Diamond Classic Regenerated 4th Doctor

Available to order in the UK from www.amazon.co.uk

In his final adventure, the third Doctor is exposed to a massive dose of deadly radiation while battling the giant spiders of Metebelis III. Later, after getting lost in the Time Vortex, the TARDIS brings him back to UNIT headquarters where, with Sarah Jane, another Time Lord named Cho-Je, and the Brigadier watching over him, he regenerates one more.

This 5″ tall action figure depicts the fourth Doctor as he first appeared, newly regenerated at the end of “Planet of the Spiders.”

I’ve read some about import taxes 1-2 weeks ago, but the information got a bit jumbled in my mind, but I think if the price of your product is 15 pounds or less, excl. shipping, you don’t have to pay.

I’m sure this is just a colour error, I expect the figure is the same as the Time Capsule set, which a lot of people won’t be happy about.

  • Jaffa Cakes

    October 25th, 2014 - 12:29pm

This is slightly different to the Time Capsule version, the hair is the standard Fourth Doctor one opposed to the pushed back sculpt with the original release of the figure.

I wouldn’t worry about “devaluing” or anything like that, the Time Capsule release still remains the definitive look.

    • booboo

      October 25th, 2014 - 3:04pm

i think the next step will be the voting process if all that works

I suspect Underground Toys will continue with some “key” post 2005 releases as i think these maybe much higher volume sellers for them

I have no doubt the war doctor outsold any classic release

    • JaffaCakes

      October 25th, 2014 - 7:06pm

A shame that so many classic stories went unexplored in terms of figures.

Be honest, there are hundreds of classic monsters and robots in Dr Who. Just enough to make more 5 inch figures. What about companions, Time Lords and etc.

  • Eric the Dalek

I don’t think this is the same as the time capsule figure. The hair isn’t pushed back and the collars green. At least i hope it isn’t. That would really devalue the time capsule.

    • SteveW

      October 28th, 2014 - 9:00am

…yeah – this seems a bit different from the Time Capsule one: the shirts are a different colour and the heads appear to be different too.

Great to see this getting a separate release outside of the Fourth Doctor Time Capsule boxset! Would just like to see it get made available here in the UK now.

The Hue is wrong. If you have Photoshop, go on Hue/Saturation and change the Hue to 5 or 10 to the right. That should correct it.

  • Trenzalore

The fourth Doctor time capsule – ‘Contains an exclusive post-regenerative Fourth Doctor action figure, wearing Jon Pertwee’s trademark frill-fronted shirt’ well so much for that. I’m sure I won’t be the last person to say it but I am a little annoyed…
    Still its an excellent figure.

exclusive in the UK no doubt

There have been numerous “exclusive” figures especially from sets that got released on their own eventually

3 paradigm Daleks to start with

    • Trenzalore

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:40pm

So they were lying when they said it was exclusive? (I mean it did say the figure was exclusive on the cover)

    • StetsonDoctor

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:54pm

Well, I suppose they hadn’t considered selling individually at the time?

    • Trenzalore

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:58pm

I thought of that too, but they should have really stuck with what they said.
I’m kind of hoping this one is slightly different (like maybe a lighter skin tone or some improvements or whatever) then it wouldn’t detract the value of the capsule one…

    • booboo

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:26pm

not really, there was no indication it would get released like this

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      October 24th, 2014 - 8:34pm

I saw it coming from the get-go. Nothing exclusive stays exclusive. I said to my friend as soon as it was announced that the figure would get a solo release, or appear in a figure set at some point.

But I suppose you are right, it was never said it would be released.
