B&M 2023 The History of the Daleks #16/17 Gold and Black Daleks

The History of the Daleks #16/17 Product Code 402029 In-store Price £21.99.

B&M no longer sell online. You can search for this item on www.ebay.co.uk

This set contains:

  • Black Dalek Sec
  • Time War survivor Dalek

Featuring one Time War survivor Dalek and one Black Dalek, these Daleks herald back to the start of the New Series in 2005. During 2004 the props department were challenged with coming up with a new Dalek design for the series. The feeling of those involved was that the Dalek needed updating to a more modern look.

In the story ‘Dalek’ one surviving Dalek is kept in an underground bunker, the pet plaything of a multi billionaire who collects alien junk. When it finally regenerates, we find out exactly how deadly one lone Dalek can be.

Black Dalek Sec is one of a set of four Daleks to emerge from a Dimension Ship on Earth in the Torchwood research facility. These survivors of the Time War have hidden in the spaces between dimensions awaiting the moment to emerge once more. Upon their arrival, all hell breaks loose as the Daleks and Cybermen rally for an all-out war.

These have arrived at Anglia Retail Park Ipswich!! Mercifully the first branch I checked; saving me repeated marathons across 5 stores from Ipswich to Colchester!!!

Hi how does everyone keep track of this kind of thing? I see maps mentioned but can’t seem to find the maps? Had to go to eBay scalpers for this one unfortunately.

Also where do we find out news about new releases?
      Thanks

Would love to see a destroyed Dalek and Dalek Trooper figure for Resurrection.

I’m more hoping for a supreme with white spheres and Molloy Davros, similar to the ‘Creation of the Daleks set’.

Do you think the next new series Dalek set will feature the Dalek thay and maybe Caan or Jast? If it skips straight to the series 4 finale in just 2 sets that would be fairly poor

Would be easy to do a Daleks In Manhatten set. A generic bronze dalek and one of the peg filler Pig Man Lazlo figures, sorted!

Could even do 2 generic bronze and pass them off at Jast and Caan, I’m fairly sure the Daleks in Manhattan set itself came with an actual pig slave so there’s a re release there , although I think not doing the genesis ark and Daleks re release is a missed opportunity, they already have the sculpt for newer Daleks

Because that’s what it is, 2 different episodes

it’s still weird though. it’s not two sets of daleks it’s one. the number is for the set, not the episode, otherwise it should be 16/18 since bad wolf was skipped. basically it makes no sense either way lol

Makes sense: this set represents 2 stories, prior sets each represented 1. And with Resurrection being skipped for time being, story order no longer applies.

Resurrection will probably be #19. What the hell is going on?

The set numbers aren’t necessarily in order.
It makes sense being two sets of one dalek in one package but does feel like a cop out.
Understandably, Dalek would only have one dalek in and maybe it’s not possible to have the mutant reveal with the new mold. What else could they have done? Ninth Doctor in green jumper?

Doomsday set could have had one of the other cult members with Sec, and a future Evolution otD set could have had damaged Thay (if possible) and the other one.

Personally if I was forced to use the numbers I’d just go by series instead of individual story. Two sets for series 1, two for series 2 etc.
