If each design is based on First appearance why is it not a Dead Planet Dalek?

The boring answer is… somebody from FP’s web team took some liberty with that blurb. It was supposed to be a Dalek from the earliest eras of the show, timed to come out during First Doctor month (hence why Cybermen has a Second Doctor model, as that’s out during his dedicated month, and it’s Delgado for Third Doctor month).

nice to see my favourite dalek stories represented. War Games, Logopolis, Wheel in Space, The Pilot
But really, including forgettable cameos just makes it look like someone has mad a big mistake. I thought that there had been until I saw the asterisk small print.
Just because we heard some Daleks at the start of the movie doesn’t make it a Dalek Story

Then someone would complain that story had been left out no doubt.

It also gets trickier with the new series. Does The Pandorica Opens count as a cameo, or Dalek story? The Daleks are only a fleeting presence, but their appearance sets up The Big Bang. Is Flux a Dalek story – surely that’s too long to be a cameo, etc. So we adopted an approach of all, or nothing.

Probably because in the Doctor Who Universe, they first appeared in genesis of The Daleks, they did not exist before that.
