This wave of Dalek sets has finally arrived at my local B&M, spotted when I was checking for the imminent-to-be-released 2020 sets. I had been checking all year (my B&M hasn’t stocked anything since the 1970s set) so was pleasantly surprised. I immediately nabbed one set (no prices on the shelf but alas is still full price). Unpacked, the Axis Strike Squad Dalek looks very handsome; if no new sets appear next week, I’ll grab the Interrogator Prime set as a consolation prize.

Though I didn’t see it directly (Didn’t want to touch it as I didn’t have rubber gloves and I wanna be a bit cautious), there may be one of these at the B&M in Hulme (Manchester) as I saw all but this one there but it seemed like there was more behind the ones I could see.

Did they have any of the other sets from last year?

I just got mine yesterday. Brilliant set. It was at the B&M in Farlington-they had a few more doctor+daleks and loads of TARDIS sets.

Has it been mentioned that the 7th Doctor, indeed NO Doctor ever appeared in the Gallifrey VI story. Such a weird release. Even the blurb is fabricated to make the set work.

Really wish they had changed the trousers on the Seventh Doctpr, that checked pattern is horrible. Plain grey would have made it look so much better.

It says the first of many rereleases- does that mean there will be more later in the year? And if so, what’s the source?

It doesn’t say many rereleases it says many releases. There is more new stuff coming later this year. And the source is Character Options, that is an official press release.

Three new 3 packs, apparently (one of them likely to be the Ryan and Yaz set). Not sure if we should mention him by name, so let’s not- but somebody definitely in the know suggested April for the Ryan and Yaz set. (No mention of the other sets at the time, but it’s likely all three sets will release at the same time.) That was before the latest virus situation, though, so producing and transporting items from China could obviously have created a delay there. If you need to save your money for those three packs, though, especially after all the 13th Doctor releases, you might not have much time. (Also some talk of another TARDIS set, though only rumoured.)

one of the sets is definitely a 13th Doctor set with Ryan and Yaz and an unknown 3rd figure, the other 2 are likely to be more “classic based”

At this stage though i think any dates may prove to be very unreliable.

Yeah, I’m sure you’re right as ever, Booboo. It’ll be exciting to see those packs whenever, anyway. I’ve a feeling there’s things that I’ll be happy to see and I’m pleased with Ryan and Yaz.

The Dalek probably won’t look as good as the original Axis Strike release as that one was perfection. This will be the first time I will have the chance to get the hatted grinning Seventh Doctor (all of the five previous releases of the Seventh Doctor I got in sets over the years have the neutral version), so I’m keen on this one.
Who am I kidding, I won’t be able to resist any these new sets, and will be walking to my local B&M each lunchtime this week.

I really wish they had not changed the dalek. It is now less accurate to the box art, and more distinguishable from regular Daleks, which is a bad or good thing depending on your opinion.

Same as last year just added a hat! Don’t think it’s enough for me to get this or get stressed going to various stores trying to find these!

I picked up the original version of this set fairly recently. I wouldn’t mind getting this variation as well with the semi-TV Movie Doctor wearing his hat.

They look like slight variations of the last run
7 – The gold on the Dalek has been replaced with Silver
      8 – Now a more vibrant blue
War – Silver has been replaced with silvery blue
