But is the same force that killed them still lurking in the dark? And what are its plans for the people of Earth?

The Third Doctor is sent to investigate – and soon uncovers a sinister plot to colonise the Earth. The Gaderene are on their way…

He has no choice but to travel back in time and discover how he became a hero.
And then he finds out. He did it by sacrificing his life.

Doctor Who: Fear of the Dark: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Trevor Baxendale
On a moon of the ruined planet Akoshemon, an age-old terror is about to be reborn.

Forced to confront his own worst fears, even the Doctor will be pushed to breaking point – and beyond.

Arriving on the sun-baked veldt in the middle of the Boer War, the Sixth Doctor is soon involved in the adventures of struggling politician and war correspondent Winston Churchill.
Of course, he knows Churchill is destined for great things, but unseen forces seem to be interfering with Winston’s historic career…
The Doctor suspects the hidden hand of the Players, mysterious beings who regard human history as little more than a game. With time running out, can the Doctor find the right moves to defeat them?
An adventure featuring the Sixth Doctor as played by Colin Baker and his companion Peri
Doctor Who: Remembrance of the Daleks: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Ben Aaronovitch
With unfinished business to attend to, the Seventh Doctor returns to where it all began: Coal Hill School in London in 1963.
Last time he was here, the Doctor left something behind – a powerful Time Lord artefact that could unlock the secrets of time travel.
Can the Doctor retrieve it before two rival factions of Daleks track it down? And even if he can, how will the Doctor prevent the whole of London becoming a war zone as the Daleks meet in explosive confrontation?
An adventure featuring the Seventh Doctor as played by Sylvester McCoy and his companion Ace
Doctor Who: Earthworld: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Jacqueline Rayner
Anji has just had the worst week of her life. She should be back at her desk, not travelling through time and space in a police box.
The Eighth Doctor is supposed to be taking her home, so why are there dinosaurs outside? The Doctor doesn’t seem to know either, or else he surely would have mentioned the homicidal princesses, teen terrorists and mad robots?
One thing is certain: Anji is never going to complain about Monday mornings in the office again.
An adventure featuring the Eighth Doctor as played by Paul McGann and his companions Fitz and Anji
Doctor Who: Only Human: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Gareth Roberts
Reports of a time disturbance lead the Ninth Doctor to modern-day London, where he discovers a Neanderthal Man, twenty-eight thousand years after his race became extinct.
A trip back to the dawn of humanity only deepens the mystery: who are these strange humans from the far future now living in the distant past?
The Doctor must learn the truth about the Osterberg experiment before history is changed forever.
An adventure featuring the Ninth Doctor as played by Christopher Eccleston and his companion Rose
Doctor Who: Beautiful Chaos: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Gary Russell
Wilfred Mott is very happy: his granddaughter, Donna, is back home, catching up with family and gossiping about her journeys, and he has just discovered a new star and had it named after him.
He takes the Tenth Doctor with him to the naming ceremony. But the Doctor soon discovers something else new, and worryingly bright, in the heavens – something that is heading for Earth.
It’s an ancient force from the Dark Times. And it is very, very angry…
An adventure featuring the Tenth Doctor as played by David Tennant and his companion Donna
Doctor Who: The Silent Stars Go By: 50th Anniversary Edition
by Dan Abnett
The winter festival is approaching for the hardy colony of Morphans, but no one is in the mood to celebrate.
They’re trying to build a new life on a cold new world, but each year gets harder and harder. It’s almost as if some dark force is working against them.
Then three mysterious travelers arrive out of the midwinter night, one of them claiming to be a doctor. Are they bringing the gift of salvation or doom? And what else might be lurking out there, about to wake up?
An adventure featuring the Eleventh Doctor as played by Matt Smith and his companions Amy and Rory

November 27th, 2012 - 7:16amIt’s annoying to think that of all the superb original novels to feature the Seventh Doctor, they plump for a novelisation. A GOOD novelisation, sure, but when all other Doctors feature in original novels, it seems a bit of an insult.
I’d have chosen something from the NAs instead. First Frontier, Iceberg, Love and War?
Love the covers though. The 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors all seem a little plain (they’re just overused promo pics, the first 8 Doctors have superb retro covers. I’d like to see them as posters.

I’ve already read Only Human and Beautiful Chaos but I don’t mind rereading them
Chris
November 26th, 2012 - 11:10pmI’m a bit disappointed about Remembrance of the Daleks. All but 7 get original novels, but he just gets a adaptation? Could have been the perfect time to re-release something rare like Lungbarrow or So Vile A Sin.

November 26th, 2012 - 10:14pmI already have, and adore, ‘The Silent Stars Go By’ but the rest I have not read.
Really hope they will sell them all together somewhere as, even though I already have one of them, they all not only look cool, it’s a wonderful peice of 50th merchandise!
Doctor Who Crazy Ross

Doctor Who Crazy Ross
November 26th, 2012 - 6:27pmIs it just me that thinks that the Dalek looks a bit ‘Remembrance of the Daleks action figure set’-ish?

November 26th, 2012 - 5:34pmThe 2nd doctor one is badly done. I mean, a photo of Troughton hovering above a tower of some sort.

November 26th, 2012 - 5:35pmThe Third Doctor one is weird and fake looking.

November 26th, 2012 - 5:15pmIf you look at the top of the spine of them, you can see pictures of each Doctor, although, Some of them I think may be Doctor Who Standees
The TARDIS
November 26th, 2012 - 4:11pmIt would have been nice to see some Virgin New or Missing Adventures… But I like the look of the books, and the idea of introducing “New Who” fans (if such a thing exists) to the classic series, but… Couldn’t they have come up with new stories rather than just re-prints that won’t match any other range? And for a completist who owns all of the originals (with much better covers) it seems a bit… cheap. Please, Beeb… New fiction with old Doctors!

November 26th, 2012 - 5:36pmI have only heard of the 7th,9th,10th and 11th doctor books. There are some Virgin Books that I know of that I would of prefered to be re-released.
Shadow of Weng-Chiang and Shakedown both come to mind

December 4th, 2012 - 12:45pmTrue, but there are some that are so good I would rather they never got reprinted.

November 17th, 2012 - 3:46pmGreat to see some of the BBC novels being reprinted (& Remembrance) although about half of them do seem rather odd choices. Hopefully we’ll be seeing some more reprinted in the coming years.
Oh and the new covers are really nice too.
TheWhomobile

November 14th, 2012 - 10:16amRead a few of these – Remembrance seems odd amongst the titles as it’s a Target book rather than a new or missing adventure. Fear of the Dark (5th Doc) and Ten Little Aliens (1st Doc) are the best ones from memory!
Mr Zarbi
