I could just picture all the doctors to date and all his companions+. It would knock a lot of these merchandising companies who make figures and figurines for Who into the shade.

I’ve seen two sellers selling a non-flip head version of the figure, claiming they’re an unreleased prototype – are they genuine or are they custom jobs? The paintwork and eye stalk are correct. if genuine, a nice addition to my collection, but I’m definitely not interested in customs.

August 18th, 2025 - 2:54pmOoooh. Now that is interesting you say that Martino! The other day I bid on a listing for what must’ve been a loose example of such a pair. The Daleks looked to be the Set #8 figures, yet their heads didn’t seem to have a hinge at the back from what I could tell from the pictures, which I thought was really odd but I figured it must’ve just been a weird angle, even though it was blatantly showing the back of the head. Nevertheless, I wanted the set, but unfortunately it went higher than I bid. It sold for around £55, which is really decent for the standard version of the set, let alone prototypes! Had I known there were rumours of such prototypes existing, I would’ve thought to bid way higher! After hearing what you’ve said here, it makes me believe they were genuine prototypes, as in this listing they weren’t advertised as such. The listing literally just named them as ‘Doctor Who Action Figures’ with no mention of even what set they were from. Very interesting stuff and somewhat gutted I didn’t know about this two days ago. XD

If they’re being listed as just ‘Doctor Who Action Figures’, I’m never going to spot them! Is the seller listing other figures?

August 17th, 2025 - 10:41amLooking Forward to the Next set of Three Figurines again. (Even though we don’t know what one of them is yet). With all these Gaps (Numberwise) in the Collection Now I wonder if M/R will go back and fill all the Gaps but End the Collection at 250. Or not bother Filling the Gaps but still Finish at 250. Or go to 250 and Beyond including some New Figurines from the last Two Seasons.

August 17th, 2025 - 11:11amI would prefer beyond and not let the numbering or what eaglemoss had planned bother them. I say keep collectors guessing with the drops and maybe even offer others that werent just on the sacred list. Ben Robinson one of MRs developers who deals with the licences once remarked he would love to see a chumblie in the collection so maybe plans are in place to extend beyond what scifi collector are selling on their behalf.
If im honest i would much prefer more storysets. That way collectors know whether or not they want to buy fugurines from that story regardless of nu or classic who.

August 17th, 2025 - 11:32amId quite like their to be a few figurines from the 60th specials and maybe a 15th and Ruby to bring us up to date but i struggled with the Gatwa era and only really liked 2 stories and they were from season 1, 73 yards and dot and bubble.

The Meep, Wrarth Warriors, Robots from Revolution, Goblin King, Female Goblin, Male Goblin, Bogie Monster, Ruby Sunday, Mr Ring-A-Ding, The Two Rani’s, David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Mel, Kate Left bridge Stewart and Quite a Few Other Beasts and Villains but I can’t remember all there Names, (like the Ladies sat at the Tables in the Bone Tower, Plus the Guards).

August 18th, 2025 - 1:28pmSomething I never thought about before, but as just sprung to mind, I know a few people have said they would like M/R to make the Story Sets again, like Three Figurines per Box or even 4 Figurines a Box but Realistically how much would these sets cost Now, Since Single Figurines Are Around 33 Pound?
With Abit of Discount for Bulk buying I could see the Four Packs being 120 Pound Each.

August 18th, 2025 - 6:00pmWell you could expect to pay as much as that or more for unreleased figurines as part of a boxset given the singles are between £30-40 each. Still worth it considering the factory costs and shipping for something painted. These last few batches the paintwork has been outstanding compared to some of those eaglemoss releases which frankly were risible and downright awful.

There the Same as the Eaglemoss Rare Subscription Daleks but in the New Box’s (No Magazine).
I’ve got the Original Version with Magazine Aswell, but I’m a Sucker for the New Packaging.

Where they created for different reasons? Really interested in the process that goes into designing/making these so any information is helpful!

August 5th, 2025 - 1:13pmVladnag, as far as I know there’s no difference at all. Traditionally Prototypes are made from the Mass Production Tooling and are just a Trial run to see if there’s any problems with the Tooling before mass Production begins. Companies usually used whatever plastic is already being used in the last Production run to use up any old Plastic. (Hence why there usually all different colours or even all One Colour). It’s just using up Old plastic Pellets. Remember Fully Articulated Figures have Many Presses to make just one Figure. (One for the Head,, One Upper arm, another Lower arm, upper leg, Lower Leg etc etc. And whatever Plastic Pellets are in each Hopper, they’ll use up all the Excess Pellets for the Prototype.
I Guarantee they wont Empty a Full Hopper to put in the Correct Colored Pellets just for One Prototype.
I could be wrong but that’s how I understand the process. (A long time ago I worked a Couple of Years for Polypipe in the UK) and I worked on these Automated Presses that made plastic Pipe parts, Plastic Nuts, Guttering, Drainpipes etc. I Even Worked on the Extruders Now and again that made the Huge Pipes for Underground Sewage Systems. I should think there Similar to what the Chinese Factories use, only alot bigger.

I don’t think we even know what the Dalek Variants are? I’m sure the TARDIS is Standalone this year though. So No figure included that’s me out.

August 5th, 2025 - 11:30amIt was reported months ago that there would be two waves. Dalek and TARDIS and Dalek and Cyber but I can’t remember which way round. TARDIS is solo release 13/14/15ths presumably B&M got there first or CO CBA releasing it.
TARDIS and Cybers will at least be wanted unlike most of the previous sets. In fact very, very sought after.

Weirdly I feel like the HOTD sets have kind of moved to the next generation fans now they are NS!

August 8th, 2025 - 2:12pmJohn’s comment just made me realise…. it never occurred to me before but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Revenge set is going to be Cyberleader, Cyberman and 4th Doctor. That would keep it in line with how they’ve previously released Cybermen in the B&M line (I don’t think they’ve ever done more than two of the same Cyberman in a set? Usually there’s a Doctor, Cyberman and Cyberleader like in the Silver Nemesis set, or even just one Cyberman OR Cyberleader, like in the Five Doctors set) and so it’d encourage people to buy more than one, plus not be a straight-up re-release of the old set, but moreover it’d be really easy to put a new variant of the 4th Doctor with it. If they took the Zygons 4th Doctor and replaced the head with a standard 4th Doctor then that’s literally all they’d need to do to get, for the first time I believe, an actually accurate Season 12 4th Doctor in the duffel coat (which I’m pretty sure he still wears at the beginning of Revenge, iirc).

The DR. is right that they are not upto Big Chief standards but they are not supposed to be which is why they are much cheaper.
