pc-300Character Options unveil Twelfth Doctor 3.75inch figure as Doctor Who range regenerates

Fans of Doctor Who have much to be excited about at present, with the successful return of the television series and a new Doctor to get to know. In addition, Character Options is delighted to unveil the much anticipated action figure for the newly regenerated Twelfth Doctor, as portrayed by Peter Capaldi.
A great gift for fans and collectors alike, this poseable range of 3.75 inch action figures include some iconic characters from the hit TV show.

The new assortment includes favourite characters from the past and present series, including the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth incarnation of the famous Time Lord, his fiery former companion Amy Pond and two versions of the Daleks; classic design and Asylum design (as seen in Asylum of the Daleks).

For collectors wishing to complete their line-up of Time Lords the Twelfth Doctor can be found in two guises; in his regenerated form as seen in the The Time of the Doctor and in his stylish new outfit which will become more familiar as Series 8 progresses; resplendent in black long-line jacket, waistcoat, trousers and boots.

This latest figure will be first of the Twelfth Doctor in his own unique style and is eagerly awaited by fans. In fact, the range is so highly anticipated that Character Options had to air freight more figures in order to meet demand. The figure promises to be one of the most successful to date…!

Selected figures are available in store now. Each figure costs just £6.99 and is presented on its own red Doctor Who Display base (excluding Dalek figures).

Please note this is a Press release.

I heard from a fellow who fan that Capaldi didn’t like the red lining figure which is why we will get the new version and why the red lining version wasn’t in wave 3. From what I understand the red lining figure will never appear.

I have been thinking about making my own doctor who toys lately and I am thinking of making a regeneration energy toy that attaches to the figures head and hands to make it look like it is regenerating

I am thinking of using those blue electric things that the silent figure comes with

what I would do is tamper with the plastic a bit to make it fit on to the figures hands then I would paint it orange

I say go for it. I’ve been doing the odd customizing with my Doctor Who figures and as of so far I’ve made a James Bond figure out of my Rassilon and Master figure and I’ve done a few variations with my vast collection of 10th Doctor figures. I’ve painted one of my 10th Doctor figures in gold as a send up to the 50th anniversary.

Well the thing that I’ve noticed with the 3.75″ line is the first figure they make of something is always a bit rubbish, so I think we can expect some improvements/variants in future 🙂

Wonder if they’ve coloured the inside red when you lift up the jacket ❓ would be a nice little extra but maybe too intricate…

I think that would be too tricky and easier for them not to do it, but I would love for it to be like that. Maybe in a future wave one will have the red lining showing like that Argos picture.

      September 10th, 2014 - 7:12am

To be honest I think if they don’t color the inside red, I might just do it myself. Votesaxon07 did it on his custom Capaldi, so I don’t think it’s too hard

Ok then. I like this figure but would much prefer the red lining one that’s the most I conic but I suppose this one is either from the episode Into the dalek or – future ep can’t think but I would love to see the purple shirt variant coming out as a well just another variant seeing as Matt had two to start off with. With a spoon accessories. Least we got it. Hope they do consider releasing the other though. I bought wave three and the well I was hoping to update my collection Booboo could you possibly give me the email? check my YoTube 🙂

Well I think one of two things will happen, Argos or the BBCShop will get stock in first and they’ll appear in stores or online in the BBCShop’s case. Of course if Argos gets them first we’ll only know that by them appearing on Ebay or someone on this site reporting having found one haha.

      Crucible Bronze Dalek
      12th. Doctor
      Imperial Dalek
50th. Day Of The Doctor Set

I hope they consider a regeneration set with 12th Doctor after regeneration and this one.
Really excited to get this though I felt it was a bit pretentious to have a whole paragraph about how they have to get more because it’s so popular and the ‘most successful figure to date’
Anyway, can’t wait to buy it! 😀

Or the regeneration set could have the 12th doctor regenerated and him in the pyjamas

    • Nobody in particular

      September 9th, 2014 - 4:07pm

That would be better, since we’ve already got him from straight after his regeneration. With 12 in pyjamas, it’d be similar to the crash set in 2010 😀

    • Trenzalore

      September 9th, 2014 - 4:11pm

Yeah I only said straight after regeneration because that figures already made. The pyjamas idea is much better.

I wish they used the hair and facial expression of this figure with the likeness of the ‘regenerated’ figure (since this looks nothing like Capaldi)
And the body should use the buttoned ‘red flash’ sculpt for the coat, which although ‘not natural’ is far more distinctive and interesting – not to mention eye – catching, which this certainly isn’t – than this figure

What we have is a figure of Steven Moffat in 20 years time, wearing some very bland, uninteresting clothing

Very dissapointing (but I’ll still pick it up)

The coat looks too short and it also looks too small…like the buttons would never reach the button holes…oh yeah, it doesn’t look anything like Peter Capaldi 🙂 I serious hope the real thing is better than this.
