The Mr Master
October 28th, 2014 - 9:40amthis may be similar to what happened with the 13″ dalek supreme, it was on very.com for a price near to £60 but then a few weeks later it was in B and M for half the price. Hoping this may happen again
SteveW
October 28th, 2014 - 9:35amHe looks pretty much the same as the first one… can anyone confirm what is different? (does he say or do new things?). Thanks.
booboo
October 28th, 2014 - 9:38amDarker grey and the “handle” on the body behind the head is gone so this is a “classic” one, new phrases as well i think but i didn’t buy one ( price to steep even for us) so i dont know anything else
The Silent Silent
October 27th, 2014 - 9:41pmI really want this but the price is too high.
Exterminator
October 28th, 2014 - 12:43amI agree, I can’t afford £70. 🙁
SteveW
October 28th, 2014 - 9:30amI know, the price is ridiculous… especially as the first one was only £40 a few years ago. It’s a shame as he looks really nice… but £70!?
The five doctors
November 7th, 2014 - 8:48pmReally high for fans to afford especially me as I’m getting TOTD set & TIS for x- mas
Doctorwhofan561
October 26th, 2014 - 11:38pmThis is one of the best things ever because when I got into doctor who in 2008 this was long gone and I was just about to order one for a lot of money but then they bring this out I can’t believe it. PS doctor if you read this I still want to come back to the TARDIS I’ll be in touch
Sniffy
October 26th, 2014 - 7:50pmLooks really cool! But the price doesn’t 🙁
doctor what
October 26th, 2014 - 4:59pmSaw a few of these in TRU today. The packing background is from the 4th doctor era!

October 26th, 2014 - 8:43amDoes this have a new Classic packaging? I’m intrigued as to how it looks in the box
doctor what
October 26th, 2014 - 9:16amI think its the same packaging the classic figures have
SteveW
October 28th, 2014 - 9:12amI saw a couple of these in TRU yesterday… they’re in the same sort of packaging as the new/TRU “Asylum Of The Daleks” set. They look very nice – but that price…(!)
the wigan timelord
October 26th, 2014 - 4:52amim going to wait for next year when the remote controlled one comes out via blue tooth and your mobile phone is the remote comes out next year at fp for the same price

October 25th, 2014 - 7:25pmSaw this at my local toys r us today in bristol! I got it for £63 because my brother works there
Owen
October 25th, 2014 - 8:04pmOooh!! You went to my nearest one!!! <3 it there so many memories. If i say i am a friend of yours can i get discount to(lol joking)
The Silent Silent
October 25th, 2014 - 9:09pmI went there once or twice. Its quite good.
Owen
October 26th, 2014 - 2:14pmIt is amazing in there always had that as my TRU.
Andrew
October 25th, 2014 - 3:25pmGreat piece, was going to get it at the £40 price point, but what!? £70 is way too much for the simplicity this has.
The Silent Silent
October 25th, 2014 - 12:18pmIts a re-release but is more expensive that it originally cost. completely makes sense 🙂 LOL
The Monitor
October 25th, 2014 - 12:24pmIt has had new phrases recorded and is a 4th Doctor version rather than 10th.
Bear in mind that the recent plush K9 was £30 for something quite small.
The trend seems to be that k9 related merchandise is thought to be less mainstream than daleks, is therefore made in less quantities, and ends up costing more.
Pete da Cald
October 25th, 2014 - 1:26pmHe’s fantastic!!! I wanted one of the little tin (plastic?) pups when originally released but missed out, so this time I will get him! And the fact that he’s now the Classic charcoal grey that I grew up watching is just icing on the cake! Wooooowho! Loving this and can’t wait til he’s available in the US!
doctor what
October 25th, 2014 - 9:30pmSince SJA is over, the K9 TV show stopped and K9 isn’t in doctor who anymore I think anything K9 related is going to become less and less popular.
booboo
October 25th, 2014 - 9:31pmwell…. shhhhhhhhhhh
doctor what
October 25th, 2014 - 9:43pmUmmm…..Booboo what do you mean? Sorry I don’t quite understand your post….
booboo
October 25th, 2014 - 9:45pmyour not supposed to
doctor what
October 25th, 2014 - 9:48pmNow i’m confused!
Has anyone who has got this said what the new phrases are?
Daleked Perfection
October 26th, 2014 - 1:03pmI hope they bring K9 back into the show. Also this rerelease looks better than the ‘School reunion’ one.
ahunter8056
October 25th, 2014 - 11:36am£70??!! They must be joking! The original was £40. No way am I paying £70. I’ve lost my original one, so I was planning on buying this, but I’ll just wait for it to drop in price after nobody buys it.
The Monitor
October 25th, 2014 - 12:35pmMy second nearest TRU has sold 2 at least already.
A lot of exclusive-to-shop sets seem/are overpriced. I have sometimes waited for it to come down, and ended up missing it, never to see it again except on eBay at 3 times the original price. There are only so many times one can visit TRU in a year when you live 20 miles away; I still probably manage 15-20.
I have sometimes paid twice as much for an item 2nd hand and damaged as I could have got it originally.
booboo
October 25th, 2014 - 12:47pmthis is true
CG
November 13th, 2014 - 8:21amHow can you lose something that big? Thats like losing my lifesize tardis in my backyard.
The Monitor
October 25th, 2014 - 10:46amI bought mine yesterday evening in TRU. Didn’t even know it was coming. The shelf can only take two of them.
£70 was a shock, but it will probably be a TRU exclusive so they have a monopoly on it.
At least it is not a Tenth Dr re-release, otherwise I would have thought twice.
Wholockian
October 31st, 2014 - 7:23pmAwesome! How big was it and what were the phrases? Did it sound like the 4th Doctors K-9? Sorry for the spam of questions! Need details before I buy!
Owen
October 24th, 2014 - 11:56pmWait guys theres no Ariel so that means it wireless c;
KEVIN BUNKER
October 24th, 2014 - 11:48pmI’d not pay £70, even at £50 I’d have to think about it…, £40 or under & I’d just buy it though. 🙂
KEVIN BUNKER
October 30th, 2014 - 4:13amI had a look at this in Toys R Us yesterday & it’s the same as the remote control K-9 I’ve already got, just in a different box…, it’s a very nice item though & for those that don’t already own one, well worth getting.
Ian
October 24th, 2014 - 10:23pmTRU being greedy. That is too much. The Aslymn dalek is still at £40 and hasn’t sold well. I think K9 will be the same. Shame I woukd like it but not for £70
The Silent Silent
October 24th, 2014 - 10:07pm£70 !!!!! I would pay max £40
doctor what
October 24th, 2014 - 10:05pmMy original version has a broken remote, might pick this up but £70!?!?! Bit much if you ask me. Might get a broken original and repaint it as I would only display it.
doctor what
October 24th, 2014 - 10:06pmAlso glad they added new phrases, I really didn’t expect that!
Sam Richard Bentley
October 24th, 2014 - 10:01pmGlad to see a classic K9 release. Never been done, a Classic K9. I may look into getting one, when the price goes down because that… that is too much.
Ian
October 25th, 2014 - 7:55amIf price goes down. The Asylum Dalek is still at full price £39.99 and the Union Jack Dalek is still at £29.99.
robster
October 25th, 2014 - 11:40amSo the first one they did,the one I have, isn’t the Classic one? This one looks just the same, only with different phrases.
booboo
October 25th, 2014 - 11:53amthis is a “classic” one, the original you have was based on the new series design
It is a variant as there is no “handle” on the body behind the head as per the classic K9 and it looks darker grey
Sam Richard Bentley
October 25th, 2014 - 11:56amNo. They have never released a Classic K9 in any form of figure or model etc. In the figures, they continuously re-released the Modern K9 just with Classic figures.
And this looks rather different from the original remote control K9, he had a different collar, and I believe the screen on the other side of him is different too. Also, the silver looks a lot darker.
robster
October 25th, 2014 - 8:41pmSo what Dapol made was not based on the classic K-9? And Palitoy, back in the day? Or do you just mean CO has never released a classic K-9? ‘Cos I know others have.
And yes,it does seem like a darker grey,I like it,might get this one too.
Sam Richard Bentley
October 26th, 2014 - 9:43pmYes. Of course I meant Character Options/Underground Toys.
robster
October 27th, 2014 - 4:06amOh,ok. That wasn’t entirely clear, lol. At least CO/UGT make the better looking ones. Although that little mini kit from Running Press is pretty good looking one too.
DILBOT10000
October 24th, 2014 - 9:53pmI love this, I still have the original one in the loft, tail is broken though! Wee bit pricey though. I might cave in and buy it anyway.
DILBOT10000
October 24th, 2014 - 10:00pmOrdered it. Better be good for the price. Toys’R’Us have only just started delivery to my address again as they have deemed it too rural for the past year or so. Why the change in heart all of a sudden, but I’m not complaining.
They sent out the Dalek Asylum set to me two days ago and it was with me Today. UPS standard delivery, excellent service.
DILBOT10000
October 24th, 2014 - 10:02pmFound the user manual online too haha

StetsonDoctor
October 24th, 2014 - 9:38pm£70?! The original release wasn’t this much was it?
booboo
October 24th, 2014 - 9:41pmno, even i am taken aback by that price
unless of course this in internet only inflated price so they can do an offer later
Tesco used to do it with the 3 figure sets, it happens a lot
StetsonDoctor
October 24th, 2014 - 9:45pmWell, I hope it goes down. I guess there’s always two ways these exclusives can go: either they sell out dead quick, or stick around for a while. If the latter happens, hopefully we may see a considerable decrease…
SteveW
October 28th, 2014 - 9:27am…the price of the original one was £39.99 – so this is a whopping £30 price increase(!).
