Six new Doctor Who Collectors’ Sets + New Australia / USA Availability
Some sets are available now with more to follow from www.sanity.com.au
Customers in the USA will be able to order sets via www.amazon.com #ad
Character Options is pleased to announce the launch of six new Doctor Who action figure sets launching in late July 2020.
The range includes several action figure boxsets, including Friends and Foes of the Thirteenth Doctor set which completes the Thirteenth Doctors crew. All include highly detailed 5.5 inch scale figures featuring multiple points of articulation and come beautifully packaged.
The new collection will be available in the UK exclusively at B&M stores from late July and in the USA from www.amazon.com #ad and in Australia from www.sanity.com.au
Hotly anticipated is the Friends and Foes of the Thirteenth Doctor set. These are the first figures of companions Yasmin (Yaz) Khan, as seen in ‘Arachnids in the UK’, and Ryan Sinclair as seen in the story ‘Rosa’. The set also features a Judoon Trooper, one of the ruthless intergalactic security enforcers seen in the story ‘Fugitive of the Judoon’.
The new release of the Second Doctor and TARDIS Set features detailing from the last episode of 1969’s ten part epic ‘The War Games’, the final story of Season Six. The set comprises the Second Doctor with ripped trouser knee details and bedraggled appearance. The TARDIS comes in dark blue with iconic Second Doctor square top lamp, standard opening doors, ‘POLICE BOX’ signage and the newer low-profile base.
For Dalek aficionados there will be the two History of the Daleks Sets, which include specially created inserts as part of the heritage Doctor Who brand packaging.
‘The Daleks’ Collector Set comprises of a Twin Dalek Set and features the Daleks as seen fully in ‘The Daleks’, the second story of the very first season of Doctor Who in 1963. When seen in the early days of black and white television these Daleks were utterly alien in look and virtually identical in their livery of silver, mid grey and blue hemispheres. Their eyestalks became larger or smaller like the pupil of an eye and their guns comprised straight metal rails with inset plastic octagons. To identify each prop the casings had parallel black lines etched on, numbering them one to four. This has been replicated as accurately as possible in this new set.
The Dalek Invasion of Earth Collector Set features the Daleks as seen in the second serial of the second season, The Dalek Invasion of Earth, from 1964. Overwhelming demand and popularity meant the Daleks had to return, and this time they came to Earth. These revised Daleks were taller and more imposing with deep bases and revised colour schemes this stunning new set represents a silver eyed ‘Drone’ Dalek and the black ‘Saucer Command’ Dalek.
Hot on the heels of the Harry Sullivan figure release last year, Companions of the Fourth Doctor features a new figure of Sarah Jane Smith and two figures of Romana completing the Fourth Doctor’s companion list from 1975 to 1981. This set includes Sarah Jane Smith as seen in 1975’s ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ and ‘Revenge of the Cybermen’ stories, and Romana as seen in 1978’s ‘The Pirate Planet’ and 1979’s ‘Destiny of the Daleks’.
For some collectors, the arrival of the 1971 U.N.I.T Claws of Axos Set ends possibly the longest awaited figure release and completes the classic Third Doctor’s core U.N.I.T team of Brigadier Lethbridge Stuart, Captain Mike Yates and Sergeant John Benton. This new set features figures from Season 8’s 1971 story ‘The Claws of Axos’; the Brigadier wearing his less formal uniform with U.N.I.T beret, and Benton and Yates sporting their combat fatigues and webbing.
Al Dewar, Character Options, Creative Director, said. “This will be the first time in almost a decade where there will be parallel launches of the same product in the UK and the USA. Hopefully this new wave of toys will contain a few surprises for everyone. As always, the Character team has tried very hard to bring something new to delight, and hopefully exceed the expectations of fans and collectors alike. This time we are bringing even more to the table with six new products!”

Anonymous
July 22nd, 2020 - 9:39amwe wont see them before Saturday
having spoken on the past three releases with easily 25+ B & M’s, all advise their delivery for toys is Friday afternoon/Saturday morning
best trying Saturday afternoon.

July 22nd, 2020 - 10:18amThere will of course be those first at the door waiting to get in and clear those shelves, to as been said, obligate early buyers on ebay, as well as stall holders etc…. It was nearly a fortnight after release before i got my batch last year. I got caught in that initial rush and i,m not going to be disappointed if i don,t get them straight away this time around. Last year it seemed the south and areas of scotland seemed to spot and pick them up first, may be different again this year regionally, but we will all get them eventually.

July 22nd, 2020 - 11:26amjust been in conversation with one of the staff at the Band M store with which i picked up the items i wanted last year. she told me they usuallt get what is referred to as a ‘Brown Box’ delivery which can contain most miscellaeneous items such as Toys, other boxes for food stuff, cleaning products have different coded boxes. Anyway she did say they would be getting a delivery tomorrow afternoon for this particular store but had no idea what would be included. She has told me to ring back tomorrow afternoon as they cannot check availability until they are up on the shelves. More reassuringly and to save me a journey she did say that if i had the codes would put any items aside for me if they arrive.
booboo
July 22nd, 2020 - 12:23pmas a matter of interest how are you able to speak to the store?
did they give you a direct number or something
there is no option 3 on the number listed on their website to be put through anymore

July 22nd, 2020 - 2:31pmDiverted by way of customer services

July 22nd, 2020 - 2:34pmso if you phone the mains CS number they can put you through to the store?

July 22nd, 2020 - 3:04pmThats what happened got transfered to store. I didn,t want to give too much away as i want to ensure i get my order in if they arrive but it worked on this occasion. Didn,t work the first time as the woman i spoke to almost a week ago became obstructive as soon as i mentioned ‘Doctor Who’.

July 21st, 2020 - 5:05pmProduct codes will be difficult to use this time considering B&M won’t allow you to contact individual stores anymore to check
Dalek Command
July 21st, 2020 - 7:21pmThe lack of store contact is a problem now. I guess they got fed up with us all.
booboo
July 21st, 2020 - 8:35pmlol Covid is to blame for that, the app may prove useful for some though

July 21st, 2020 - 3:57pmBooboo. Will you start the comments section from scratch when the stocks start arriving? just makes it easier to identify whos seen what and where? and any news on that option 3 yet?
booboo
July 21st, 2020 - 4:33pmyes it will be a new post so wont have any comments in it from the start, option 3 has not been put back not sure what there intension are.

July 21st, 2020 - 6:43pmI reckon it will soon hit the 2000 mark in a week or two anyway.
booboo
July 21st, 2020 - 11:53amJust a note that when the “stocks arrived” post goes live in the next few days comments in all other B&M posts will be switched off so they can be concentrated in one place.
Dalek Command
July 21st, 2020 - 11:18amAn idea for B and M.
Allow pre-order online for the figures but they must be collected instore. Everyones a winner. We get the figures. B and M gets us into the shops.
Mitchell Hunt
July 21st, 2020 - 12:00pmThat is not in their interest as they could have to allocate staff time to organise this and it’s better for them for you keep popping back to check for stock or going to multiple branches. Pre orders just are not worth it for them
Martino
July 21st, 2020 - 1:08pmThat would be costly for B&M, hiring new staff, buying new off-the-peg software, software engineers to run it, new facilities for staff to sit in, all for sales that will happen anyway. If anything, it’d make the range (and other bargains) less viable.
Robert W
July 21st, 2020 - 3:21pmB&M are a discount retail model, not an Apple reseller.
DalekCommand
July 21st, 2020 - 4:13pmThought they might do “Click and Collect”. Anyway get it about them being a discount reseller. One can dream. Friday will be fun going around all the local stores.

July 21st, 2020 - 10:41amIf History of the Daleks continue for at least on more wave of 2, then I would be happy, mostly because I want a chase set. Anyway, here are my predictions for the next two sets.
History of the Daleks #3 – The Space Museum: Unlikely they would do this, but they could always do a display Dead Planet Dalek and the Dalek from the end of episode 6, with the carboard insert being the Dalek control room form episode 6.
History of the Daleks #3/4 – The Chase: Most likely they would do this as number 3. Here is why I want this. There are 7 Dalek variants in this story, but most are slight tweaks or have new attachments to their manipulator arm. A we already got two of the “normal” Daleks (I say normal but there are so many variations) with a Mechanoid. The two I would pick would be the supreme, and the Peter Cushing Movie Dalek! This could be are chance to get a proper one instead of the repainted Dead Planet Dalek.
History of the Daleks #4/5 – Mission to the Unknown: Again, would you do this? There are no Daleks in this that aren’t in masterplan, and only Flame-gun Dalek who isn’t in Mission. A possibility is that it could be based on the recreation and that they do a normal Dalek with a recreation Supreme Dalek.
History of the Daleks #4/5/6 – The Daleks Masterplan. I would do A supreme Dalek from the ToysRus Doctor/Dalek two packs, and a Flame-gun Dalek from the enemies of the First Doctor 3 pack.
There are a lot of sets that can take over the next two releases, but mission is more likely than space. If you think the Movie Dalek would be hard to make, he actually isn’t. All you need is a Planet of the Daleks Supreme skirt, base, hemisphere and ears, and a Dead planet Dalek mid-section, arms, eye and collar.
Sorry for the long comment
Martino
July 21st, 2020 - 1:13pmI wonder if B&M would agree to another wave that looks so similar to the first two history sets (silver with blue hemispheres) – grey and white variants would be more eye catching to those casual buyers. Death, Planet, Resurrection & Destiny Daleks with better paint jobs, imagine that!
Agent Smoulder
July 23rd, 2020 - 4:30amNext Dalek sets should be:
**The Chase / Daleks Masterplan: Blue/gold guard Dalek and black/blue Supreme Dalek (both previously released and sought-after)
**Power / Evil of the Daleks: Dalek with conveyor scoop & humanised Dalek with name marking
**Day / Planet of the Daleks: Gold Dalek and Supreme Dalek (both sought after) or Gold and Invisible Dalek
**Genesis / Destiny: Standard Dalek, Suicide Bomber Dalek
**Resurrection/Revelation: (Destroyed Dalek / Glass Dalek
**Remembrance: Emperor Davros, Dalek Controller (new sculpt)
TARDIS Traveller
July 21st, 2020 - 9:10amWent to my local B&M yesterday for shopping. They had moved the store round. Usually doctor who figures are on the lower shelves by the marvel sets. This time they were placed next to a harry potter at the top of the ailse with two shelves filled and two empty probably to make space for this stock. It’s nice to see Doctor who once again given a fair share of shelf space and attention.
The Monitor
July 21st, 2020 - 10:03amI take it you saw the new figures?
booboo
July 21st, 2020 - 10:11amthink they mean the old ones with 2 empty shelves for the new ones
Martino
July 21st, 2020 - 11:25amBizarrely, the 2020 Big Finish Dalek sets arrived in my B&M just last week, three of each – first Dr Who sets they’ve had this year (I’m ‘lucky’ in that my B&M is on my route to work, unlucky in that they rarely stock Doctor Who, not for want of asking).
xxadamscottxx
July 20th, 2020 - 11:07pmThese sets will most likely be available on amazon not long after for not that far from the original prices at first most of them are still on their with some being roughly the same price
( Just thought I’d say to save people from ebay)
Callum Eales
July 20th, 2020 - 10:24pmHow are these already on ebay. I only want the tardis. Its 50 quid on ebay already. So said that for some of us. We have to pay ebayer sellers prices.
Tom Press
July 21st, 2020 - 4:18amAs of now they have only been released in Australia, so they’ll only be a few sets listed on eBay and I’m sure that the prices are high, but just give it about a week and they’ll be everywhere, in stores, on amazon and for the normal prices 🙂
Dalek Command
July 21st, 2020 - 7:44amAgree. I posted this earlier. I cannot confirm but feel there are insiders in B and M.
booboo
July 21st, 2020 - 9:46amcould be but anyone can list these as “pre sale” then dash around stores when they are out, we know its going to happen but all of last years sets are on ebay or Amazon at around RRP or less so there is just no need to pay these prices
RW
July 21st, 2020 - 9:58amPeople are striking deals with local B&M store managers for extra stock to be ordered for them to that store, which is how they are listing on ebay as pre orders.
THIS DOESNT MEAN THEY HAVE THEM OR WILL GET THEM EARLIER THAN ANYONE ELSE!
DO NOT PANIC!. Plenty of sets to go around.

July 20th, 2020 - 10:29amSeems they have started to be released in Australia now

July 20th, 2020 - 10:32amyes I’ve seen a few on twitter, they are also getting 3 Big Finish sets and 3rd Doctor Tardis

July 21st, 2020 - 1:43amMy local comic book store in Perth had all the sets – this years and the Big Finish / 3rd Doctor and Tardis – which really saved some ebay searching and high pricing!
Hi
July 19th, 2020 - 6:54pmIf they continue history of the daleks to next year set 4 will probably have mission to the unknown and daleks master plan combined
Janet
July 19th, 2020 - 8:42pmWith a selection of interchangeable arms, maybe?
Theodore
July 18th, 2020 - 7:05pmHey Booboo, do we know if these are coming out on the Monday or Friday?
booboo
July 19th, 2020 - 10:58amdelivery days vary from store to store, but also the time of the delivery, the majority seemed to be late Friday or Saturday last year, also it depends how long it takes staff to put items out, they get huge deliveries so can take some time.
booboo
July 19th, 2020 - 11:00amLast year it was mostly late Friday or Saturday but i can take to time for stock to be put out and their are regional differences. There has never been a “fixed” date in all stores just a “from” date unless things have changed
Gallifrey Falls No More
July 16th, 2020 - 6:01pmDo we have a release date for these yet?
booboo
July 16th, 2020 - 6:10pmlast date from Character was 25th July
Gallifrey Falls No More
July 16th, 2020 - 7:38pmOk thanks. Hoping for yaz and Ryan and the TARDIS

July 17th, 2020 - 10:43amBooboo do different b&m stores get different delivery dates because my b&m gets stick on mondays but the 25th is saturday?
booboo
July 17th, 2020 - 12:05pmfrom past experience many stores got a delivery on Friday so they were on the shelves for the weekend (some stores had them out late Friday PM)
i think most stores actually get a delivery every day but Fridays tended to be “toy” day
the ergon
July 17th, 2020 - 6:10pmI hope there aren,t any spikes or local lockdowns in the areas i plan to travel on mad friday then.

July 16th, 2020 - 1:35pmI’m really excited to see how far the history of the daleks sets go, hopefully they do 2 or more sets each wave from the chronological episodes.

July 18th, 2020 - 3:58pmA Remembrance of the Daleks 2-pack would be interesting…
Romana 3
July 21st, 2020 - 5:27amHonestly, they should make atleast 4 twin packs dedicated to ‘Rememberance’ alone;
Set 14A – 2× Imperial Dalek drones
Set 14B – 2× Renegade Dalek drones
Set 14C – Imperial Emperor (Davros) and Renegade Supreme
Set 14D – Special Weapons and destroyed Imperial Dalek
The Silent Silent
July 16th, 2020 - 12:57pmDo we know how many of each set will be manufactured for the UK Market ???

July 16th, 2020 - 1:09pmI would be interested to know this.

July 16th, 2020 - 6:39pmthese things aren’t always discussed but its been around 6000-8000 i think in the past
the USA market for “classic” stuff is not that big now to be honest
gut feeling with the USA and now Australian Market possibly around 8-10K world wide
