Doctor Who: Vampire Science
In the days when the Time Lords were young, their war with the vampires cost trillions of lives on countless worlds. Now the Vampires have been sighted again, in San Francisco.
Some want to coexist with humans, using genetic engineering in a macabre experiment to find a new source of blood. But some would rather go out in a blaze of glory – and UNIT’S attempts to contain them could provoke another devastating war.
The Doctor strikes a dangerous bargain, but even he might not be able to keep the city from getting caught in the crossfire. While he finds himself caught in a web of old feuds and high-tech schemes, his new companion Sam finds out just how deadly travelling with the Doctor can be.
The Year Of Intelligent Tigers
‘Doctor!’ said Anji. This couldn’t be happening, he couldn’t just walk out on them! ‘ Look, give them a chance, they’re frightened, they’re only –’ ‘Human?’ He took a deep breath, as though to stop himself from saying anything more. ‘Now, stay!’ The weather is going to hell.
The tigers are coming to town. And the Doctor has taken his violin and vanished. The island world of Hitchemus is home to a colony of musicians and seemingly harmless alien animals.
When the storms and the tigers break loose, the Doctor tries to protect the humans – but the humans don’t want him.
When he ventures into the wilderness in search of the tigers’ secrets, Fitz and Anji find themselves on their own, trying to prevent a war. With both sides eager for blood, and hurricanes on the horizon, the Doctor must decide whether this time he’s on the side of the human race.
Unnatural History
‘They called it the Millennium Effect,’ said the Doctor. ‘But the millennium was only beginning.’ San Francisco has changed since the start of 2000.
The laws of physics keep having acid flashbacks. There are sightings of creatures from outside our dimensions, stranded aliens and surrealist street performers. The city has become a mecca for those who revel in impossible creatures – and those who want to see them pinned down and put away.
Sam’s past is catching up with her – a past she didn’t know she had. The Doctor is in danger of becoming the pi`ece de r´esistance in a twisted collection of creatures.
And beneath the waters of the Bay, something huge is waiting. With time running out, the Doctor must choose which to sacrifice – a city of wonders, or the life of an old and dear friend. This is another in the series of original adventures for the Eighth Doctor.
Trading Futures
‘Welcome to the future.’ The early decades of the twenty-first century.
All the wars have been won. There are no rogue states.
The secret services of the world keep the planet electronically monitored, safe from all threat.
There is no one left for the United States and the Eurozone to fight. Except each other.
A mysterious time traveller offers a better future – he has a time machine, and with it, humanity could reach the next stage of evolution, they could share its secrets and become the new Lords of Time. . . . . . either that, or someone could keep the technology for themselves and use it to fight the ultimate war.
The Gallifrey Chronicles
The Doctor’s home planet of Gallifrey has been destroyed.
The Time Lords are dead, their TARDISes annihilated.
The man responsible has been tracked down and lured to Earth in the year 2005, where there will be no escape.
But Earth has other problems – a mysterious signal is being received, a second moon appears in the sky, and a primordial alien menace waits to be unleashed. . .
The stage is set for the ultimate confrontation – for justice to be done.
The Doctor and his companions Fitz and Trix will meet their destiny.
And this time, the Doctor isn’t going to be able to save everyone.
Father Time
‘I love her,’ the Doctor said. ‘Of course you do, she’s your daughter.’
Earth in the nineteen-eighties is a battleground.
Rival alien factions have travelled from the far future to pursue their vendetta.
With UFOs filling the skies, a giant robot stalking the Derbyshire hills, and alien hunters searching for the mysterious Last One, the Doctor is the only man who can protect the innocents caught in the crossfire.
But old scores are being settled, the fate of a Galactic Empire is at stake, and, against his will, the Doctor is drawn into a decade-long war that will strike at those he holds most dear.
The Doctor has lost his memory, his friends, his past and his TARDIS. All he has now is the love of his daughter. But will even that be taken from him?
Infinity Doctors
“Sing about the past again, and sing that same old song.
Tell me what you know, so I can tell you that you’re wrong.” Gallifrey. The Doctor’s home planet.
For twenty thousand centuries the Callifreyans have been the most powerful race in the cosmos. They have circumnavigated infinity and eternity, harnessed science and conquered death.
They are the Lords of Time, and have used their powers carefully. But now a new force has been unleashed, one that is literally capable of anything. It is enough to give even the Time Lords nightmares.
More than that: it is enough to destroy them. It is one of their own.
Waiting for them at the end of the universe. Featuring the Doctor, this adventure celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Doctor Who.
Seeing I
He has no idea why Samantha Jones ran away from him.
Sam is homeless on the streets of the colony world of Ha’olam, trying to face what’s just happened between her and the Doctor.
He’s searching for her, and for answers.
While she struggles to survive in a strange city centuries from home, the Doctor comes across evidence of alien involvement in the local mega-corporation, INC – and is soon confined to a prison that becomes a hell of his own making.
Where did INC’s mysterious eye implants really come from? What is the company searching for in the deserts?
What is hiding in the shadows, watching their progress? Faced with these mysteries, separated by half a world, Sam and the Doctor each face a battle – Sam to rebuild her life, the Doctor to stay sane. And if they do find each other again, what will be left of either of them?
Blue Box
California 1981: Peri wants to visit her home, but the Tardis, with its usual precision, has dropped her and the Doctor off on the right continent, but in the wrong place, in the right decade, but the wrong year.
Determined anyway to enjoy the weird fashions of her native time, Peri wants to go clubbing. The Doctor takes her to a seedy looking joint, where aliens and supernaturals congregate. And leaves her there. Stranded and alone, with only cryptic instructions from the missing Doctor to go by, Peri finds herself drawn into the underground world of early phone and computer hacking.
In 1981, the computer network may be relatively primitive, but the hackers are getting more sophisticated by the minute.
And they are about to become a whole lot more so, as one of the hackers has got her hands on the technology of the Eridani, an alien race whose freighters were hijacked by their enemies the Jai. The Doctor struggles to prevent the technology being used on Earth, the more so as he gradually realises the exact nature of the mysterious components from outer space…

The TARDIS
October 19th, 2012 - 11:08amCan you buy these in bookshops or is it only on line?
McGann is the Doctor.
January 30th, 2011 - 7:02pmI was going to get some of the old Novels, the story “Business as Usual” would have to be the first, I must read it all before I see the Trial of a Timelord sereis, because it details how the Doctor first met Mel, he also meets the Brig.
And one with the Paul McGann Doctor, Parallel 59. And the list goes on!
One of the stories listed here seems like a suitable one for me to take on, Trading Futures. Its a story that involves the civillisation of our world, at stake! And guess whos going to be our saviour, 😮

January 9th, 2011 - 9:51pmI wonder why Amazon listed some New Adventures reprints then? Better to spend £8 on a book with whiter paper than spend £20 for the original. 🙂 It would be nice to see them in mainstream shops, if a little confusing for the average shopper to be like “Hmm, 2004 logo, 2009 logo, 1996 logo or 1997 logo?” 😀

January 8th, 2011 - 9:23pmCA, on Gallifrey Base. Lance Parkin said there was no intention of reprinting any Virgin books. I don’t recall Kate Orman saying Blue Box was getting reprinted either. Is this just off the grapevine BooBoo or have you been supplied this information by the BBC. I think its Amazon and WHSmith or Waterstones stelling the reprints?
booboo
January 8th, 2011 - 9:33pmAmazon, Play.com and waterstones are all advertising these for releases in 2011 and in some cases with prices and pre order, perhaps you should be asking them, I dont think they get their info from any grapevine. If its incorrect then all 3 should take them down.

booboo

January 7th, 2011 - 7:59pmThese are regard some of the best Doctor Who books of the age and by three of the top writers of the day. I haven’t read them but I’ve only heard good reviews. Kate and Lance infulenced the reprints to my knowledge because the stories now belong to the writers in copyright so I doubt well get more unless the sales encourage the writers it’ll be worth their while. Lance has said that the reprints are still not definately but the worse situation if you preorder is a full refund, though at this stage hopefully this means they are confirmed.

January 7th, 2011 - 4:32pmIn the trailer for Series 6 we see living dolls that seemed plastic and for the Sontarans one of the new episodes involves the Doctor being cloned. Maybe that had somthing to do with a Sontaran cloning machine.
Claude Parish
January 7th, 2011 - 3:48pmI bought these because they were the ONLY connection to Doctor Who we had for years!
The magazine was hard to find, but the books were readily available.
I’d like to see a reprint of Paul Cornell’s “Human Nature”, of course and a book called “Damaged Goods” by an author called Russell T.Davies. I wonder what ever happened to him?
🙄

January 7th, 2011 - 1:49pmyes, its the 15-25 age group that were not that familiar with Doctor Who until the new series

booboo
January 7th, 2011 - 1:33pmI dont know but the new series has opened up awareness of the classic series to younger people so maybe they are just testing the water to see how they sell

January 6th, 2011 - 5:39pmThe more we get of the classic series (as well as Moffat’s masterpiece) the better. Yes, we need more 8th Doctor stories because, otherwise, we’ll have no way to know what that incarnation got up to! Would be a real pity. for obvious reasons Peri works best on screen…though she’s still great to listen to. Now to briefly join the rest and go wildly off topic (sorry DOctOr11, u did make a very good point!) and quickly remark that, yes, I hope the autons and men in black make an appearance. Personally? I want cybermen! Tons and tons of…
D0ct0r11
January 6th, 2011 - 5:26pmWe know there are Men in Black in the episodes one and two, but not if they’re THE Men in Black (as seen in “Dreamland” and SJA). How do you know about the Sontarans or the Autons? Just because there’s talk of clones in episodes five and six, why do they have to be Sontarans and Autons?
This discussion is completely off-topic, and nothing to do with merchandise. I’m not going to reply to anymore of comments like that. 😕

January 6th, 2011 - 4:45pmYes, we’ve seen the ‘Ood’, but seriously where does it say that the men in black are comming back…?

January 6th, 2011 - 4:28pmI already know some monsters for Series 6: Ood, Men In Black, And possibly the Sontarans or the Autons. 😎
