Big Chief Amy Pond – Full Specification / Images

Big Chief Studios Amy Pond 1:6 Scale Figure

Amy Pond first met her ‘raggedy Doctor’ when she was a little girl and waited fourteen years before he finally returned to whisk her away in the TARDIS.

Brave, bold, decisive and always ready to confront the problem, Amy has battled the Silence, escaped the Weeping Angels, encountered the Daleks and yet still found the time to marry her childhood sweetheart Rory Williams.

BIG Chief Studios Ltd. is proud to announce the Amy Pond 1:6 Scale Collector Figure, officially licensed and authorised by BBC Worldwide. Featuring a fully realised character portrait of “the girl who waited” as portrayed by actress Karen Gillan, authentically styled hand-tailored detailed costume, signature accessories and a partial TARDIS display base.

Both Limited Edition and Signature Edition versions of the figure will be available for Priority Pre-order from 7.00 pm (GMT) on Wednesday 7th March. As Priority Customers you are eligable for Advance Pre-order for 24 hours.

Why does it say it’s from The Girl Who Waited? It isn’t, because in that episode she was wearing a blue shirt not a red one. The red one with jacket was seen in The Curse of The Black Spot and The Doctor’s Wife. 🙂

Because when they were describing her, they weren’t referring to her episode but the fact she waited for the Doctor for 14 years and waiting for Rory and the Doctor for 36 years.

Hm, this isn’t bad but hte face really takes away from it all. It just doesn’t seem like Karen Gillan . If it was supposed to be someone else, and you saw it, you would be reminded of Amy Pond, but when it’s representing her, it just doesn’t quite do it. 🙁

The Doctor figure is the best. (so far)

This looks far from an official full reveal to me, Just an over contrasted pre announcement promo image

      March 2nd, 2012 - 4:41pm

They did the same thing with the Eleventh Doctor when it got its first oficial announcement (there were even a few dodgy colours on the face of that one as well). It certainly isn’t the final announcement (there will be a few more pictures revealed with the accessories shown) but this is certainly the announcement of the figure, although not of the release so to speak.

I’d go this version for sure… but there’s a big price difference and they’re quite different products, so it’s personal taste really.

The pre-release photos from the earlier stages of development look far better than this finished image. The hair is far too bouncy and shiny, while her face seems too wide.

It will be interesting to see the ‘final’ final… final… >_< photos… which presumably will be released when the preorder goes up. There seems to be quite a wide variation between the earlier photos and these final (?) pics… so I'm going to wait and see what happens on the product page.

These pics certainly make the figure look very doll-like… I can't help but chuckle and think of this http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/389553_10150489994716002_187818566001_10952404_1893841331_n.jpg everytime I see them. :p
