I don’t normally go for this scale of figure, but the first pic I ever saw of this sold me! Instant pre-order! These new pics (thanks very much for them BTW) have only made me happier that I did decide to get an order in! It’s brilliant!

I’m the sort of collector that often leaves things on display unopened in the packaging and I have to say this will look great displayed next to the Seven20 sonic.

When did your sample of this doll arrive Booboo? Did you have it before the sonic was revealed yesterday?

I decided that I won’t be buying any of the 13th Doctor stuff, just not really keen on her especially the 10″ figure so will keep away from these, if any daleks are made then I will certainly buy them. Will watch the series when it starts again though.

Afraid there probably won’t be any daleks releases this year due to them not returning for Series 11.

They could release daleks under classic wave or just part of a general wave, even if they are not in the series, they normally sell well.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear…

Let’s face it, it CO sticking it to us again by changing the scale yet again… Theres no way this is in scale to the 12″ figures! Jodie is 5’6″ and David Tennant is 6’1″ A difference of 2 inches in the dolls is equat to a difference of 1 foot in real life!! She is only 7″ shorter!

I know a lot of Dads who even in this day and age would never allow there sons to have female “dolls” as they see them.

CO need to stick with the 5″ (5.5″) range and do more to get retailers interested… by having figures for the new series available by the time the episode it’s in airs, and by allowing them to pick which figures they want in a box…

I can see this one going the way of the Matt Smith 8″ and David Tennat 12″… the bargain bins down Poundland (assuming they don’t go bust).

This “doll” really is no different to the 12” figure range they brought out years ago, that my parents happily bought me for Christmas and Birthdays, that included the Martha one. It’ll have the Doctor Who Logo on it, they aren’t gonna care. If anything it’s more like a action man

    • booboo

      July 17th, 2018 - 9:07am

I have no doubt we will see a 5.5″ 13th Doctor, buts that’s a different market, this is aimed at, I assume an entirely new generation of fans both male and female as well as long term collectors.

    • CaptainJimiPie

      July 18th, 2018 - 6:28pm

Where exactly is the confirmed that they’ve decided to do this INSTEAD of a 5.5″ figure?

As far as I’m aware there’s not nothing official said along those lines, and it’s just people assuming that’s the case.

    • booboo

      July 18th, 2018 - 6:32pm

that’s quite correct, but for some people if it hasn’t got 5.5″ in front of it they shouldn’t be making it at all in their eyes

    • Who Knows

      July 18th, 2018 - 6:36pm

I was hoping this doll would be stylised the same way as the Star Wars Forces of Destiny & the Newly Incredible 2 line of dolls.

    • Who Knows

      July 18th, 2018 - 6:47pm

Worth checking out if you haven’t seen them – they are beautiful products that have a right to be on the market.

    • booboo

      July 18th, 2018 - 6:55pm

The problem here is that Star wars would outsell any Doctor who Figure a 100 times over if not more, and i fear the market is just not big enough for these variations, i believe this 10″ figure is aimed squarely at the UK market to get Doctor Who products back on supermarket / toy shop shelves to cater for a new % off the target audience.

    • whovian

      July 18th, 2018 - 11:41pm

WhoFanUK, it’s just a plastic toy. Any child of any gender should be allowed to play with whatever type of toys they want to. It’s political correctness gone incredibly, mad.

  • Nicholas Dickens

    July 16th, 2018 - 10:06am

I must wonder who’d have the 12” figures from 2006 12 years later? Especially children getting them into the new range?

I wish they’d continued the 12” range, well it wasn’t successful, the thing is, will this one relaunch the range?

it’s a 10″ doll with fabric clothes. Not in line with the 5″ range. More merch is to be announced in due course, a 5″ 13th Doctor, 5″ TARDIS and a sonic screwdriver are likely candidates and most probably will be revealed when we’ve seen the trailer

Yeah, however, 11 and therefore 12 will be out of scale, as the david tennant range was 12″, whereas, 11 was 10″. Apparently, the fact jodie is quite short in real life, and this is a full 10″, the same as the smith figure, she will technically be just about in scale with the tennant range (as Matt Smiths figure SHOULD have been anyway.)

To me this seems more in the style of an action man than a barbie (it’s proportionally accurate, for one thing, the hair is a single plastic piece and her outfit and stance suggest galactic adventurer). Plus it’s essentially a continuation of the Tenth Doctor line from 2006/7.

Also worth noting: ‘sonic accessory’. So we’ll get some sort of new visual material revealing at least the sonic screwdriver design, presumably at comic con (the character site says shipping date 23rd July).

This is all so exciting and awesome, I’m wondering if the new Sonic will have a special kind of gimmick like 11’s extending with the claws or 12’s having the rotating lights.
I also wonder if they might release a nice new trading card set to go with this series, stickers are okay but they’re nothing compared to the battles in time sets. Those ultra rare lenticular cards though 😀

I really like this but I probably won’t buy one as it’s just too ‘Jodie Doll’ for me, although I did get the 11th Dr with beard doll as that was a freebie from toys r us.

I think young girls will want it but can’t see it being very popular with boys apart from hardcore collectors. I’m sure Character Options have done their market research to see if young boys will play with this doll, I’d love to see the results.

I tend to not buy any of the dolls was the point I was trying to make. Bearded 11th was given to me free in Toys r us as part of a promotion for spending £20 on Dr Who merchandise in store! I miss toys r us 🙁

I’m genuinely interested to see if young boys would play with it though. I think the sales figures are going to be very interesting.

Having said that I probably wouldn’t buy the 10” Jodie Doll, if they were to release a big Tardis for this figure then I would snap it up.

As a collector of all things merchandise – and also the fact that I’ve followed Jodie Whittaker throughout several of her past TV Shows and Movies – This is a definite buy for me, and I’m a Male. It doesn’t bother me that it’s from a doll template, I just love Jodie Whittaker as an actress.

this 13 doctor 10 inch figures look amazing and I am so tempted to buy It when I have the cash but I am hoping at comic con we see 5.5inch figures cause to me that’s were its rely at I love the line so much it is one of my favourite toy lines of all time just look at that head sculpt on the 10inch its spot on to Jodie whittaker one while other toy lines took time to perfect there head sculpt likeness Character Options has mostly nailed it since they obtained the licence in 2006 expect the dark period of the 3.75inch figures my only concern is I am guessing that there more than likely will hit shops in the uk but what about other county’s like Canada, America, Australia and other county’s like I know that comic shops will get them but what about retail shops like Walmart cause even though doctor who started as this weird little British tv show back in 1963 it has grow to this massive huge pop culture icon were people all other the world know watch the show and love it and I feel that who ever does the distributing needs to get these in to more mane stream shops like Walmart, superstore and other stores across the seas shops like how we have b&m exclusives why cant they also be shared so in each county one store has it as a exclusive so every one can get it like Superstore in Canada, Walgreen’s in American and so forth just share the love of Doctor who all across the world.

Possible I suppose. Then again it would be easy for them to just tweak the existing 5″ scale one. But actually a 10″ scale TARDIS wouldn’t be that bad!

    • Bundy

      July 11th, 2018 - 9:41pm

What is making me wonder, is that the Barbie market has a lot of wardrobes, closets etc. which scale wise are probably not that much different to a TARDIS, and the figure itself is being pictured standing next to a TARDIS.

    • booboo

      July 11th, 2018 - 9:44pm

could be. we might find out next Friday

    • The Outcast

      July 12th, 2018 - 12:24pm

I can say with a fair bit of certainty that the TARDIS due to come out will NOT be of the 10 inch scale. On Zappies, the retail price listed was 20 pounds. Now I highly doubt any TARDIS to this scale would cost 20 pounds, especially as that is the price for this figure alone.

Besides, it doesn’t fit with what Character has done in the past, they’ve never made a 10 inch scale TARDIS before, so why would they now?
