As first glimpsed 15 years ago in the Doctor Who TV story Utopia, Sir Derek Jacobi returns as the Time War incarnation of the Master in four action-packed full-cast audio dramas.

While on the run, the War Master encounters Greek mythological figures and famous literary characters from the works of Hans Christian Andersen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Oscar Wilde. As the Master moves through each fictitious world, chaos follows…

The War Master: Escape from Reality is now available for pre-order as a collector’s edition 4-disc CD box set (+ download for just £24.99) and as a digital download (for just £19.99), exclusively from www.bigfinish.com.

The stellar cast also includes Ella Smith (as Medusa), Greg Austin (as Perseus), David Sibley (as Zeus), Jessye Romeo (as Andromeda), Nicholas Briggs (as the Daleks and Sherlock Holmes), Richard Earl (as Dr. John Watson), Gethin Anthony (as the Shadow), and Safiyya Ingar (as Sea Witch). As previously announced, the Outlander and Sanditon actor Alexander Vlahos guest stars as Dorian Gray.

Pursued by a squadron of Dalek assault ships, the Master’s only hope is to abandon the space-time vortex and flee into an altogether different reality: a realm of fiction.

Confronted with creatures of myth and figures from folklore, the Master sees an opportunity to scavenge a universe of impossible artefacts and use them against his enemies.

But first he must face off against a host of legendary monsters, literary heroes and embody fiction’s greatest consulting detective: Sherlock Holmes.
