At the moment there is no point in asking if a store or area has stock because no one can check.

I was speaking to the manager of my local store (in the north of England) on Friday. He told me he’d tried to get a restock of the latest wave. Unfortunately the figures have all been distributed and as such, what they have is all they can get and none remain as warehouse inventory.

Make of it what you will, but another forum is today citing a message on Twitter posted by B&M stating that all stock for the wave has been distributed and that there is no more to follow.

Would support the assertion that it’s lack of inventory (although the numbers are reportedly that same as previous waves)/greater store demand rather than distribution logistics, the latter would have rectified itself a month after the release.

Just been to the B&M stores at Haymarket and Belgrave Gate, nothing’s changed.

Long story short, I spoke to an assistant at the Belgrave store and he had a scanner on him. ‘Asked to enter the product code and it read that the 8 October Dalek sets have been triggered but, don’t know when they’ll arrive. However, another assistant (who was the one who spoke to me on the phone a couple of weeks ago) said that they’re never ever going to get stock. That includes B&M stores in both, Leicester and Leicestershire. Don’t know what on earth is going on but, I’ve given up searching them. If anyone wants to raise a complaint against B&M then, go ahead. I, on the other hand, am going to focus on more important things. If anyone does go to the B&M stores in both, Leicester or Leicestershire, please let me know if you see the new figures are hitting shelves. Many thanks and apologies if I sounded aggressive, rude or uncaring.

Went to Crawley retail park today.
They have loads of the old sets Friends and Foes and Claws of Axos. They also have 3 Dalek set 1.
It looks as though they were really overstocked on these sets.

Interesting isn’t it… I went into that store last Sunday, and they’d very obviously had a delivery of history of the Daleks 1 & 2 sets.
Hopefully either, or both the Crawley stores will get the new sets soon, it costs me about £20 on bus and train fares everytime I go, and I must have been about 10 times by now.

    • Spacewarp

      October 24th, 2020 - 3:52pm

It’s not just Crawley. I’ve just got back from Ilkeston, Derby, where I’ve finally managed to pick up a History of the Daleks Set#1 (they had 2 visible). I think that booboo was right about the 2nd wave treading on the delayed 1st wave’s toes. They obviously pulled the earlier stock back to make room for the later, and now things have quietened down they’re putting it all our regardless.

Ilkeston also have two new Davison TARDISes, and plenty of the 2nd Wave Companions and UNIT sets.

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone remember mention of a forthcoming Character figure of the Lone Cyberman? This would have been way back at the beginning of this year. Just a rumour, or a prototype that never got any further? Or did I just dream it?

Oh and I think I know why there are so many of those Big Finish Doctor/Dalek sets still around. The sucker arms are all bent.

    They only had:
    – the 3 three-figure packs from earlier this year
    – a few 13th Doctor sonic screwdrivers (which I haven’t seen in a while)

The Stowmarket branch still doesn’t have any of the 3-figure sets, or the Visitation Tardis set, and I bought it’s final HOTD #3 set (all of the HOTD #4 sets had already sold out). So now I’m 1 new set up at least (though I want to acquire a second HOTD #3 so as to have 2 normal daleks and the 2 borrowed movie props to go with the Jungles Of Mechanus pair).

To be honest i always felt it was a grey area in lockdown, Toy shops had to shut, But B&M and supermarkets could carry on selling toys as they could stay open for “essential” goods, it didn’t seem fair somehow.

    • Coleman

      October 23rd, 2020 - 12:51pm

How I read it BooBoo, Supermarkets and B&M, could sell toys but only if in stock. They couldn’t transport toys anymore only essential items.

    • booboo

      October 23rd, 2020 - 1:09pm

I’m reading they should Corden off the parts of the stores selling non essentials, although the definition of whats essential seems open to interpretation.

    • Coleman

      October 23rd, 2020 - 2:27pm

Just meant the original lockdown BooBoo, when you said toy shops had to close and it was unfair because supermarkets and B&M could still sell them.

What is the likely hood off them arriving in the next two weeks anyway, this will at least give us (in wales) a break from searching.

and maybe they do arrive within the next two weeks and held off from the shelves until after the lockdown, it’ll be a nice welcome for when we come out.

So after getting to Bolton B&M I find they have everything in except for the Companions of the Third & Fourth Doctor in, so I picked up the UNIT Zygons set, 2 of History of the Daleks 3 and 1 of History of the Daleks 4. They still have plenty of everything, and they still have the first version of the Thirteenth set and the Fourth Companions and I think the Troughton TARDIS next to the Davison TARDIS at the bottom. I was very tempted by the Davison TARDIS but decided against for now.
