if I can.

    • Fredfez

      August 19th, 2021 - 11:52am

      Thanks for letting us know.
      Bognor is my local store

    • JJ1963

      August 21st, 2021 - 9:10am

Similar situation at my local one, which is a BIG store. They haven’t had any DW stuff for ages. Staff don’t get told in advance apparently, they just get stuff delivered at random!
I got told they will probably get some in during the run up to Christmas

      No the first 4 sets

  • Harry

    August 17th, 2021 - 3:20pm

    Come on alreadyyyyy xD
It’s already 17th of August, that’s as mid-August as you can get! lol
I wish they just released a proper date xd

    • booboo

      August 17th, 2021 - 3:26pm

with shipping delays container delays and a shortage of drivers there is no such thing as as proper date for these type of items

    • Rob

      August 17th, 2021 - 9:20pm

I asked a lady in b@m Tonbridge, she said the product codes do not exist, they are one number short.

    • booboo

      August 18th, 2021 - 8:32am

they do exist and are correct and are on the central system but they wont show up on store systems until the stock has arrived and logged in at the distribution centres

    August 16th, 2021 - 2:51pm

    Hello,

Brand new to Doctor Who collecting, so I apologies for the dumb Q

But, for American’s, would we have to relay on Amazon to get these?

Haven’t really found another avenue besides ebay

    Many thanks,

    • booboo

      August 16th, 2021 - 4:19pm

at this moment in time there is some questions at to what the USA distribution will be (if any) moving forward

    • lister

      August 16th, 2021 - 6:51pm

As far as U.S. distribution goes, keep in mind that Gogs1 has only been selling Doctor Who toys in the States for about a year. Before that, I was able to get the last several years’ worth of B&M sets on Amazon. The best part about Gogs1 was their prices were typically better than other Amazon sellers, but they’ve never been the only game in town for American customers.

On a related note, I’ve contacted WHONA twice to see if they expect to get this year’s batch of sets in. They’re not talking. That actually worries me slightly more than no Gogs1.

    • booboo

      August 16th, 2021 - 6:58pm

If Gogs1 are giving up, there might possibly be sensitive negotiations going in the background on hence the silence.

    • lister

      August 16th, 2021 - 7:09pm

      I like your optimism, booboo.

On a totally UNrelated note, I watched “Battlefield” recently and now I really want a three-pack of Brigadier Bambera, Lt. Lavel, and a (slightly older) Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart.

    • booboo

      August 16th, 2021 - 7:18pm

not me, its been said by someone from Character that the Goggs1 door was probably shut, but if sensitive negations were going on with a new USA distributor then silence is what you would expect.

Any sightings yet folks? Are they due any time?

    • booboo

      August 14th, 2021 - 6:22pm

They have not arrived yet, any day now but even when they do its takes a few days for them to get to stores

    • PAB

      August 15th, 2021 - 12:05pm

None in North Manchester this morning 🙁

  • Lightningboy

    August 14th, 2021 - 3:56pm

Our local B&M stores really need a kick up the backside (Carmarthen & Cross Hands)..absolutely no Doctor Who stuff in the Carmarthen branch (for months) & very little in the larger Cross Hands branch…what is going on?..both these stores have been useless when it comes to stocking DW items for well over a year.

    • booboo

      August 14th, 2021 - 4:37pm

Most of Wales, the south, south west and east never got the sets last year because the distribution centre wasn’t ready so it all got sent to the northern half of the UK.

    • Philip Shaw

      August 14th, 2021 - 4:54pm

My 2 branches in home town Morecambe, and nearby Lancaster never get a thing usually.

    • Adam Holwell

      August 15th, 2021 - 7:29pm

It was the same for my B&M in Newport South Wales we got the summer sets and December sets but absolutely nothing arrived for the October sets I got them mainly from ebay or Facebook sellers for a decent price. I will say though most sets do end up on amazon for a fair price about a month or 2 after getting released!

    • the ergon

      August 16th, 2021 - 8:11am

Half the fun is hunting them down the first week or so and searching those aisles although i can understand its not always feasible for people who can,t get out and about or people who have disabilities.

  • Theodore

    August 13th, 2021 - 8:35pm

I dropped in to my local B&M to have a look if they had the sets yet, and they didn’t, but there was a suspiciously large section of the shelves cleared, so I wonder if they’ll put them up tomorrow or something.

    • Doctor Thirteenth

      August 14th, 2021 - 12:50pm

Depends if your in Redditch our town centre branch are moving into the old Argos building extending that branch into the bigger store and that’s why the centre branch has empty shelves

    • Coleman

      August 14th, 2021 - 7:10pm

The Stairfoot B&M branch also extended into the building next door, its huge now.

I am kinda sad about my thoughts on these recently. This year my Doctor Who love has really disappeared. I bought every CO figure set but this year I gave the Tardis a pass and I don’t have any feelings about these either. Last year I would have been ecstatic to have an Ian figure. Now, I just feel nothing about it. It’s sad to think why I have lost all my passion for it. I wonderif anyone else has experienced similar things? Many thanks

    • booboo

      August 13th, 2021 - 10:16am

People do grow out of things, at any age, this last year and a half many people have had issues and difficulties with many things maybe your thoughts and priorities lie elsewhere now.

    • MDS

      August 13th, 2021 - 10:58am

I went through similar things around the time of season 16 of the original run. Whilst they are not my favourite seasons I missed most of seasons 16, 17 and 18. I came back to the series at the time Warriors Gate was being shown and liked the changes and rediscovered my interest that had started back in the Pertwee era. Its okay to say you are growing out of something.

I caught up with my missed seasons during the age of video releases and will happily re-watch them again and again. Perhaps with all that’s happened in the last year to 18 months the things we consider most important have changed and that’s as it should be. Always look forward and enjoy today as the old things will still be there and can be enjoyed again.

A lot of people will moan at me but in recent years my passion for new Who has diminished, but I was brought up with ‘Classic’ Who and will always been a fan. The new box sets are keeping my Who interests going.

    • The ergon

      August 13th, 2021 - 6:57pm

I just wish they would go back to the old 25 min format with cliffhangers. Thats the one thing that i cant get on board with, with regards to nu who. It was bad enough when they adopted this idea during colins tenure.

    • John Sissons

      August 14th, 2021 - 12:18pm

I am the same. For me the BBC and Chibnall have killed my favourite programme and has had a knock on effect regarding merchandise. Never thought I would see the day of falling out with Dr Who. I have not grown out of it , I just hate what the BBC and Chibnall have done to it. Still love the classic series blu ray releases so all not lost.

    • TheBrigadier@2013

      August 14th, 2021 - 3:12pm

Same here, John Sissons! Love the classic series and love the new series up to when Chibnall took over. The show is now a shadow of its former self, which is very sad to see. The classic blu rays keep me going too (can’t wait for The Web of Fear steelbook to land!) and also these B&M figure sets from the classic series are fantastic!

    • Rhys Woodfield

      August 15th, 2021 - 4:04pm

I completely lost interest in Doctor Who during the Capaldi run, resumed watching when the dreadful Clara was gone but still had lost a lot of my interest in it. I got rid of loads of my merch. Then suddenly over the first lockdown my love for the show returned. Its a weird thing but Doctor Who is my comfort thing to turn to and I’m pretty obsessed again! I wouldn’t say I miss all the merch I got rid of because its nice living with fewer possessions but if you have recently fallen out of love with Doctor Who I daresay it will come back unexpectedly so hang on to them!

  • Matt

    August 9th, 2021 - 12:09pm

Does anyone know what the differences are on the 1st Dr figure?

    • Philip Shaw

      August 9th, 2021 - 12:22pm

Just by a quick look the figure is very like the 13 Dr’s set, but has a blue necktie instead of black and the waistcoat may be slightly different.

    • booboo

      August 9th, 2021 - 12:23pm

The original similar release was from the web planet in the 13 Doctors Set.

this one from The Sensorites has solid black /brown shoes, blue neck tie instead of white and cream waistcoat instead of brown with black strippes, these differences were more or less seen on screen.

better pic, the face paints apps on the new one seem better than the 13th doctors set one.

    • masterdoctorten

      August 9th, 2021 - 4:54pm

So essentially @Matt and @booboo, the new figure has the trousers of the 13 Doctor’s set version, but the top half of the original, 60s 1st Doctor figure

    • coupeskidoo

      August 9th, 2021 - 11:44pm

@masterdoctorten: “top half of the original, 60s 1st Doctor figure” – Cool! I wasn’t aware they released a detailed Harntell figure in the ’60s.

I remember their was a bit of Sash swapping shinnanigans in the story, so I suppose it’s ok?

  • Dan Liwszyc

    August 7th, 2021 - 5:40am

I haven’t seem anything in print or on web as to if / where they might be available from for international buyers ( specifically Australia). We’ve been fortunate with the last few releases, the packs making it to Australian stores, but the current lack of info is a bit worrying. Does anyone have any info on this?

    • Matthew Jones

      August 9th, 2021 - 11:08am

I’m sure the Who Shop in Ryde – Sydney will at least have them. But yes it has been a bit hit and miss. Sanity seem to have stopped socking Doctor Who figures and Culture Shock seemed to have stopped as well. Minotaur perhaps?

    • Matthew Jones

      August 9th, 2021 - 11:11am

PopCultucha have also stopped stocking Doctor Who – Mighty Ape maybe?

With Popcultucha just going by their web site they have (and have had for quite a while) very limited Doctor Who products. Don’t know why but even shops which have served well in the past like Zing have next to know Doctor Who merch at all let alone figures.
