This figurine set is inspired by Season 9, Episode 2, first broadcast in September 2015.

On Skaro the Twelfth Doctor confronts a dying Davros who is using living Daleks as life-support. Can the Doctor intercept Davros’ evil plan before it is too late?

The set comprises of the Twelfth Doctor and Davros figures and recognises the face-to-face moment when Davros and the Doctor lock horns.

Speaking of the new release, Al Dewar, Creative Director said: “This year has seen a cascade of new sets for collectors and fans and these latest two sets are favourites of mine because they represent unique moments in Doctor Who that many fans including myself remember… wonderful stuff!’

Not wanting to sound negative, because I understand why BooBoo doesn’t like the negativety.
But when you look at all the quality stuff we’ve been getting from CO for years now, these new sets included. when I look at the Dapol stuff you have to admit it was pretty bad.

I dont think many would dispute that, different world back then but i still collect it all.

Yes, I remember Dapol being in the shops when it was 1st produced and thought it looked great.
      (How times change).

I can still remember the first Dalek Dapol released. It did not have moveable sucker stick or gun arms. They just stuck straight out. Dapol did correct this on subsequent Dalek releases with ball and socket joints.

Then, of course, was the initial Davros release with 2 hands…

I loved the Dapol stuff when I got them in 1989.
They were sat in my loft for years though as didn’t want to display them next to the CO stuff.

Recently sold them on eBay. Just 25th Anniversary set to shift.

Decided that if they are not on display there’s no point hording them after 30 years.

      Yes David,
Don’t think Dapol was ever known for their accuracy. Wonder if they ever looked at photos for reference?

      October 28th, 2020 - 10:55am

Didn’t they do the console with the wrong amount of sides also?

    • David Minter

      October 28th, 2020 - 4:46pm

      Coleman

I believe you are right about the TARDIS console with the incorrect number of sides. I never had a TARDIS console, just the TARDIS exterior.

Dapol was also, let’s just say, “creative” in their Dalek coloring schemes. I still have in my collection the USA Dalek and the Christmas Dalek. Then there were the Millennium Daleks with all kinds of weird colors and little sparkling bits in the plastic.

Do we actually know that this is a B&M exclusive? Because the release of two random sets about a month after releasing some repainted sets in the exact same store seems a little odd to me…

Argh I wish they’d given Davros his more orange skin tone from the episode and weathered the chair slightly.

Tbh if you get this set you’re only getting it for repainted Doctor if you’ve already got the stolen earth Davros. It’s a shame there’s absolutely no changes at all to Davros

Just so everyone knows the B&M app still picks up stock if not location and this and the Ace set are on the system which means they are due very soon

we dont know exactly it just says Ace and Dalek

    • Coleman

Didn’t it mention something about Ace with (bazzooka) originally or something like that.
If so it’ll be Ace and a destroyed imperial Dalek I bet.

I was really hoping Davros would have eyes painted on just a cool feature, but it’s still nice to see these two figures collected together.

I hate to raise the point, but aren’t Character Options/B&M jumping the gun a bit with the Remembrance and Witch’s Familiar sets? I mean they still haven’t addressed/rectified the issue with distribution for the October wave! (To a majority of their stores). So who knows when the areas void of stock will get these two sets 🙁 . The scalpers are going to have a field day…
Look on the bright side though, maybe by then, CO’s will have issued a corrected box?

Looks like Davros is missing the printing on his eye, very strange. The paint aps are great except the head, it’s one solid colour. Might just be that one figure, as the one in the box looks ok, but will only get this if they keep the standards of the series 4 release.

A new variant of the 12th Doctor makes me very happy, and new series Davros hasn’t been rereleased for a long time so this set makes sense.

The old, frail, bent head Davros of the episode would have been ideal but we all knew it was never going to happen but I was expecting at the very, very least a bit of weathering or age

I’d have put this on the B&M thread but it’s temporarily disabled. Disappointed with this set for one reason only (availability).
I’m in the South Yorkshire area and were in full lockdown for the next month at least, so not sure wi’ll be getting this one.

You are not in Lockdown, only Wales is! You are on Tier 3 restrictions the same as me and I can go to B&M.

    • Tibbles

      October 27th, 2020 - 3:22pm

I’m also in South Yorkshire, the tiering restrictions are different to Wales. We’re in Tier 3 but non-essential retail is open. But back when we went into a full lockdown B&M was still fully trading as they’re a food vendor, and I managed to pick up a couple of sets back then while it was quiet.
Also pointer, the large B&M near Parkgate in Rotherham is v good for stocking the sets 🙂

    • Coleman

      October 27th, 2020 - 3:46pm

      John,
Not once in my thread did I say B&M wouldn’t be open. Just wondering if they’ll be able to transport toys to there shops.
Or do you consider toys as essentials?
I know even in full lockdown B&M will be open because they sell food.

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2020 - 4:51pm

B&M can transport anything they want to, there are no retail restrictions where you are at the moment even at tier 3.

Only Wales has rules for non essential purchases.

“Well, this is new”-11th Doctor I’m kinda hesitant to buy this to be honest…. I haven’t even bought the October sets, still. Has there been any updates from B&M regarding the distribution to the areas void of stock, booboo?

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2020 - 2:09pm

      nothing

There is a post on twitter that says a B&M toy manager told someone that all the stock had been sent to a northern distribution centre and sent to shops from there as a new southern one wasn’t ready.

What that means for the south ever getting these i dont know.

    • Doctorus

      October 27th, 2020 - 5:07pm

I’ve a feeling that the areas which are void of stock will receive them in January, February. Even though, they’re *October* sets.

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2020 - 5:15pm

It really depends on if all the stock was sent to stores or some of it is stacked in a warehouse somewhere

B&M are in the habit of selling stock of rather than redistribute it to stores and areas that never had them.

Can confirm having the set in hand, that the only real difference I can see between the original 2008 Davros and this new one is that the new one has a more shiny silver. Still, good for those who don’t have it, or people whose’s 2008 Davros figure is very battered and bruised (like mine is).
