Doctor Who Annual 2022

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk and www.hive.co.uk

The official annual, and the must-have gift for Doctor Who fans of all ages!

Hello! I’m the Doctor, and this is my book.

Only it isn’t like other books, because I’m going to tell you what happens at the end first – I escape! From space prison!

Amazing eh? But while I was locked up I kept a diary, and you can read some of it in the pages that follow – along with loads of top-secret intelligence reports from my friends (and even some enemies). Enjoy!

The ultimate guide to all things Doctor Who – from the Doctor herself whilst she’s locked up in space prison!

Jam packed with activities, puzzles, stories and all your favourite characters from series new and old, your journey through time and space starts right here.

the cover used for the 2022 calendar by Landmark. would have been ideal.

if true, that sounds more like a corporate/BBC decision if they are changing the entire current style guide.

As a kid there was nothing more eye catching in a book shop than the latest annual or magazine with a just picture of Peter Davison or Colin Baker on it, I loved the Tardis but I loved seeing the Doctor more.

There are most likely no new official images of the 13th Doctor beyond what have already been used numerous times, had they have used one of those no doubt people would have complained about the over use of already used images.

Like it or not things are not as they used to be. The image of The Tardis can sometimes sell things just as much as an image of a Doctor. It may well be another cover was planned and ditched, as per several other franchises

True the Tardis is an icon in itself and I love seeing it this is just a rather boring illustration of it we have seen so many times before I guess.
They should have commissioned some art like something the comics have on their covers they always look awesome, I buy some just for the covers and they have interesting Tardis covers too.

Let’s start a conspiracy theory: they don’t put 13 on the merchandise because it hits the sales figures. No evidence for this at all, but if it spreads then it might get TPTB to get their fingers out and get their acts together… (They’ve definitely lost the knack of marketing, and Who could follow Holby at this rate.)

All merchandise has a lead in time of around 6 months before you get to see it, so this hasn’t just happened, unless there has been a last minuet change to something that was on the cover so they don’t loose their printing slot, the 13th Doctor is on virtually every page according to the writer (who had nothing to do with the cover).

Also they (BBC Studios) have a new licencing manager who’s job its is to expand the Doctor Who Portfolio amongst others.

It could be as simple as the original cover featured capt jack. Once again though people try to read too much into things

Dreary cover. Not sure who’s taken over the marketing lately but it needs a shake up I think.

No Jodie She is really let down by the merchandise. Even Time Lord Victorious only had her in a few comic panels.

Maybe the original cover featured John Barrowman and they decided to change it

This cover adds Futher weight to the theory that Jodie will leave after series 13. Surely they would of put her on the cover otherwise like all the other annuals so far. Also notice how no doctor is specified on the weight up.

That hasn’t happened with any other annual. Also, it clearly references the 13th Doctor in the, as you say, weight up.

2018 calendar features Peter Capaldi , as we know Jodie Whittaker first appeared in 2018. If Jodie was leaving, you won’t see the next Doctor featured until the 2023 annual 🙂

Jodie should be on the cover. Prison outfit and all…

Is this the actual cover? If so, shame Jodie isn’t on it!!
