    Just recieved mine. Looks lovely.
Although some better proof reading was needed.
4 pages in and already 2 glaring errors with duplicate and wrong words used.

    “They Sycorax” whoops.

Although, just want to add that the story featuring them is excellent. Had me hooked.

There’s also a bit of a howler with the spot the different page. They printed the answer panel instead of the second picture!

Technically that makes it different to the first picture, so just circle the whole thing and bam, you’re a winner!

Annual arrived today. It’s a standard annual like we’ve had for years. Last year the fiction story was taken from the, then forthcoming, origins book. This year’s story is the exclusive 14th doctor story from the forthcoming 10th doctor festive collection. There is a twist to it as they have halved the story. One half text the other a comic strip adaptation of the remaining section. I’m happy with the annual. It’s a kids book. It’s not aimed at my age group. It’s an annual and that’s fine.

    Why?
Is it full of the new Dr wearing tons of dresses?
    Cue Emily from Little Britain…

Books even though sales not as big as years ago still have a big mar, etc, whereas magazines have been going down hill for a few years now. Used to work in a newsagents and what we sold then isn’t near what sells now.

The annual has a six month shelf life and wider audience = more chance of sales. The magazine has less than a month shelf life and more niche audience = less chance of sales.

Well I have read it & it’s dismal! Yes, it’s a kid’s annual; fine – But do you really need to waste 2 pages on an advert for the 14th. Specials? These annuals really need a change-up instead of the same stuff printed over & over again. Apart from about 6 pages of interest, even an 8 year old would be bored with this! About time they brought back the Storybook Annuals.
