Big Chief Renew Doctor Who license

From Big Chief

“We are thrilled to announce that BIG Chief have renewed our license agreement with BBC Studios for Doctor Who.

Since 2011 Doctor Who has been a key brand for BIG Chief and our commitment to the fans of the world’s longest running sci-fi TV show remains constant.

So what exactly do you guys have to look forward to? Well we heard you and we can confirm that our planned release schedule is classic all the way.

Following on from the upcoming Third Doctor pre-order, beginning this FRIDAY 26th JULY at 6 pm (UK time), collectors can expect a jaw dropping all new Deluxe Series 18 version of the Fourth Doctor (see work in progress renders), followed by the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors. A special Commemorative Edition of the Second Doctor will be released and yes you’ve requested them and we will be releasing our first Cyberman, Dalek and the Master (Roger Delgado).

We have other figures and environments that we are currently discussing and a fun range of Bobble Head Figurines and Mini Bobbles in our signature caricatured style.

Customers awaiting the 8th Doctor keep an eye out for an email update coming your way…

We want to thank each and every one of you who has continued to support the line and look forward to some awesome new collectables over the coming years”

It makes commercial sense to do it that way. The items will cost a lot to produce. They need to know it will be worthwhile. I buy books funded the same way, it’s a small publisher and they find the publication with pledged preorders

Its barmy the last three items I watched failed to make it…they all got launched anyway. Its over complicated and unecessary.

That’s the rest of the Doctors all lined up for release then. From Hartnell to Whittaker and John Hurt’s War Doctor too they’ll all be getting made.

We’ve already had a couple of recent companions and can now look forward to the first onscreen Master and a Dalek and Cyberman. With the promise of ‘more exciting characters’ to be announced.

Being a fan of Doctor Who really hits the wallet hard!

note to self – I’m not spending money, I’m ‘investing it’.

I would be overjoyed if a company like Hot Toys or ThreeZero got the Doctor Who licence instead of Big Chief. Big Chief are okay, but nowhere near as good in comparison to some of the other companies…

I accidentally read this out loud and now my wallet has closed up and is refusing to open.
And to think the rich spend money on tat like gold and dimonds no imagination for spending money that lot.

Agreed. Doctor Who 50th anniversary 2013 = gold
coming up – Doctor Who Diamond anniversary 2023.

Different kind of gold and diamond – and a lot more fun!

Well the original Tom figure was acclaimed and while the outfit and accessories are superb I dont like the staring, five oclock shadow face at all.

I have the Hartnell which was admittedly excellent. The Pertwee figure looks a little overly ‘stern’ but still looks extremely worth having.

I’m completely new to big chief but want to jump on board as they seem to be focusing a lot more on Classic who. Could someone kindly tell me which classics have been released so far… I notice the 8th Dr is currently sold out… they have done one 4th & one 1st Dr, is that all so far? Thanks, raven

I might not be able to afford them (food before luxuries lol) but this is great news for those who can get them. I only managed to get 3 figures but now money is too tight which is a pity as I’d love to get Jodie’s figure.
