Packaging for Eleventh Doctor 1:6 Scale Collector Figure Revealed

From www.bigchiefstudios.co.uk

“We are pleased to reveal the final approved packaging design for our Eleventh Doctor 1:6 Scale Collector Figure. As collectors ourselves we understand all to well how important packaging is. We carefully considered the pack construction, taking both the retailer and the end customer into mind.

Retailers ideally want a pack that allows customers to see what they are paying for, whilst collectors often expect more minimalistic closed boxes,
with emphasis on design more so than display. In addition we also have to remain faithful the style guide and of course ultimately, approval by the licensor.

As such we have designed a pack that we believe will service all of these criteria. The box has a cover flap, that when opened up reveals a window pack for display, with a matt laminate finish to reduce fingerprints and protect the box. Finally the Doctor Who logos and product titles will be hot foil stamped in a beautiful vibrant metallic copper foil.

Two inner trays hold the figure, accessories and display base securely in place. Signature Edition packs will also include the hand-signed autograph plaque with accompanying plaque stand and certificate of authenticity.”

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but BT are apparently finalising a Doctor Ganger and Stetson head for the 11th Doctor 😀

One day I will have enough stinking money to buy this beauty, and that day will be a joyous one. 😉

I also would get the accessory pack which will include the Doctors longcoat, blue suspenders, a spare set of trousers, his pale blue shirt, and a blue bowtie, among other things I imagine. 😉

Wonder what it’s going to look like ?

Wonder whether the Coppery Gold Who Logo may be something to do with the 50th anniversary? 50 being a golden anniversary and all 😀

A complete rebrand ? What, you mean they will totally redesign their only-just-released merchandise design ?

      April 29th, 2012 - 5:38pm

Not big chief, I’m talking about the BBC wanting all merchandise released for the 50th or during that year to be specially branded i can see it happening to be honest

Sorry realised that after I posted the comment but do you think they will change the logo for the 50th episode for forever, i think it would be good for just the one ep as it shows it is different

      So what do you think??????

    • booboo

      May 16th, 2012 - 6:46pm

they may have a change you never know

Theyhavnt had the current one for long, don’t you think that if they change the merchant for the 50th ep to a gold logo like on the box it would look good, then back to blue

Within the next couple of months. They were supposed to be released in April (but as you can see, we’re running out of April…) but the official website says “Qtr 2 2012”.

BC haven’t posted any release date info for quite a while now – despite many people asking – so presumably they don’t have a proper date yet.

There’s the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, The Tenth Doctor and a Weeping Angel coming out this year, and if all goes to plan there should be a Fourth Doctor coming out just before Christmas so you could be in luck.
