Doctor Who Series 13 Flux Steelbook
She’s back. The Thirteenth Doctor is returning for the thirteenth series, a six-part Event Serial.
Since their last epic battle in Revolution of the Daleks, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Yaz (Mandip Gill) have been exploring the universe together but with the Doctor now questioning everything about her past she will undoubtedly be searching for answers…
Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones, Broadchurch) is also set to make his debut on Doctor Who as recurring character, Vinder. Jacob’s new role will see him join forces with the Doctor, Yaz and Dan as the Doctor faces her biggest ever adventure.
Series 13 will introduce some terrifying new adversaries and the return of truly iconic old enemies. Expect action, fun, scares and extraordinary new worlds as the Doctor and her friends confront a deadly evil.
Synopsis

Packed with action, humour, terrifying new villains, and iconic returning monsters such as the Sontarans and the Weeping Angels, Doctor Who: Flux tells one story across a vast canvas.
From Liverpool to the depths of space, via the Crimean war and a planet named Atropos, which shouldn’t even exist, fighting old foes and new creatures from beyond our dimension, the Doctor and company face a race against (and through!) time to uncover a universe-spanning mystery: what is the Flux?

January 26th, 2022 - 6:16pmGot mine today, and as feared there is no “Revolution of the Daleks”. Thanks for leaving out one episode in the timeline once again, Mr. whoever is behind the steelbook production. I wonder how many neurons it takes to understand it should be included. 🙁
Children of davros
January 26th, 2022 - 8:14pmEr, it doesn’t exactly hide that revolution isn’t included. People just seem to want to complain these days.
Stefano
January 27th, 2022 - 1:49pm@children, Was it clearly written down somewhere? I didn’t see any content breakdown at least. I would expect it to be included as the Christmas/New Year special have always been included in this series of steelbooks, except for “Once Upon a time”, which was still unexplained but at least I could guess that being due to a new doctor and new production team being at the helm.
For the record, I would have bought this steelbook anyway. What I cannot possibly understand is why you would put out a comprehensive, 16-year-spanning series and just leave out 2 friggin’ episodes. It’s just senseless from a watcher perspective. I’m at least holding out hope that it will be included (in the wrong order) in the next steelbook which I would assume covering the 2022 specials.
And no, I don’t just want to complain, there’s plenty I like about the steelbooks and Doctor Who in general, so I would appreciate if you just didn’t assume people’s intentions.
Stefano
January 27th, 2022 - 1:50pm…and of course I meant “Twice Upon a Time” 🙂

January 27th, 2022 - 1:51pm…and of course I meant “Twice upon a time”!

January 27th, 2022 - 3:07pmIt was clearly written down both on the cover of the boxes and in the official blurb.

January 28th, 2022 - 5:22pmI too think this years specials will be released together in a Steelbook and boxset Setefano.
Stefano
January 29th, 2022 - 7:40amHi Rob! Hope they will make the effort to include the 2021 new year’s special as well, otherwise it will weirdly be left out of the steelbook collection, just as “twice upon a time” did…

February 15th, 2022 - 7:05pmI’ve recently started collecting the steel books despite my not liking much of the Moffat years. I missed series one and badly want a reissue I have 2-8 and 11 and 12 and I too find Resolution of the Daleks being omitted very annoying however I do agree they made no secret of it not being included

January 24th, 2022 - 1:38pmRecieved mine today and the steelbook looks great. One tiny issue is the insert doesn’t match the discs. The insert list episodes 1 to 4 on disc 1, and 5 & 6 on disc 2, but it is 3 on each. Not a big deal but at the best part of 40 quid for a two disc release you’d think the basics would be right.
Rob W
January 24th, 2022 - 6:07pmThe standard version will likely be the same too?

January 24th, 2022 - 9:22pmDVD insert lists 2 episodes per disc plus extras

My only worry is that my luck with amazon deliveries hasn’t been the best and I worry about damage, I prefer things not to be exclusive to one shop.
Otherwise its a beautiful steel book

October 30th, 2021 - 7:02pmOh no! I was worried they’d release Flux without Revolution of the Daleks. Wonder if there might be a more complete set after the specials next year?
This cover art looks amazing though so I will probably be ordering anyway just to be safe!

October 30th, 2021 - 7:06pmHoping so, then they can label that The Complete Thirteenth Series! 10 episodes, so similar amount to Series 11/12 sets.

I don’t watch these, I just collect them for how nice they look on display. I’ll probably get the standard DVD from HMV after release

October 30th, 2021 - 2:10pm£38 seems a lot for 6 episodes and no extras, although I am glad the artwork is much better than the other steelbooks
Doctor Stu
October 30th, 2021 - 4:26pmI wonder if the extras will be announced after the series has ended. Seems way too steep for 6 episodes and nothing more just because it’s in a fancy case
PiersS
October 30th, 2021 - 4:39pmPrevious steel books on the animated episodes have had about an £11 gbp mark up.
This time it’s £16, I hope this is not common going forward.
I’ve purchased for now, but hope the price drops.
Rob W
November 1st, 2021 - 10:18amThe non-Steelbook release is now £19.99 making the Steelbook less appealing. A £31 price would be great.
HS
January 7th, 2022 - 9:55amThe Specials Steelbook only had 5 episodes 😛
Gordon
October 30th, 2021 - 10:17amLooks good but £38 for just 6 episodes and 2 discs (according to hmv)? Seems very high. Hopefully it will drop before release.

October 30th, 2021 - 2:17amOh great and now Amazon.co.uk are blocking New Zealander’s preordering this! *sigh* Any ideas where else I can preorder this AND get it sent to New Zealand?
SilentNinjaZero
October 30th, 2021 - 7:28amI’m in New Zealand as well and unfortunately it looks like there is nowhere else to order from. It is an Amazon exclusive steelbook. The series 12 steelbook was the same. We’ll both probably have to resort to ebay.
It is annoying that Amazon block NZ, but they’ve done that for 2 years now, ever since our govt introduced new gst rules on overseas goods. At least Zavvi still ships here and I’ve used them for Collection sets and animations, due to better versions/ avoidance of long wait times. In this case though, can’t use Zavvi :/
Bushboy
October 30th, 2021 - 8:36amTry Zavvi Australia. Not sure if it is available to preorder from them yet but if not I’m sure it will be soon.
ruxy100
October 30th, 2021 - 11:19am@Bushboy – it’s an Amazon exclusive, so won’t be sold by Zavvi.

October 30th, 2021 - 11:20amHey, I’m in New Zealand and found a way to order this. If you go onto the New Zealand Post YouShop site, you can get a post address in the uk that you can ship orders to and once it arrives there you’ll get an email asking you to pay postage to send it to New Zealand. I haven’t ordered this way before but I do know additional postage can be expensive so keep that in mind (I’m expecting it to be around $50NZD for the additional postage but not 100% sure). I know that may not be the best solution but hope that helps. – Also just a note, when I ordered it came up as a discount down to £17.99 which was a bonus haha

October 30th, 2021 - 2:27pmCongratulations you were charged the price of the DVD! Well done mate!

October 31st, 2021 - 3:42am@ T
Thanks for the info, didn’t know they offered that service. Do they give you an estimate of the shipping cost before you have it sent to the UK address, or do you have to risk it?
Could you post how much it is once it arrives there? Am interested. It may be slightly different for me based on location but should be the same roughly.

November 1st, 2021 - 4:58amI use YouShop all the time, last steelbook cost $28.64 for shipping. But now they’ve made it even harder by removing the ability to put your ID in as the customer name. Hopefully still arrives.

October 30th, 2021 - 12:19amThe big question now is… does it have ‘Revolution Of The Daleks’?

October 30th, 2021 - 9:45amThe 6 hours runtime seems to suggest no it doesn’t Reece.

October 30th, 2021 - 10:19amIt’s a 2 disc release according to hmv. Plus the spine suggests it’s just flux I’d suggest not

October 29th, 2021 - 8:39pmI just ordered with no problem from Amazon. I’m sure I’ll thoroughly enjoy the series however this is one of those steelbooks which is so beautiful that the content within almost doesn’t matter.

December 15th, 2021 - 4:34pmI had no problem with pre ordering with amazon. I do however pre order all doctor who collection sets and steel books through amazon using the same amazon account and Uk delivery address.
Always been easy and problem free and always delivered when they say with payment taken roughly 3 or 4 days before delivery.
Isitneil
December 15th, 2021 - 4:39pm….in fact on the few occasions the change of release date meant I had insufficient funds in my account, was also easy and problem free. Amazon have always held my item for 7 days while I amended payment details (paid for it) in which case they took payment as soon as I updated payment details and dispatched it straight after. I have always found pre ordering with amazon gives me 100% peace of mind. I’ve never had any issues or problems. As a result even if the cost was less somewhere else I would now always and continue to use amazon.
