Due for release in May 2021, Doctor Who – The Ninth Doctor Adventures: Ravagers features three tales written by Big Finish’s Creative Director, Nicholas Briggs, and sees the Doctor on a voyage of discovery once more with new friends and adventures.
Alongside the previously-announced Camilla Beeput as Nova and Jayne McKenna as Audrey, this full-cast audio drama box set also teams Christopher Eccleston up with Jamie Parker (Callan, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child) as Captain Halloran, Dan Starkey (The Paternoster Gang, Jago & Litefoot & Strax) as Marcus Aurelius Gallius, Ben Lee (Holmes & Watson) as Lieutenant Farraday, and Clare Corbett (Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter) as the terrifying Ravagers.
On the Sphere of Freedom, the Doctor is about to shut down an evil Immersive Games business empire. He’s assisted by a valiant galley chef called Nova. But his plan spectacularly fails…
Now, the Doctor must fight back to discover what could have caused everything to go so badly wrong. His journey takes him via Piccadilly Circus in 1959, Belgium 1815 and far flung future worlds where machine intelligences regard sentient life as mere biofuel.
Where does the mysterious old-timer Audrey fit in? Is the alien beverage Charganzi safe to drink? And is there really anything the Doctor can do to stop the entire universe from being devoured?
The three terrific tales are as follows:
Sphere of Freedom
On the Sphere of Freedom, the Doctor is about to shut down an evil Immersive Games business empire. He’s assisted by a valiant galley chef called Nova. But his plan spectacularly fails… And who exactly is Audrey?
Cataclysm
Nova is dislocated in time while the Time Eddies are out of control. Meanwhile, the Doctor is about to face the end of the universe. Or is that just the Battle of Waterloo?
Food Fight
The TARDIS is starting to get a little crowded! Audrey finds herself haunted by a ghostly Doctor.
Christopher Eccleston said; “It was lovely coming back to play the role again, due to Nicholas’s writing. I was surprised at how very quickly I seemed to recall the choices I made fifteen years ago. It was an odd experience; the Ninth Doctor’s still hanging around.”
Nicholas Briggs added: “It’s been an honour working with Chris again –it’s truly thrilling to hear him in studio, inhabiting the Ninth Doctor like he’d never been away! Writing and directing Doctor Who stories never gets old for me, and I’m so excited for people to hear what we’ve been up to.“It’s been a delight to kick off The Ninth Doctor Adventures series with Chris, and I know that my fellow writers and directors are cooking up some great stuff for the next box set.”
Doctor Who fans worldwide can now pre-order all four volumes of The Ninth Doctor Adventures, which are available in three formats – collector’s edition CD, digital download or limited edition gatefold triple LP vinyl – exclusively from the Big Finish website.

March 5th, 2021 - 8:34pmNice as it would be for the Ninth Doctor to meet a Master, wouldn’t that stop him being surprised in Utopia? Unless they use the old Big Finish trope of wiping his memory at the end of the story of course.

March 6th, 2021 - 11:26amOr they can specify its a pre-time war master who the doctor has just happened to bump into. Maybe play on the fact that 9 sees his friend/rival ‘die’ in the future, have him grateful to see the master in but nostalgic and sad because he must once again stop his plan.
Doctor Mysterio
January 11th, 2021 - 1:22pmHe’s back! And it’s about time. Big Finish have worked wonders here – thanks to Mr Briggs especially for keep flying the flag – and welcome back to Chris. Let’s hope for lots more adventures for Nine!

January 10th, 2021 - 6:54pmThere are 4 volumes initially, I so hope that at least one of them would get Billie back. It seems unlikely but I can hope

March 6th, 2021 - 2:12pmShe has already recorded her own spin off series as well as recording with DT in the 10th Doctor Adventures so no reason why she can come back. Only problem with Billie now is her voice is completely different. It seems she us unable to replicate that South London accent now. When she did the 10th Doctor adventures she sounded too posh.

January 9th, 2021 - 9:28pmI reckon it’s set between The Doctor leaving Rose and Mickey in the alley, before coming back for Rose.
BeeptheMeep
January 9th, 2021 - 9:54pmNah, it’ll just be before Series 1
Doctor Stu
January 10th, 2021 - 12:33amYeh it’s got to be before series 1. That alley scene is basically two halves of a sentence. Him coming back to say ‘oh and by the way it travels in time as well’ it wouldn’t make sense if there was a big gap of adventures in between
MJS
January 10th, 2021 - 1:47pmOr…..some adventures with one off companions makes him realise he could do with a regular one a d goes back to when he left Rose “oh by the way…..”

January 10th, 2021 - 2:10pmYes MJS
George
August 12th, 2020 - 1:44pmIt kind of takes the excitement out of it by declaring that there are going to be four series, before the first one has been released.

August 13th, 2020 - 8:06amNo it shows that it isnt just a one of boxset, it does the complete opposite and makes it more exciting

January 9th, 2021 - 9:16pmHow does more make you less excited? And They do 4 sets lots

January 9th, 2021 - 10:04pmAnd it could possibly be extended like the war master, the robots and presumably time war sets were.

January 10th, 2021 - 12:39amBut we knew that
