If you remember the Sixties, they say, then you can’t have been there.

The Doctor remembers the Sixties. That’s why he’s taking Nyssa on a trip back to November 1963. Back to where it all began. Back to the birth of the biggest band in the history of British music. Back to see those cheeky lads from Liverpool…

Mark, James and Korky. The Common Men. The boys who made the Sixties swing with songs like Oh, Won’t You Please Love Me?, Just Count To Three and Who Is That Man.

The Doctor remembers the Sixties. And there’s something very wrong with the Sixties, if the Beatles no longer exist…

do not uderstand why these big finish LP/s cant be amazon on line exclusives as they have done in the past it is one big gimmick treating fans with contempt please think about the future releases being posponed for at least until january as a lot of fans including myself are going to be still in lockdown the pandemic is getting worse and cardiff my capital is about to into lock down MICHAEL PARSONS

its nothing to do with big finish. demon records have licensed stories from big finish to sell only in asda’s your complaint is with demon records.

Other stores have done exclusive releases. Hmv, sainsbury’s, Amazon etc.I don’t see what the difference is with asda going them.

i am very aware of big finish i am a regular customer and i have no issues with them but as regards to exclusive vinyls are concerned sainsburys and asda are super markets food is the first thing that comes into mind h m v i thought had a very long history of selling cd/s cassettes mini discs records but i might be from another world i have to check my d n a once again so called customers as cattle chasing and spending money in my case on a tight buget

      Mr Parsons,

As “one of the cattle”, I would like to remind you that Big finish is….A BUSINESS.

Yes it is a business run by fans of all things WHO but at the end of the day all they truly want is your money(with customer story enjoyment a close 2nd). Guess what – so does HMV and so does your local butcher. The 1963 Fanfare For the Common Men is a 7 year old story that has been available on download and CD. Both have been part of numerous sales so to accuse BF of contempt is very disrespectful.

Big Finish is not a huge goldmine business and frankly everyone should be grateful that they weren’t a victim of the COVID recession. They NEED money to continue working. They have announced and released plenty during lockdown so personally i think people should think themselves lucky for all the content they can get.

Its sad if you cant get to a copy but at the end of the day there is only 1000 available, when I attended Big Finish day last year, I would wager there was at least 500 people there, assuming ALL OF THEM got on the hunt this leaves 450 (50 supplied to internal staff/actors as is standard in ALL releases).

Exclusive licensed products to retailers like asda not only generates income to BF, but it also gets backsides in store to hopefully do some shopping in a store they wouldn’t attend – BUSINESS HELPING BUSINESS is what we all should be supporting right now.

at the eleventh hour i could not risk my health or my parents and risk a 60.00 fine but i am very bitter about the way they are putting these items out i have checked e bay and some of the comments above are correct 55.00 and these people are not doctor who fans or they would not put them on e bay i have e mailed demon music about my predicament being in a lock down arear and told them about these exploited prices i am a big fan but no one is going to exploit me for more than double the price demon music have e mailed me and i might be able to get a copy direct from them the same problem is going to ocur in november with the othe one i live in gwent and very unlikely that my arear is going to be lifted before november michael parsons

Cardiff council’s lockdown FAQ shows you can still do shopping. Or ask a friend/family to get it for you. These deals were signed before local lockdowns went into place so the poor shops are not to blame.

Should imagine if there not on the list, they won’t be stocking the Lps. The only ones that sell Vinyl will be the listed shops.
I know from experience all Asdas don’t have music sections.

A lot of unscrupulous people are selling this on eBay for £50 or more!
You can actually buy it on Asda online using the search term Vinyl. Just paid about £5 extra for home delivery which is far cheaper than the eBay prices.

Have you tried booking a delivery slot for later in the week or collection later in the week because you can book a slot for collection or delivery, there is a surcharge for collection orders under £25.00 or delivery under £40.00 it is £3.00 maybe worth a try

Could it possibly be because of my postcode as no local Asda stores near me have them in stock.

    • Timelord63

      September 25th, 2020 - 10:25pm

That’s what I did – booked a delivery slot for next Tuesday. Paid £2.50 for delivery slot and extra £3 because it was under £40.

      September 26th, 2020 - 12:50pm

I’ve had a further look into it and you can only get it delivered to you if it is in stock near a store to you. I can always collect it but I would have to travel an 1+ to get it. I’m not too bothered, I just know its going to be a lot of stress to get the time lord victorious vinyl in November, I might just have to pay double the price.

Thanks for the tip….sadly I tried this option but looks like the copies need to be held at your local store.

Sadly York isnt on the list so although I could see it as available when I searched vinyl when I logged into placing an order it didn’t give me an option to buy.

Also Durham is on the availability list but the Store claim they didn’t get any !

seems Qeensferry was being nice. lots of stories abound of people swooping all stock. one said, he was literally behind a man, who walked to the record shelf and just picked them all up (8) ,he asked, and was told to **** *** . very sad. and with the ltd nature very collectable, with a new range, I wounder why its only 1000.

beautiful inner sleeve work. simply stunning what they have done. hope those who get one dont get missed out on the next one.or stung on Ebay, for either. Heart goes out to those shielding/lockdown.

if someone had said even, 2 years ago,we would have 5 lps in 4 months ( Massacre*,Marco polo, Common men, Minds of the magnox, Echoes of Extinction),I wouldnt have believed you. WOW.

    * I know Massacre should have been sooner in the year.

Queensferry store had them in, but they are not on shelf as of 10.30. Although I did worry maybe they had all been sold. Asked the Staff Member in the Dept, and she brought one out. With them being LTD,we have a 1 per customer quota .

Although, whats to stop people either going back in , or bringing a family member. Hey ho. always ways round it sadly.

I bought. 518/1000. Didnt realise the numbers were so low, these usually are 1.5-2.5k .Lots of stores stoking this from the list, so spread thinly, and ultimately rare.

Because my only store I can reach is Southport – And on the Big Finish website, it says Southport ARE stocking the vinyl, but it isn’t featured on your list here?

(Basically if they’re for some reason not stocking the vinyl now, i’m stuffed.)

I’m probably going to have to resort to e-bay for these ones – my local Asda, which used to get these in (although not always – but the last couple, last year, they did) is not on the list for these. The only London Asda I can see from a quick skim of the list on BF’s site is Park Royal. The list of participating branches looks a bit smaller to me at first glance?
