Doctor Who Action Figures Wave 1D
This wave is similar to wave 2d with 3 minor variants. This wave is in the new series 6 packaging.
Please note there appears to be different batches in this wave, some coming with a flesh packet and others not
*Corroded Cyberman limb damage & shock hands and open head (The same Cyberman as in wave 2d but with shock hands and open head)
*Corroded Cyberman face damage & shock hands (The same Cyberman as in wave 1c but with shock hands)
*The Astronaut (river song)
*Eleventh Doctor with beard
*Cybermats
*Silent with open mouth & lightning effect hands (same “Grey” silent as in wave 1b but with lightening effect hands)
*Peg soldier(called peg-doll soldier on packaging front and back)
The Silent with open mouth and the Corroded Cyberman with face damage & shock hands from this wave…
The official image for Wave 1D which includes a flesh packet however this was not included with the ones we purchased.

The Doctor with Beard in Tweed is a very “fun” variant, it’s worth getting for sure.
The Cybermen are perfect for Army Building, plus who doesn’t love a good old Cyberman?

November 30th, 2011 - 10:09amThe hands on the silents are specifically made to hold the lightning, the hands on the previous versions are much bigger but you can still get them to hold the lightening.
On the Cyberman the electric bits fit over the thumb and the hands are wide open for it to fit neatly.
Most previous cyberman have part closed of clenched fists not really going to work on them

take an exaple – the silent with eltric hand, doctor with face thing, cyberman with electric hand…ect and half that stuff is not related to that figure!

November 29th, 2011 - 10:01pmvariants have always been the name of the game, it been happening since these figures started however i think people are getting impatient as we havnet had any brand new figures in what seems like ages now so i have some sympathy with that.

November 29th, 2011 - 10:37pmThe problems really kicked off when the Davros sets came out earlier this year. Suddenly there were four sets with an identical format amongst the first five sets of the year, and people became a bit irritated by it (exacerbated by the price).

November 30th, 2011 - 6:25ami do agree with all of you co has been doing this forever, even cb if you think about it, blu shirted doctor without jacket, red shirted doctor with jacket, blue shirted doctor with jacket, and series 2 docor. also amy, but when i used to collect the 5inch figures i got the stolen earth set and then came out the vespavorm wave! i had to collec them all again just to build a new massive figure! now we say we want a rory figure soon we wont stop getting new rory figures 😀

They wanted everything on BBC Three to be their own and have nothing to do with the other channels. Their Doctor Who repeats have stopped as well.

November 29th, 2011 - 1:34pmCo with another shocking scheme to make money – just get rory,handbots,minotaur etc out! Plus handbots would be a good money maker – they could use a simolaur sculpt as the hoix for the minotaur , the same with antibodies and the toclafane!

November 29th, 2011 - 2:30pmif they do handbot they can use the sculpt twice for rory handbot aslong as they change it so there no hands also id love a minotaur as it was a good monster and quite big so it would be a cool figure i also want s6 rory any episode preferably the drs wife amy from the drs wife, rory roman, river in grey outfit , loads more peg dolls , cyberleader with gun and re release of cyberman with gun as i dont have it

November 29th, 2011 - 2:32pmYes, the Handbots would be a good sculpt for co. They can even do an open head version because the body is still the same. So that would be 3 different figures from one main sculpt.
We still have all next year yet for figures from series 6 so i’m sure we are going to get alot more.

November 29th, 2011 - 2:33pmIt takes quite a while to get a ‘brand new’ figure made and released. In the meantime they release lots of variants to keep everyone preoccupied lol. 😛
If we didn’t have these variants, we probably wouldn’t get the new figures much faster… and we’d have long waits with nothing released.
…And being Christmas soon, companies are understandably trying to get as much product on the shelves as possible.
