Character tend to put them on the site just before delivery or when they are actually in stock. they have in most cases (but not all) had them for sale at the release date.

Looking forward to these, hopefully there will be more down the line, but nopefully not much variants this time round as we had too many last year, I will be getting a few Silents, a couple of each(if i can and allowed) and will get one of all the others, I can’t wait for the next wave to come out which will probably be a few weeks after the Summer break which I look forward too.

Only 2.11 so far The God Complex, 2.9 has the working title of What are Little Boys Made Of? but is incredibly likely to change.

Well no Rory or River, but the only MAJOR new figure is the Silence, and even they are both variants, and with the Time Monster set, I’m starting to get the impression Character are losing intrest in 5 Inch (NOOO!) Figures, Character Building and all. Still a Small but Superb wave, no quarrels from me!

This is very annoying No Rory or River. Instead we get another Doctor Varient which only appeared for 30 seconds on TV. Two silince with diffrent facial expressions (pointless al we need is one)A cheap Green repainted ood (glow in the dark should cover that). Amelia is the only one i have high praise for and closed mouth Silince

Charecter Options will still haven’t seen:
Rory, River,Amy(Imposible Astronaught),Astronaught,Delaware,The Siren Girl,Idris let alone the next few episodes.

They aren’t allowed to release figures from future episodes by the BBC because of spoilers, and The Curse of the Black Spot was only filmed in February and it takes at least six months to produce a figure from scratch. With costumes prepared in January the earliest we could get a figure in July.

    • booboo

      May 16th, 2011 - 9:10pm

I wondered if figures were produced in filming rather than episode order , it all makes sense really

    • someone

      May 16th, 2011 - 9:22pm

No in fact we are schedueled for a Captain Avery so anonymous is wrong I am surprised that it didn’t turn up in this initial wave also where is “sexy” she is due…

    • Anonymous

      May 16th, 2011 - 9:58pm

Avery is a real life historical character which they are not allowed to make them without paying a massive fee towards descendants or a corresponding estate of some form. Doubt one exists for Avery but there will be some kind of loophole which will get them out of making a good figure.

    • Anonymous

      May 16th, 2011 - 10:16pm

They cannot physically fully produce and release Avery until about July (give six months production from scratch and January costume preperations) at the earliest so I think you must be wrong “someone”.

    • King Ninja

      May 16th, 2011 - 11:15pm

17th century historical character’s are not copyrighted. And Avery was a ruthless pirate so i doubt his family claims money for any kind of estate. If they could, they would have kicked up a fuss about his fictional use in the episode and of all the useage of ‘his’ image in magazines etc…So while you are smart to think of such possibilities, I still have high hopes of a figure being released…

    • Anonymous

      May 17th, 2011 - 9:43am

If they labeled it “Pirate Captain” they could get away with it. Different rules apply between television shows and figures as nobody is making profits off of a television show directly. While his family if there are indeed any would not have an estate they will still be taxed by the government for using “human likeness” and so they could similarly tax for not going to the correct authority (even though there isn’t one).

They are both generally ok to be honest, they tend to run out of their initial order quickly so you have to wait for the next delivery which can be weeks, or even months sometimes, order immediately and you should be ok or wait for Character to put them up – they are very good also.

      Doctor with Stetson
      Green Eyed Ood (Nephew)
      and two Silent Variants

Amelia Pond, however, was on my series five wish list from last year and now we’ve got two – fantastic 😀

Relax, Rory is definitely on the cards as well as River, Canton, Astronaut, Idris and I’m sure there will be a Captain Avery (Well here’s hoping anyway – watch this space)

I know for definite there will be a Lady Kovarian figure released this year, which will be surreal cause my Aunt plays her in the TV series 😀

    • Come along Pond

      May 16th, 2011 - 11:50pm

Rubbish? These figures are a fantastic start to the Series 6 line up; we may even see more figures of characters from series 5 added to this wave, which would be fantastic also – Father Octavian, River Song variants from 5.4/5.5, 5.12/5.13 and 6.1/6.2, Liz 10, Malohkeh and Eldane, Rosanna, Saturnyne as well as The Rebel Flesh and Gangers; be patient and I’m sure CO will deliver 😀

younger Amy isint even in Series 6 far as i know, so why she in the Series 6 range when she’s a Series 5 character ?. Character made that same error with the Time Lord figure, put him the Series 4 range when he only appeared in Series 3.

    • Anonymous

      May 16th, 2011 - 8:35pm

I don’t think it is wave 1 of this series, it’s just the first wave of the year, like they used to do mixed waves from the RTD era.

    • booboo

      May 16th, 2011 - 8:39pm

That would be an interesting way of doing it, there were so many good series 5 figures we didn’t get

    • booboo

      May 17th, 2011 - 9:52am

I’ve had a look, they are different, this must be Amelia form the 11th hour, the Doctor Who experience looks a much better likeness so maybe this is an early sample

Rabid Frog – Booboo is right, it is still 2 more stories before the break –

      The Rebel Flesh [ 1 / 2 ]
      The almost people [ 2 / 2 ]
A good man goes to war

    • Come along Pond

      May 17th, 2011 - 12:02am

Technically, I think it’s 1 story (The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People) and the beginning of another (A Good Man Goes To War… a long wait and then Episode 8, which will be the concluding part of Episode 7) Look out for Eyepatch Lady/Lady Kovarian in these two episodes…

  • McGann is The Doctor.

    May 16th, 2011 - 7:39pm

Im at odds and ends with the Doctor+Stettson figure, Im GLAD that they’ve not given him the Tigerskin-Jacket from that Christmas adventure set but its still a loss that its the same one from Series 5, which was, to be fair, a different Tweed Jacket. The REAL one worn in the Series in 2011 was Freakin Amazing !! ❗

And the hat-hair of the figure looks (IN these Prototype Pictures anyway) slightly off. But I can’t really judge the authenticity of the Figure until it comes out, summer holidays.

Your Right, The Hair / Hat is slightly off because in the show a part of his fringe hanged down to the side of his head, by his ear. though in fairness to try to recreate that look on the figure would be impossible. though on a good note there getting MUCH better at making matts face. It looks exactly like him. Im going to get this along with amelia and the closed mouth silent or whatever silent pops up in argos or other stores in town
