Stocks Arrive – B&M August 2020 Sets Product Codes, Prices, Information

Stocks have now arrived

We have closed comments on all other B&M posts so they can be concentrated here.

UK Buyers – At the time of writing there is no longer a direct way of speaking to your store to check on availability. You could try the main customer service number. You can also scan in the bar codes below on the B&M app. This may help in some cases but may not be 100% accurate as to the exact situation on the shop floor. All sets in the UK are £19.99.

We strongly advise you make whatever checks you can yourself to check store availability before travelling.

To find your nearest store visit www.bmstores.co.uk. Please contact www.bmstores.co.uk if you require more information.

What’s the point of the barcode? Because whenever I use it all it says is ‘sorry we can’t check availability for this item, you’ll have to check in stores’?

Yeah I don’t understand how people can see the “good availability” thing. Could someone explain that?

    • booboo

      July 24th, 2020 - 10:31am

enter your location, scan the barcode then scroll down slightly to see a “check availability” button and it will come up with your nearest stores

problem with this app is that it does show stock yet to be put out (and possibly already sold not sure how quick it updates)

    • booboo

      July 24th, 2020 - 10:25am

i’ve put in my location and added some stores to favourite, but when i scan it says oop! we’re afraid we can’t check stock for this product.
but i tried in the search looking for some other stuff and they say the availability for them but it just seems to be the doctor who stuff it won’t let me check

My local B&M shows as having a ‘good availability’ this morning when last night it said they had none in stock. I feel like this might be the case for most places today, but for all I know it could just be the app messing me around. I’ll look this morning and update later on.

(Not willing to share the location of my B&M store as the last time I did this I lost all of my B&M sets to scalpers lmao)

      July 24th, 2020 - 9:39am

Yeah that’s true. I went and they had nothing in stock so it’s a bit hit and miss at the minute. They said they’ve got the sets but they most likely wont be going on the shelves until late Sunday early Monday. Either way they’ve taken my phone number and they’re going to call me once they’re in

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 10:06am

I think what the app means by “good availability” is that they’re in the store but not on the shelves.

Surely you could have just asked a staff member if they could look round the store room for you, Tom?

It definitely will not be (fellow Canadian here). You’re going to have to use ebay or that amazon store or else phone and ask someone you know in the UK to try. I don’t know for sure but the signs all point to it I’m afraid.

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 7:38am

If you REALLY want, try ordering from Sanity.com in Australia or ask anyone you know who lives there to try pick one up. Our dollar is doing pretty well compared to theirs, and they have cheaper shipping, you’ll save a bit compared to buying from the US. Not much, but I’m sure 5 dollars can go a long way!

    • The Tweetlord

      July 24th, 2020 - 10:37am

See, this is ridiculous, i shouldn’t have to buy internationally, can’t afford these sets if it’s going to continue on like that. I can’t fork out 400+ on these sets, it’s not worth it.

Now, these were supposed to be on the BBC Shop Website … what happened there?

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 3:11pm

I want to agree and I do sympathize, however, it’s just the way it is. I don’t think it ever was supposed to go to the BBC shop website, I think Booboo only listed it because when he got the info they were very vague about the “North American” store that would have them. That store has turned out to be the amazon one linked in the description. As I’ve said in other comments on other posts, the only reason I suspect that BBC Canada/America shops got the TARDIS and Recon Dalek is because they aren’t B&M exclusives and can be sold by any distributor. Hope that helps and stay positive! Having been around for the previous two of these, when the 8th Doctor and Dalek BF sets were released, and similarly with the 3rd Doctor TARDIS, just hang in there and don’t fall for ebay scalpers. We’ll definitely not be getting them on release and you may have to wait but they’ll be available for everyone eventually. Stay positive, even in these trying times!

    • booboo

      July 24th, 2020 - 3:16pm

BBC shop USA are supposed to be getting them but it all seems a bit Vague, Everyone assumed this North American store was Whona but we don’t know who is actually behind it.

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 5:50pm

I see, thanks for the clarification Booboo! I just don’t understand, if this is a B&M exclusive, how can bbc shop be getting it? It’s just very confusing… but I’m sure you’re just as confused as I am haha.

Last year I drove round 10 different B&M’s trying to find the figures on the day of release only for them to turn up at my local store a couple of weeks later.

So this year I’m just going to sit tight and wait for them to appear locally.

Happy hunting to all those going out and don’t forget your face masks!

Many of us do. Many have lost their jobs, can’t go outside or risk exposing our young children. We across the pond have to pay 2.5x price. I would hold off on the figures if you can. The price will definitely come down. The initial sellers on ebay are just looking to rip people off. They’ll be available soon, just like the other figures from last year. It’s pretty cool that we’re even getting these at all given the COVID-19 situation! Stay positive in these tough times! 😀

    • the ergon

      July 24th, 2020 - 12:54am

You have to wear a facemask before entering any stores as of today anyway, so it cuts that risk. If you insist in giving in and paying over the odds fair enough. A lot feel disheartened if they can,t get something straight away. Give it a week or so, or even sooner, depends where they stock and you,ll beable to pick some up fine.

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 3:36am

DON’T BUY THEM YET!!!! Stick the scalpers with them for a good few weeks/months, they’ll have to drop their prices just to move the stock… look at last years wave, half of it can be found on ebay for RRP last year, IF NOT UNDER… Wait it out and you’ll not be ripped off…

    • Anonymous

      July 24th, 2020 - 11:35am

To be fair there’s an eBay seller selling for £39 all in, which is the item plus travel to a local b&m for me. This person would also have fees to pay themselves . The only dodgy bit per say is last night their listing showed as 2 available..I bought one and suddenly they have 3 . Unless they’re doing a pre order type thing in which case they need to specify this is the case

    Hi people.

Consett and Gateshead are in the North East of England just for those who aren’t sure.

I live in Gateshead so popped to the Metro Centre one and got the two sets they had on shelves. So Got Tardis and 4th Doctor Set.

They weren’t able to check stockroom as at 7pm only 2 staff in. 1 on floor and 1 on the till.

There were 4 Tardis and 4 4th Sets left when I got mine.

None in Team Valley store although they still have Peladon Tardis and 7th Doctor BF sets.

    Good Luck.

Judging by how the sets (at this point in time) are mainly being found in the north west of England(Gateshead etc) , I think Scotland may get sets on Saturday or (at the latest) the middle of next week. It just depends on the delivery times of your store (I remember last year how all the sets popped up at my local store on a Friday afternoon, which is why I’m heading to my store during tomorrow afternoon)

the app is intended as a price checker for goods in-store and to use Product codes (which probably wont work for some time ) you need to scan them from a screen or someone else’s phone

yes Anonymous i am for real. got through to main store through CS and the woman in store did indeed say that once the stock is instore and scanned and up on the shelves she would put them aside. That was yesterday. However its been a bugger since trying to get through. Only once did i get transferred to main store today and there was no answer but that could have been because it was their busiest time. When i tried again several times, someone else on CS just kept putting me through to their 0300 number with just the two options. I will persevere and give it my best shot tomorrow to see if i can get same person or shop Floor manager. Iwas as surprised myself when i actually got through but she was very helpful and communicative and did get all my stuff fdrom the same store last year.

    • Voldermort

      July 23rd, 2020 - 10:10pm

Tbh some of the Ebay listings are pretty fair. There was a few that were priced at £34.99 inc postage which in reality isn’t too bad at all, profit wise it going to be less than £7. If you think of the cost of driving to the B&M stores every week trying to search for these sets, its probably more beneficial to some buyers to just purchase on Ebay and save all the bother.

It’s more environmentally friendly too to just purchase online than driving miles to different B&M stores.
