September 3rd, 2022 - 8:52pmWould love to see Barbara to accompany Ian, maybe with Susan or Vicki, or maybe a Menoptra. Can’t wait
Nath
September 3rd, 2022 - 7:53pmClassic tardis play set, that articulated tenth doctor or the Jamie and yeti two pack probably won’t be any of those but we can dream
Mrs Croot
September 4th, 2022 - 10:11amUnfortunately al has said a classic Tardis playset isn’t likely, more honestly no, but RTD said he hated the master as a cover up, so we can hope. 🙂

September 3rd, 2022 - 7:44pmAs a pessimist I’m of the mind that I’m not that bothered if it’s a big disappointment. If it’s something fantastic then great it’s a win for me, but not a big let down if it’s not..
Doctor Stu
September 3rd, 2022 - 7:53pmIt’s depressing that we have to be like that. I remember the days when it was exciting news, brilliant figures, amazing releases. Now it’s just disappointment. Repaints, cobbled together stuff. The wheels came off when they tried to rebrand and launch the failures that were the 3.75” figures. Then the wheels never really got back on again. I miss the days of there being a huge market for Doctor who,
Now the shows a failure only watched by niche clingers on, seems the merchandise is being made for that audience too.

September 3rd, 2022 - 5:19pmDo you have any suspicions about what it may be, booboo, or are you not allowed to speculate?
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 5:43pmno clue at all, i have no contact with character direct so can speculate away along with everyone else! interesting choice of words though
“all friends and fans of the Character Options’ Doctor Who figures sets”
“advance warning of details of a very special product offer for Doctor Who fans”
“This is something you will want to be part of”
This is not the normal product announcement email…
noonewouldthinkofthis
September 3rd, 2022 - 7:27pmRadio controlled Bessie with third doctor figure.
Robert Watkins
September 3rd, 2022 - 11:06pmSpecial product, special weapons Dalek?
Luck4UNow
September 4th, 2022 - 8:03amThat phrase makes me think it is not just an new online exclusive for sale
“This is something you will want to be part of”
You are not “part of” a new product listed for sale; you just buy it.
Curiouser and curiouser…..
Mrs Croot
September 4th, 2022 - 10:14amFriends? Friends of the 13th doctor 3?! Can’t get enough varients of yaz graham and ryan.

Nah, if that was the case it would’ve said “all friends and fam of the Character Options’ Doctor Who figures sets”.
UK Whovian
September 3rd, 2022 - 3:11pmWell the Abominable Snowmen DVD/Blu-Ray is due Monday so it might very well be a 2nd Doctor, Yeti and Jamie 3 pack if the rumours that they are already done as moulds is true. It would be a nice tie-in…
Kier Haren
September 3rd, 2022 - 4:47pmFigures with DVD included I wonder?
Mark Belsom
September 3rd, 2022 - 5:06pmYes please, would we get that lucky though?
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 5:07pmwas said no variants of figures in the on-line exclusives which rules out another fur coat.
The Outcast
September 3rd, 2022 - 6:09pmThe Yeti that was prototyped was the Web of Fear version, not the Abominable Snowmen one. Additionally, it was never tooled, only sculpted, which is why we’ve never gotten it. To my knowledge, they’ve never prototyped a Jamie either. So massively unlikely.
Philip shaw
September 3rd, 2022 - 11:44amWould they be able to get a kick-start through Character for funding new animations?
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 11:46amdont think so, besides it says for “fans of the Character figure sets” in the email.
Fin
September 3rd, 2022 - 10:29amWhatever it is, I’m gonna buy it. Could be the last DW merch I’m able to get before the cost of living gets too much.
Alydon2007
September 3rd, 2022 - 9:10amPersonally, I’m only hoping for a DEATH TO THE DALEKS set with corrected paint job 🙂
Bobby Davros
September 3rd, 2022 - 8:57pmAlternatively you could just buy a black sharpie.
Alydon2007
September 5th, 2022 - 9:53amCool idea… free Sharpie with every set purchased… “Colour your own Dalek!” 😀
Michael
September 3rd, 2022 - 8:10amI think it’ll be an Abominable Snowman set. Think about it. We’ve already got the Troughton in the fur coat, there was a Jamie prototype figure many years ago.
Luck4Unow
September 3rd, 2022 - 10:36amMaybe it is a kickstarter for a Yeti or a Yeti and Jamie two-pack?
They need an up-front commitment for all the costly tooling and plastic that would go into making a Yeti figure (and for Jamie too, for that matter).
I can imagine most people around these parts would preorder multiple Yetis even at a premium price….
Steve
September 3rd, 2022 - 11:39amKickstarter for Emperor Dalek would be my preference if it is such a thing 🙂
Mrs Croot
September 3rd, 2022 - 12:15pmDidn’t al rule out the fur coat showing up again even beyond the five doctors set? Still a yeti and jamie would be superb.
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 12:18pmyes he did.
The Outcast
September 3rd, 2022 - 6:20pmI’ve never heard of a Jamie being prototyped, and I’ve heard of many prototypes.
I think people are over-expecting here – we’ve not had an entirely new figure in many years (the last was the Recon Dalek in 2019, and before that, it was probably the Missy figure in 2015), so expecting an Emperor Dalek or a Yeti and Jamie twin-pack is a bit excessive.
I think it’s more likely to be a crowdfunder for a singular figure, but perhaps a deluxe one, like a Jamie with a whole bunch of accessories, or a 2013 Cybermen with a whole bunch of swappable bits and bobs so you can make all the variants. Something much sought after to get people to spend money to fund it.
Granted, I don’t think any of these scenarios are entirely likely, it could well just be something about a sale, best keep our expectations low or only push the boundaries ever so slightly, so we’re not disappointed/only minorly disappointed rather than fumin’ that it wasn’t an announcement of a massive UNIT base playset with multiple floors, Bessie and the detached TARDIS console from Ambassadors of Death.
Andy
September 3rd, 2022 - 7:42amThe Sea Devils from Warriors of the Deep
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 7:53amAl Dewar ruled that out on a YouTube post
Bicky
September 3rd, 2022 - 6:34amMaybe they are releasing a new monthly series of figurines to take over where Eaglemoss left off!
Doug Who
September 3rd, 2022 - 10:47amThat would be absolutely fantastic Bicky however faint the possibility might be!
Douglas Quaid
September 3rd, 2022 - 12:08amHad been thinking about a Bessie/WHO1 with 3rd doctor from the daemons!
Scott
September 3rd, 2022 - 8:19amI’d faint with happiness if that happened lol
Anthony (Formerly) @ FP
September 4th, 2022 - 8:13amBessie can’t be merchandised sadly (we tried). The rights to that model of car don’t lie with the BBC.
Applicable Visit
September 2nd, 2022 - 11:33pmProbably just another obscure Classic set of either Daleks or some obscure monster.
Don’t really have any high hopes for these figures anymore.
AxC
September 3rd, 2022 - 10:11amFor a range of Doctor Who toys aimed at Doctor Who fans, are you sure ‘obscure’ is the right word?
Inconceivable.
Nick
September 2nd, 2022 - 10:58pmA yeti would be lovely…but I suspect it may be a special dalek release… Intriguing

September 2nd, 2022 - 10:44pmGrandma Connolly returns!??!!??

September 2nd, 2022 - 10:23pmBe great if it is a yeti

September 2nd, 2022 - 10:14pmA classic console room. I wish.
Shaun
September 2nd, 2022 - 10:11pmOh good! I’ve been waiting for a Spiridon three pack (without cloaks) for ages!
Mrs Croot
September 3rd, 2022 - 12:13pmI think they’re going to go much bigger than that, surely they’ll want to draw people in with something really big that has a lot of effort put in, so i’m thinking the monster from Vincent and the doctor. 🙂
Cardinal Hordriss
September 2nd, 2022 - 9:50pmA certain prop seen in certain leaked images from an upcoming special perhaps?
Jodie’s sonic with rotating crystal?
Emperor Dalek from Evil of the Daleks?
Chibnall voodoo doll?
Definitely curious…
MJS
September 3rd, 2022 - 8:17pmThe Jodie sonic with rotating crystal came out years ago
Slitheen92
September 2nd, 2022 - 9:49pmOoooo, can’t wait, so excited . Fingers crossed for a companion!!
daz
September 2nd, 2022 - 9:15pmHopefully it isn’t the Genesis Style dalek that they weren’t allowed to show on that podcast…
Intrigued though.
pupbenny
September 2nd, 2022 - 10:44pmWas that what that was? I guess that must be from the Genesis History Of The Daleks Set that’s presumably upcoming.
I noticed the Dalek with the redtop too. (I assume that was some kind of prototype or something?)
daz
September 3rd, 2022 - 12:29amApparently the red top one belongs to Al in his personal collection. He’s had it years so is not a prototype.
Bob James
September 2nd, 2022 - 8:58pmA Chris Chibnall 5.5″ scale figure?
Cardinal Hordriss
September 2nd, 2022 - 9:46pmOr voodoo doll.
Jaylee
September 2nd, 2022 - 8:20pmA limited run of the 18″ interactive Dalek would be superb, but I doubt it
Pusher
September 2nd, 2022 - 8:56pmIf it were, I’d love it if they made different ranks, like imperial guard, dalek X, fighter pilot, dalek inquisitor general etc. Not just the bog standard bronze
Bobby Davros
September 2nd, 2022 - 8:03pmDestroyed Cassandra reissue surely.
Luck4UNow
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:31pmSounds like a kickstarter-like project to me.
I’m in Al. Whatever the heck it is, I’m in
Callum Eales
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:23pmGotta be that pyrovile priestess three pack ane lazlo 3 pack.
Jamie
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:10pmVery interesting. Very interesting wording. Hmm. Not sure what to expect. A new set? An old set coming back? Hard to find B&M figures in a new set? We shall see.
Jamie
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:47pmJust remembered that time a few weeks ago when the CO site went down for about 2 weeks for maintenance and when it came back there was no visible changes. Getting things ready perhaps? I’m probably getting carried away.
Doctor Stu
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:43pmIt says offer though. So does that mean it’s something that already exists but it’s just being lowered in price?
Wouldn’t get your hopes up
booboo
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:47pmEmail:This is something I know you will want to be part of, suggesting its something moving forward that fandom would want to be involved in.
The ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:48pmI thought that initially but it might be a reduced priced exclusive.
MG
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:48pmMarketing speak – it’s a new product.
booboo
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:51pmhopefully but its not their normal “product news” email
The ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 6:56pm‘Be part of’? Could it be an exclusive that needs to be collected to build up to something in parts?
booboo
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:00pmAlmost suggests “kickstarter” type thing but perhaps more like Big Chief Launchpad maybe.
The ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:04pmAll new product. Now thats got me intrigued.
The ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:11pmMight be miniature big chief style figures or figurines? Please let it be so.
The ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 7:22pmIm thinking the’part of’ might relate to the 60th anniversary.
the ergon
September 2nd, 2022 - 8:47pmBy Kickstarter, could this mean the part of a crowdfunding venture to get more things made with enough preorders?
booboo
September 3rd, 2022 - 8:06amalways thought the BBC would be against kickstarters or crowdfunding, if whatever it was didn’t reach targets it might not look good, but then big chief did launchpad which is similar i suppose so you never know.
pupbenny
September 3rd, 2022 - 1:17pmOooooh, that’s interesting, I didn’t even consider about that it says ‘product offer’. Just assumed it was another exclusive. So, you guys are theorising that this could be like the crowdfunding things that Hasbro (I think) did with Star Wars products? They started like a thing where-by once a year or so they’ll come up with a ‘dream product’ that they believe fans would want and the say ‘if we get so-and-so amount of people pledging money to buy this product we’ll actually make it’.
Hmmmm, interesting.
The Outcast
September 3rd, 2022 - 2:59pmI think it being a kickstarter for something is a shout. I don’t think it’ll be anything insane, like a complete Console Room playset or something, probably just a full new tool figure (probably of a much wanted character – a Jamie or a proper Ainley Master perhaps?) or something along those lines.
Not that long to wait to find out.

September 2nd, 2022 - 6:42pmIs it even guaranteed to be Doctor Who related?

September 3rd, 2022 - 10:00amYou seem to have a severe season 17 fixation. Well it seems sea devils are ruled out so lets go with 18s foamasi. Ill take 3 of those. One wrapped in loft insulation.
