Just seen The Book of Boba fett on Disney plus. Going to view the first episode tonight. Should be plenty of weird looking aliens and hopefully a decent plot to draw me in for the rest of the run. Keep your Jangos, Bobas the best.

Nice one ergon, your lucky to have Disney. As I mentioned before I’d love to watch Mandolorean, Bad Batch and Book of Boba Fett. Hoping their on bluray sooner rather than later.
Let me know if it’s any good.

Hello ergon, don’t know if you go on “Jedi Temple Archives” much but they’ve just put on a full review of the Book of Boba Fett, episode one..
Don’t go on if you havnt seen the first episode yet, it warns the review is full of spoilers.

Just ordered 50th Anniversary Greedo (in his proper waistcoat) from the cantina, not the Kermit the Frog one which somehow didn,t look right and a Gamorrean guard just for the hell of it. Out with the old in with the new as they say. Lets hope 2022 is a good one coleman with less delays. All the Best.

I’ll be very surprised if you don’t love the Gamorrean Guard ergon, it’s a work of art.
Even the 3.75 inch version is a masterpiece for something so tiny.
Many collectors have commented the smaller version when it came out was their favourite figure to date.
      (Greedo’s very good too).

Just been appreciating your star wars figure coleman. Good to see the bantha and rancor in there with the tauntun. i couldn,t judge the sizes Apart from the larger 12 inch stuff. Do you have many in the 6 inch black series range or have you recently just got back into these. the ones i,m after now are way over the price range now so i hope they reissue a few in this new 6 inch packaging. i was going to get an imperial stormtrooper but realised they were from either The Mandalorian or Rogue one. Is there any differences between these and the original no.9 and 48 orange series, i cant see any. I notice some of the black card stuff as been transferred to the newer packaging as well. I,ve just preordered ponda boba , Mr. Evazen which you mentioned a week or so ago and who if i remember were in the cantina scenes from a New hope.I wouldn,t mind Boba fett, which i hadn,t noticed at first, in his throne room outfit. Already have the deluxe one which i ordered from Staraction. Theres a lot sold out which i wouldn,t have minded as well.

Thanks ergon. As far as I know the Mandolorean and Rogue one six inch Stormtrooper is identical to the original New Hope ones that came out years before.. I’ve only 3.75 inch (Kenner and Hasbro) and 12 inch (Hasbro, Sideshow and Hot Toys) Star Wars figures on display. Like most of us I’m running out of room to display everything so some of it unfortunately gets boxed up. Got just about all the six inch Black Series stuff apart from last six months or so releases as I’m usually always playing catch up.
Yes Ponda Baba and Dr Evazan were from the Cantina in a New Hope were they bully Luke and Ben steps in and does some arm dispatching.LOL.

Will you be unboxing them all ergon and putting on display? They really deserve to be displayed there such great figures.
      Wish I’d more room myself.

It might seem sacrilegious but the ones i,m going to get (Space is also an issue, though we do have a spare room i use) are going to be unboxed and box thrown unless the figures
are prone to dust /wear and tear. I have all my eaglemoss daleks boxed up and the
eaglemoss cybermen will be going the same way unless i get another cabinet soon. Something has to give. Cant move in the shed for Doctor and TARDIS sets so unless its colin or sylvesters i,m going to say no to those from now on just concentrate on new items. I have storage boxes full of boxes which i would dispose of also but i save in case things need putting away.
Might pick up those imperial and sandtroopers, i want the Jedha patrol one which i assume will be the same as the original New Hope as Rogue one is actually more faithful and set prior/during the Death Star being built.

Just been Checking “Jedi Temple Archives” ergon and I’m sure the 6 inch stormtrooper and Sandtrooper figures from Rogue one and Mandolorean are the same as the New Hope ones.
Check “Jedi Temple Archives” now if you’ve time, I’ve just noticed theyve just put a review up of the Black series Bib Fortuna you mentioned pre-ordering.

Sorry ergon, my mistake it’s a Vintage collection Bib review (3.75) and not the Black series.

I think the #No.48 trooper had blue on the arms between the armour. The No.9 imperial one looks almost identical to The Mandalorian and Rogue one figure. They are very pricey those two, whether its because of the original boxing i don,t know.

Just had a Knock on the door ergon, Black series Lando Calrissian (Return of the Jedi) has just arrived. Just looks like Billy D Williams. The Hasbro face paintings come along way since 1978. They don’t have people painting the faces anymore they use Matrix “Dot” printer for almost life like faces called Photo real.
It looks like Character Options still use people to paint the faces of figures in Factories. Although the CO Faces are good I think you’d agree their not up to Hasbro standards yet.
Theyve only been using this technology the last couple of years so you only see the difference on the newer Black Series figures. Some of the older human faces are still poor. Check out Jedi Temple Archives for some of the scalding reviews over the years. LOL.

      December 29th, 2021 - 11:46am

Ha! Yes the technology is lagging somewhat, but the character Options figures are mostly accurate. Occasionally not so much as in the cases of Romana 1 and some of those 4th doctor figures. Its a shame they have to resort to painting on the smaller items such as the Eaglemoss figurines. Imagine how cool they really would look if this were even possible. Some of those early Luke, Han and Leia figures left a lot to be desired but they have significantly improved as you say.

    • Coleman

      December 29th, 2021 - 12:32pm

Yes ergon, the Dot Matrix printer would work on the Eaglemoss faces. Hasbros just started using it on their 3.75 inch line and their about the same scale as Eaglemoss are.
Apparently the paint is applied by tiny dots too small for the eye to see. Originally Hasbro could only make it work for the larger 6 inch figures but with a bit of tweaking they say this technology will be ok for the 3.75 now
(I don’t know but it’s Probably too expensive for Eaglemoss).

just looking at what now look like obscure star wars figures. What is the blue elephant type creature on the big base? Is that from the 3:75 line? It looks like one of the instrument playing creatures from the cantina from New hope. I notice some of the more obscure droids from the Jawa droid salvage vehicle as well. Really impressed coleman.

Sounds like you mean Max Rebo. It’s was his band (Max Rebo band) from the begining of “Return of the Jedi” paying in jabba’s palace. (The blue Elephant type, playing the Ball organ).
Their was also Droopy Mc’cool (Flute) and Sy Snootles (Singer) and Oola, (dancer) LOL.
Some good characters in Star Wars over the years.

I,ll write those down in case they turn up in the 6 inch range coleman. I might work my way through all the star wars Saga sometime in the new year. I haven,t watched them in ages. The last was the last jedi. I always made it a thing to go see them in cinema. I remember seeing the Force awakens in 2015. Me and a friend went for the midnight preview showing. We had a few drinks before we went in and there were people dressed as jedis, the works. We were definitely underdressed. I remember when it ended there were cheers all around. There weren,t any Taxis either when we came out so we had a very long walk home but it was memorable for many reasons. I felt Hans death in that replaced obi wans from a New hope but it was great Harrison ford came back after so long away. Shame he never got to meet up with luke again. But the year after 2016 was any star wars fans annus horribilus when Carrie Fisher died. A real gutpunch it felt a close relative had died. Really felt for her daughter Billie Lourd who appeared alongside her mother in the last trilogy, for the last time.

Yes, sounds like you know affair abit about Star Wars ergon.
      (Long Story).
Along while ago I heard “rumours” that the Kenner/Hasbro background Aliens never sold too well, so now Hasbro is reluctant to make them in the 6 inch line. (Would explain alot).
Theyve literally only just made Admiral Ackbar, Bib Fortuna , Ponda Baba and Dr Evazan in 2021, yet the Black Series line started in 2013.
Anyway, hopefully they’ll sell well and give Hasbro abit more confidence to make more background Aliens.
I’d like The Max Rebo band in the Black series aswell, but so far they’ve only been made in the smaller scale.

i,m sure as long as star Wars is on small/ Big screen, new generations of fans will come through and seek out merchandise to collect. I think also it might have to do with the reluctance to sell as much plastic as it is to do with slower sales which is why figures arent made in the volume that they once were. I,m sure they will find a way around this and compromise. There are at least half a dozen or so releases next year so thats something.

just viewed the opening episode of The Book of Boba Fett coleman and the verdict is impressive. I expected no less from Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez and they certainly delivered and even broadened the star wars landscape with assorted new aliens, droids and potential new enemies as well as some old favourites. It also made clear what really happened to Boba after the events at sarlacc after his supposed ridiculous demise in Return of the Jedi and more than makes up for it. Exciting, funny and plenty of action and enough to wet my appetite for more. And also its funny you mentioned Max Reebo and his band because they made a welcome return in this episode. Now expect the figures. Excellent colemen. All this and the Doctor who special saturday. Its been a good week.

Glad you enjoyed it ergon, I should imagine I’ll lap it up aswell eventually, although Ill probably be TWO years behind you with the new stuff by the time it gets put on Video.
Unfortunately I couldn’t resist the Spoiler review on “Jedi Temple Archives” so I’ve a good idea what happened. They even showed some photos from the 1st episode.
My eyes nearly popped out when I saw the photo of Max Rebo and Figrin D’ Dan playing a slightly different version of the New Hope Cantina Tune.
(We were only on about them hours before). LOL.

I hope they reissue these new Aliens and max rebo with band under The Book of Boba fett series as they did with Mandalorian releases. That skeletal servant droid would make a good figure as well as new variations of those Gamorreans and Sandpeople. have you ordered your Mutt, Borad and Navarino yet coleman? They put 12th in dalek chair up but seems there was a mix up and is the weaponised Dalek instead.

I think Disney are protecting their shows people that subscribe and are not as freely available to buy. Netflix do the same with their big shows. i really wanted the boxsets of Stranger things but the last time i checked i couldn,t see it anyway. Those days of nipping to the local HMV when you had a date for favourites are now very few and far between especially the newer popular stuff.

No I havnt ordered anything from Eaglemoss in a couple of Months, been abit behind in collecting those recently with all the other stuff I buy. Hoping to catch up in the next few months.
Putting money aside at the moment for Dr Who Season 13 Steelbook and Harrops Troll doll both out in January aswell as the Zavvi Tom of course by Big Chief (also paying for their two Daleks), then onto the Eaglemoss stuff.
