I remember seeing it at the time (I was 14) is my old age getting to me, or did the TARDIS materialise invisibly or was that just in the Target novelisation of the time. Please help an old soul who is approaching his 51st b’day and not near enough his first regeneration.

I believe the scene was cut at the last minute; but it has been found and is part of the special edition version of episode one if that’s the bit your talking about.

Thanks for that, sorry, I put your reply somewhere else. Which settles the fact that I am due for a regeneration (or something similar). I’m sort of ignoring the cover and settling for nostalgia instead. First switch of our force fields, and do it. (or something nearly like that!)

oh I’ve seen this, it looks more like one that babelcolour or someone else has mocked up. You can tell by the spacing of the text on the bottom green bar where it says the Tom Baker years and something doesn’t look quite right about the title font. Sorry 🙂

yeah… the region 1 covers are always released first, then we fans mock up our own region 2 versions with the art, and then within a few weeks before it’s released here, bbc release an official region 2 image (tut)

If I’m honest, I’m rather disappointed by this cover… It’s quite bland, and looks rubbishy in the r2 format. I don’t like the way that they have chopped off the top of the Zygon’s head.

I’ve now seen the final cover http://www.doctorwho.tv/whats-new/article/terror-of-the-zygons-dvd-contents-and-cover-announced … and it’s even worse. They haven’t chopped off the Zygon’s head, but they’ve covered up everything else. Looks much better in r1.

i would say back, anyway didn’t see this before and commented in a post on Mind of Evil requesting to see it, i have to say though that the spine won’t be yellow from what can be seen from the picture, i think its just easier for him to use as a background. And please Lee Binding do this well if your drawing this thanks although his covers have been excellent so i can trust it will be good 😀

Yeah on BBC Website, Babelcolour (who’s making the Directors cut clip) and other websites mentioned here all say September 30th. As far as l’m concerned its set in stone as the date now with the babelcolour website saying its “officially announced” in my opinion the more time to wait the better in terms of quality for the future.

Just recieved an e-mail from Sainsbury’s Entertainment saying Terror of the Zygons has been pushed back to 30/09/13.

Checked the BBC shop and they have also updated the date to 30/09/13.

Hopefully an official statement will be made soon to clarify and maybe revise the whole schedule.

      February 18th, 2013 - 1:14pm

yes the original release had no episode end or beginning music, just one big story, they then re -released it with separate episodes with different cover

    • celestial toymaker

      March 10th, 2013 - 12:18pm

like an omnibus version would they put that on the dvd

    • Anonymous

      March 10th, 2013 - 12:41pm

No, they have no intention of putting them on DVD. However, some edited down omnibus versions were broadcast on TV as repeats during the mid-70s and they are interested in releasing those versions.

Video collectors at the time are now having the same thing as todays dvd collectors – when it looked like the last few videos were going to come out, they instead gave us ‘revisitied’ videos of Terror or Zygons, Revenge of the cybermen and The Daleks.

I seem to recall a Dr. Harry Sullivan featurette (as suggested in the Robot text commentary). It would have been very fitting if it were included on the Zygons disc, as it was Harry’s final episode as traveling companion. Do we know if this featurette will ever be included in the future?

      March 12th, 2013 - 11:33pm

The documentary mentioned wasn’t about harry sulivan. It actually was about Ian marter and his written work. It’s actually been released already and its on the carnival of monsters special edition and the documentary is called on target: Ian marter

Im looking foward to the directors cut of episode 1. Originally there was a scene cut from episode 1 due to a grading issue and was thought to be lost. However it was found in the collection of the story editor of zygons Ian Mckendrick. It was in a mixture of colour and black and white footage. Babelcolour has colourised the black and white footage.
