I know. I’ve been seeing them in there at that price for months now. It really surprised me, I thought this set would go out of stock very quickly. But they’re not even reaching much over £20 on ebay now. I wonder if any US fans are still after them.

Lots of these in B&M Dumbarton, and also saw some in B&M Port Glasgow. Otherwise plenty of Earthshock and Marinus sets still left.

After trawling all my local B&M’s to find all the new sets gone I looked on ebay. Ive provided links to the seller who’s selling both the Robot set for £29.99 & the Five Doctors set at £32.99 They’re the cheapest I could find online & they offer free p&p. I hope this helps as I know the frustration of checking every B&M to find nothing.

About 8 sets in the Rock retail park, Birkenhead at the weekend. About the same in Ellesmere Port. Nothing in Bromborough yet, though. I’ll be skipping this as I still have the original multibuild and can’t really justify having 2 of ’em.

Can’t believe the amount of scalping that still goes on. But luckily there are people in groups that help each other out and sell at cost price with only the postage on top. Happy days. For example people were buying from feebay WOTD sets for £60 while the set is still available from the CO website for £30….

Not a bad day today…..had a delivery from Character earlier this morning containing the Warriors of the Deep set, then later in the afternoon managed, thanks to a Ebay seller, as my local B&Ms have for once let me down currently, to get another delivery of a 4th Doctor/K1 Robot set at a great price…. both fantastic looking pieces.

For buyers looking for this North America, like myself, WhoNA has listed just under 160 sets in stock.

Typo: that should have said “for this in North America,” of course.

Currently, WhoNA has just over 140 in stock.

i wonder how they get them

    • David Minter

      February 28th, 2022 - 2:28am

I hate to say this without remembering the details, but I did ask them that once. Unfortunately, I forget what they told me. I believe the gist was they basically order in bulk from the warehouses. But, don’t quote me on that as I don’t remember, sorry.

I am curious to how they are allotted orders. For instance, the last 2 Dalek sets they had like 20 of those. But, the Earthshock set they had over 100. And this Robot set had the most in stock I can remember of any B&M releases.

    • booboo

      February 28th, 2022 - 9:25am

Interesting that B&M will bulk sell to other retailers then even if overseas.

      March 2nd, 2022 - 2:52pm

And, I may be wrong about that. Maybe I’ll just ask again and see if I can get a response.

      March 2nd, 2022 - 3:28pm

      Got a reply from WhoNA:

“We pay someone in the UK to work with B&M on our behalf.”

What that exactly entails, I don’t know. So, apparently they’re working indirectly through B&M to get that much stock.

    • booboo

      March 2nd, 2022 - 3:35pm

So B&M and will allow people to buy pre arranged multiple stocks then, but i expect at their normal retail.

      March 5th, 2022 - 2:43am

WhoNA seems to have vastly improved its stocking capability. Previously, they would get 1 lot, maybe 2, of 10 or 20 of each set as it was released. Starting towards the end of last year with the B&M exclusives, they’d get in many, sometimes over the 100 mark. And the Robot set, they had over 150.

Why didn’t you just pay £30 on eBay. £40 taxi fare plus £20 for the set ?

    • Richard

      February 25th, 2022 - 4:33pm

Set is now available on eBay for £29.95 including delivery. Maybe worthwhile for anyone still to find the set but doesn’t want to waste more time and money trawling branches which may have no stock left (or any to begin with). http://www.ebay.co.uk

      March 4th, 2022 - 11:52am

no one should have to pay more than £20 for a NEW set. I see lots of mention of sellers on Feebay etc which yeah great if you dont mind paying £40 plus for one set. Im in a group on FB where people buy sets for others that cant find them and sell them on for cost price with only the postage on top. Job done. Easy.

No ROBOT sets in Northampton now, but B&M Weedon Road has plenty of Earthshock sets available (one of which I now own at last). Hopefully this means the previous wave will see a countrywide restocking, much like with the Marinus and Sensorite sets!
